I currently live in a suburb of Las Vegas, Nevada. SW Summerlin is fairly decent, all neighborhood are never crime free. What are safer areas for semi quiet but not fully quiet retirement area? I'm a keep busy retiree. My adult kids/grandkids live in WF, I want to be a couple hrs from there.

Former resident here, the crime rate has gone up. Rent is ridiculous. And the likelihood of you living near a sex offender is high. The property taxes have also doubled. Parents use to pay 1200 per year, now they pay over 2500. It is definitely becoming a micro version of DFW. The traffic is horrible. Years ago it would take me only 10 minutes to get from Weatherford to Aledo and now it's double that. Definitely a place to visit but not move to.

I will be moving in the net 6 months but not sure which area just yet.
@@thedfwhomeowner Has been since I lived there in the 70s/80s. I'd go so far as to say every single person in Weatherford has shared a meal or a drink with a predator. Do a deep dive into how many bodies have been discovered in Parker Co. Also, they just made the news again when a SPCA employee was caught on camera abusing / killing 40 kittens. Cruelty and abuse is considered a sport there. Crooked cops. Murders in the county jail.... the list goes on and on.

That was born in Weatherford in 1945 needless to say the town has changed a lot since then and grown tremendously I will say this it was a better place to live before all of it families in the Metroplex moved over there to get their kids away from the problems of the big city and just brought the problems with them Weatherford is basically a suburb of Fort Worth with many of the big city problems.
Sorry to hear that. Sometimes change does come with un-intended consequences. What other changes have you seen lately? Say...in the lsat 5 years or so?
I agree. I would also recommend folks not move there.
