So just pick 10 random places in Texas and label them as the "worst towns to live in Texas" while slapping together 1 or 2 random statistics unrelated to any of the other statistics shown with other cities.... got it.... Also, having "Dallas - Fort Worth" as a city while having Arlington as a separate city when it's right in between the other 2 is kind of weird. The video's clearly more about clickbait than providing knowledge. lol
Are retirees counted in that unemployment rate mentioned? Loads of retirees used to flock to McAllen and live happily ever area. Perhaps whomever wrote this piece didn't do all of his/her homework. I heard a lot of statements "out there" with regard to some of the Texas cities and towns...things that no respectable, honest Texan would conclude unless they weren't aware of all of the facts. With so many moving from CA to TX, I pray that TX doesn't politically the way of CA.
What metric shows Dallas and Fort Worth as expensive, and not mention a word about Austin and Houston which are way more expensive than DFW? I think you have biased or bad information. The biggest part of your "10 worst" list are boarder towns which are now directly dealing with mass illegal migration.
The video stated that Dallas (and Ft. Worth) are expensive and that's one of the main reasons not to move there. Austin is significantly more expensive than Dallas and wasn't even mentioned. That's my point.
Houston isn’t nearly as expensive as Austin or Dallas. That said, I’d lap like to hear more on what makes Dallas one of the most expensive in the country. I can think of plenty more expensive areas. And not a little more but a lot more.
I like how they just grabbed some random facts for each city and cobbled them together. Zero continuity. This feels like something Gavin Newsom put together as a hit piece.
That’s what I don’t like about Texas. I was born here and likely die here, but can’t stand the summers. This year, at least it’s gree, but I went outside after 9 tonight and the heat was still like an oven.
I won’t be joining them. Brownsville is literally one of the least desirable cities in Texas other than the ones in the panhandle and at least those are closer to the mountains which I love. South Padre is nice, but not worth living in hell errr Brownsville
This is what happens when people make videos about places they have never been to. A better Top Ten would be the cities that Americans are fleeing, like San Francisco, Chicago, New York et al and then compare them to the population loss in these so-called "worst towns.
I actually graduated from Monterey highschool in the 1970s and it's always been a rough town that you can have a traffic jam going to church. It's not very different than most other fast growing cities
People vote with their feet and their wallets. They flee hell holes like S.Francisco, Detroit, Chicago and others. But, there are 2 another mitigating huge factors; how many people on welfare and foodstamps, and how many of the population work for the government. These are obvious hell holes, full of dirty, child mutilating, living /born child killing liberals and the poor.

Minimum wages workers can’t live in Arlington because Arlington is very bougie lol and so is downtown Dallas.
Beaumont always gets a bad wrap because we get lumped in with Port Arthur which is nothing but refineries and gangland, but in the past 2 years there has been a rise in crime. It’s becoming like Houston where everyone lives on the outskirts and drive in for work.
Amen! My husband and I lived there for several years, including back when it was a small, quirky city. We were married in a park there in 1975. It's turned into a beast. I have lived in 14 different cities in eight different states, and have visited many others. Austin has the very worst traffic. I have driven on the 405, in SoCal, during rush hour, and it flowed more smoothly than Austin traffic. Austin is also flamingly Leftist, so chances are you won't be happy there, unless you're a Commie. Great music scene though.

I lived in California for over thirty five years and now live in Texas. I can tell you that the same retail jobs pay $1 5k to $20k more in CA. Yes, please tell people not to move to Lubbock. I'm guessing the crime rates get skewed because the town's size makes it big enough to have crime but it doesn't have a big enough population to make the percentage lower. It's honestly a lot safer than a lot of other towns in Texas.
You’ve convinced me and I promise I’ll never move to Lubbock. Plus, it’s literally the flattest, most dust flying, least attractive town in this entire state. Seriously, I promise you I’ll die before I live in tat ugly town. So, no thanks

