Thank you so much! 🌞 Weatherford could be a great spot for retirement, especially with the small-town charm and convenience to the DFW area. Renting sounds like a smart plan! Are you leaning toward any specific areas in Texas for your retirement?

@@thedfwhomeowner small town, close, but not too close to large city. Met someone just moving there. Development going on. He's buying family home. I'll look you up! Texas has it! Close to California, so, can move fairly easily. Thanks for your response!

A plus to the weather in Weatherford… less humidity than anything East. Also, the elevation means nighttime temperatures may be a bit cooler. We also have fall colors!

Unfortunately, I don't live in NRH anymore, but I grew up there and lived there from 83-03, and it was a great place to live! But one thing I will say regarding the schools and culture when I was growing up there is that Richland had a long established reputation of being a party school. I heard stories going back to the 80s, and when I attended Richland High in 94-98, there was a LOT of drug use. Even at school, students were using using Marijuana in the parking lot, popping pills, drinking, and even heroine. The dropout rate amongst people I had attended North Richland Middle School with by the time we got to high school seemed crazy high at the time.
That said, those things were probably just byproducts of 80s-90s, which were very rebellious decades and with exceptionally high crime in general.
I don't know what NRH is like now, but it used to have a really interesting and unique vibe.

Wow, thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like there were some interesting changes happening in NRH back then. What do you think led to those changes?
