    Hello Luke, I have been suffering from GI issues from a young age and it got worse with age.. I started having severe acidity, bloating etc, I couldn’t eat lot of the food because of that. I believe in natural remedies so didn’t opt for a quick fix. Tried all the natural probiotics until I came across this video. I can’t believe how it changed my life just like that. Within a week of me taking this all the gut issues disappeared. It’s 2 months since I started and I take it few times a week now.. Even though I don’t have any issues I still take it to maintain my gut health.. It’s so simple yet so powerful.     You need right microbes to:
    1. Digest food right way
    2. Absorb Nutrients the right way
    3. Assist Digestive Enzymes
    4. Bad microbes flulourish on- sugar, soy, GM, salt, processed food,
    5. Non- Dairy, The Great Indian Probiotic: drink it every day-
    In a large ceramic jar:
    3-4 medium beetroots Julianed
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 tablespoon crushed mustard seeds
    1L water-
    put water +salt+ mustard seeds in jar
    and add beetroot juliens
    Cover with a lid or cloth
    Keep near window sill
    A little bit of sun and shade is good, even if no sun, it's fine
    Keep 6-7 days, every third day stir with wooden spatula
    Taste after 6-7 days- if tangy, it's ready
    Have a glass everyday and eat beet like pickle
    Second: rice ferment
    Take left over cooked rice and soak in little bit of water overnight
    Next morning season with tempering of curry leaves, chilli etc and eatb

    We call it kanji mixer of carrot
    Beetroot.,mustard, turmeric & salt
    In north India very famous drink.

      I had never seen or had it, I am from north India. Do you know how is it drunk? I have received my order of kanji, but I don't know how to drink it, online people are saying it is an acquired taste, one review said they didn't like it and it was horrible. Do you dilute it? How much to drink in one sitting? Should it be taken with food or empty stomach.

      @@SA-cb2it Hi. I too was introduced to kanji recently. I don't think you should have too much of it to start with. Half a glass a day is good enough. Can have it any time. It is so easy to make that I feel you should not order it online. It practically makes itself :). I discovered a great way of consuming it, here goes -- Take half a glass of kanji, add 2 spoons of (or to taste) of honey or jaggery syrup, few ice cubes, and half a glass of chilled club soda (carbonated water). Stir. Enjoy

    Luke, this drink is really similar to eastern European beet 'Kvass' (beets, good water, and a healthy salt- that's it, and sit for about five days). I've made it a ton of times, and I love it. Delicious and super healthy. BTW, beet Kvass is originally from Ukraine and Russia. It can be made with variations, but the ingredients listed above are the simple basics. Can't beat fermented foods for gut health, which is what this video is all about. Thanks.

    Very valuable information people always forget about gut health only if they have issues they think abt it.
    In tamilnadu villages we take soaked rice in the morning which has got pre and probiotic and recently stanly hospital has also done a analysis of the same has come with remarkable benefits of eat soaked ,cooked rice overnight and eating with buttermilk.

    it is called Kanji. when we were posted to Assam I used to make it with black carrots ( which we got in Assam),water and mustard in earthen pot.

    There is a reason why we eat home made achars made without vinegar /citric acid. Because they are probiotic. Naturally fermented foods like dosa and idli are probiotics. These are the first things that come to my mind.

    Very nice video. Will make it. If this is probiotic then how to make prebiotic which is food for probiotic. Or should just make this beetroot probiotic and have a glass a day. I know someone with IBD crohns will this help. Thanks from California 🙏

      Traditionally, it is mustard seeds. That may have something to do with the properties of mustard. I do not think you should substitute it.

    We put rye in kanji to make it sour n for fermentation. Rye should be in powered form. I also add powered roasted jeera black pepper saunf Heeng.

      @@navyababra6150 I think it tastes really good, tangy ( like lacto-fermented veggies) but also very salty. One night I drank it before bed which was a major NO NO. Salt promotes frequent unination as the body tries to rid itself of excess salt. I like sleeping the whole night through.

      It's not rocket science really. if you just google, you'll find out what you need. Drink plenty of fluids. Eat lots of fibre. Drink physllium husk(isabgol) mixed in water 30 minutes before your dinner. Walk 10-20 minutes after each meal (or at least after dinner). Do these and then see if is makes a difference.

    U am a Maharashtrian and traditionally we have a particular proportion of raw koshimbir, and cooked food..besides this the salads are seasoned and we add oilseeds and tadka to it. It makes them easy to assimilate