@@karlwithak. if you’re looking at violent crimes per capita your total population would be the denominator. The larger the population, the larger the denominator. Prairie View, is the home of Prairie View A&M University, not Texas A&M and majority of the people who stay there are College Student. Most working adults stay in the neighboring towns.
I have to wonder who produced this . I grew up in Lubbock , and have lived in Arlington /Fort Worth and Dallas . I'm not about to defend any of these places honor , but I don't believe the narrator has ever even been to Texas .
I live in Lubbock, and yes it is boring. But his crime stats are off. Yes there is lots of homicides and crime, but having a 1/16th chance of getting involved in a violent crime is not true.
I noticed that the narrator separated Arlington from Dallas-Fort Worth but it along with many other cities are in between those two large distinct cities in an area known as the “mid-cities” region.
I used to work for a wireless internet provider, and many of these towns were among where we provided service. Arguably I'm sure the boredom factor in these panhandle towns helped business aside from a slight advantage in speed's previous unmatched by line of sight connectivity (until Starlink), or cellular plans (data limits/caps).
That's "Prairie View A&M" NOT Texas A&M.. Also those salary stats are largely based on lower income college students which alsi accounts for the majority of the population.
I live in the valley and it's stretches from Brownsvill all the way to Laredo.. all these data collected on are bs .. come down and find out your self .. u gunna love it here
Well I'm in the RGV also. It's nice here but, property taxes are very high and it's very hot here. High 90s to 116 or so. Hard to do things out in that hot weather. It's easy to move around, we have some very nice roads here. Car prices here tend to be higher. I think that is due to a monopoly on the business. I think they could combine several towns like McAllen, Mission, Alton, Edinburgh and a few more into one city. These towns are all continguous. It's not bad here. We have everything any other city has and a lot more peaceful than many other cities.
Hidalgo is the perfect place to grow a family low crime rate not one single homeless person great schools and a close community ! Not to mention lots of events hosted by the city
Dude, there are plenty of homeless in Hidalgo. You just don't see them Cuz there are plenty of brush for them to sleep under. And the fajita Cook off is jot enough to entice people to come here. The biggest draw is our close relationship to Reynosa and it's maquilas. Hidalgo grew because of Nafta. Plain and simple.
@@rolandbachmann1743 first of all what homeless person sleeps in brush ? Second of all you typically see homeless people asking for money which are nowhere to be found in the city of Hidalgo and I’m pretty sure you might be talking of Hidalgo county as a whole and anyways why does it matter how the city or county grew this country was founded on the harsh labor of slaves and stealing from the native so doesn’t get much lower than that
I definitely don't trust the validity of any of your stats. The Rio Grande Valley, home to Laredo, Hidalgo, McAllen and Brownsville was the only region in all of Texas to see economic growth during the Pandemic. While there may be high poverty rates, everything is so cheap here that even the poor have housing. Nothing like poverty in Corpus Christi, Dallas, Austin, Houston or San Antonio where you see homeless camps.
What makes the RGV rank so low is the proximity to the border, and all the issues that come with that’s, health care is the pits, I worked in that industry over 20 years 15 of them in the mid valley, grew up in Brownsville but had to leave, best choice I made back in 2004, moved to Harlingen mid valley area had some potential, but typical valley style growth, and the allure to bring innovative industries to the RGV never took off, so like any other valley city, if you don’t work in Politics, Healthcare, Law enforcement, or Education there isn’t any other other major industry where one can work and thrive. The lower RGV is also one of the lowest incomes levels in the country, and has the highest recipients of Medicaid and other gov subsidies. As compared to other metro areas in the state minimum wage is still around 7.75 to 8.00 starting,
I'm surprised you didn't do my Hometown Corpus Christi Texas lately. It actually was ranked number 7 on the most dangerous places to live in the nation.

Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth... 3 distinctively separate cities, each with their own mayor, political, and voter base, are all part of the D/FW area spanning across multiple counties. All three have a plethora of entertainment, commerce, and residential options for each tax bracket despite cost of living differences. Arlington is in Tarrant County. Dallas is in the neighboring Dallas County. Yet the official stadium for the Dallas Cowboys is in Arlington. But that does not make them the same city.
I do not care what people say I love Lubbock. However the part about us being one of the most boring places, is highly accurate. There is nothing to do here except eat out at restaurants😂. You won't see me complain however, because I would much rather live in a boring City with good roads and low traffic, than live in a city like Dalles or Austin where it will take you twice the time to drive where you need to go due to tourists, than it would here. Also I feel that it is important to note that what was said about our weather is very over exaggerated. I have been in college in Oklahoma City for the last year and they have much worse weather. I doubt think we had a single tornado last year in Lubbock, but we had three or four last year in Oklahoma city, and I was told by those who live in Oklahoma that tornados are a regular occurrence. That is not the case for Lubbock; we seldom get tornados. Our thunderstorms are also not as bad as this video would have you believe.

There are a ton of businesses and kind and hardworking people. McAllen has a trhiving mall that has withstood the test of time. it is impressive! They have every brand you can think of. There are a ton of stores filled with merchandise, a ton of mom and pop businesses, a ton of infrastructure growth... freeways, stores, houses. From this Texans POV, half of the cities on this list are on the US/Mexico border. I'll give anyone 3 guesses why those particular cities are not the most ideal locations to move to. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to many, the Mexican cartels operate the border on both sides and have for many years. Hopefully, when a border wall is fully implemented, we will see substantial imprivements. That is whst we anticipate anyhow. Yes, Lubbock is boring. It sits practucallybon the middle of the state. It is a college town and the closest larger cities are Amarillo & Abikene, both which are just as boring as Lubbock. Arlington surprised me as it is home to the Texas Rangers and the Cowboys. Also, Six Flags abd Hurricane Harbor (formerly Wet n' Wild). But even more than this, Arlington is the central point fir Dallas/Ft Worth which makes everything accessible depending on which way one goes. Dallas/Ft Worth surprised me not because of cost of living but because anything and everything one could wish to do is somewhere around here. What truly makes things horrible, especially here in DFW is traffic! Too many people moving here too fast. I know it's a great state but if people continue to move here at this rate, we won't be for long.

I use to live in Arlington and can vouch that it’s too expensive or close to being too expensive. But that doesn’t make it one of the worse places to live in Texas. To piggyback off of what you said, the city has three major professional sports franchises, multiple parks and trails, Arlington Scottish Highlands off of I-20 and between Matlock St and Collins St have tons of eating and shopping venues let alone the rest of the city. I will admit it is a bit too expensive once again and why I moved. There are other cities on this list that have excellent family and single person venues and things to do. One more time, if he or anyone wants to do a list of ten most expensive places to live in Texas, that’s fine. On the original list of this video, I think I agree with only 2 or 3 for sure that belong on a list of ten worst places to live in Texas. How in the hell is Dallas-Fort worth on this list and not Austin. Austin is a more expensive city to live in than DFW.

What metric shows Dallas and Fort Worth as expensive, and not mention a word about Austin and Houston which are way more expensive than DFW? I think you have biased or bad information. The biggest part of your "10 worst" list are boarder towns which are now directly dealing with mass illegal migration.
Cost of living in Dallas is much higher than Austin and Houston
The video stated that Dallas (and Ft. Worth) are expensive and that's one of the main reasons not to move there. Austin is significantly more expensive than Dallas and wasn't even mentioned. That's my point.
Austin is more expensive.
High 90s is pretty much typical for summer temperatures anywhere in Texas. I love it.

Actually homes are getting harder and harder to find in Brownsville due to Space X and people flooding the area to work there.

Beaumont always gets a bad wrap because we get lumped in with Port Arthur which is nothing but refineries and gangland, but in the past 2 years there has been a rise in crime. It’s becoming like Houston where everyone lives on the outskirts and drive in for work.
Beaumont is just overall a terrible place.
That's why I moved away from the cities in Texas to some isolated land with few neighbors and lots of animals. Peaceful and quiet.
Austin, Do not move to Austin!
