    I own the same colour RS660. Absolutely love it and am always itching to get out on it. Have done a 1250 mile trip up to and around Scotland for 5 days with no aches or pains. Would recommend one to anyone. Having owned a lot of bikes over the last 30 odd years I’m smitten with it. Superb real world road review 👍

      What about the Ducati Supersport? If u had to choose?

    • @BrateX98
      @BrateX98 Год назад

      would you recommend it for mature beginners ?

    • @Error-33
      @Error-33 Год назад

      @@BrateX98 not 100% sure but if you use lower power modes and belive you will have smooth throttle control you should be alright
      but ofc getting a smaller bike will make the learning way faster. if you don't wanna work with selling the old bike etc then this is an alright choice though but i feel like a beginner would have to use it in a really low power mode for a while as it has like 100 hp which is a little too much for a beginner overall

      @@spockbr18 I think so too, the Ducati provides enough comfort as sports abilities, and the Super Sport is stunning beautifull..

    I have mine in Lava red also, she is an absolute beauty and such a pleasure to ride. Totally confidence inspiring and almost telepathic to control. It's a smile a minute bike, saddest part of the day is putting her back into the garage. I test rode the Tuono it's not even close to the RS 660 in terms of fun and enjoyment.

    I love the power delivery of a middle-weight twin and it's great to rip the throttle open without passing into triple digits. Sometimes you want to feel like the bike has more than you can take. Good to have the H2 for those days!

    Loved what you had to say about it, Chops. I've got my 2020 RSV4 Factory, which I'm not going to give away under any circumstances, but if I were more reasonable, I would very much be eyeballing this beauty. I wasn't sure about the red-purple color scheme, but it does look awesome in the flesh. Aprilia really knocked this one out of the park. 👌

    Yet another excellent review. In fact, immediately after watching your video, I booked a test ride. The bike has become my No 1 candidate for my 65th birthday and retirement present, and imminent move to southern Spain (from BC, Canada). I can't get rid of my ridiculously impractical V4S, but the RS660 will make a nice, if not rather indulgent, complement to the bike, and will be ideal for more relaxed and longer rides especially in hot weather. Also, through you, discovered the Knox armoured shirts, which look great. So a big thank you. I always enjoy your reviews and your unbridled enthusiasm for motorcycle riding.

    Regarding the handling related to weight, you nailed it. Surprised no one else is really saying this. Took delivery of mine last week. While it is light, it doesn't feel as light as you'd think on the road, and it's not as "flickable" as you'd think. I think they did this to increase corning stability

    Hey Chops, they make a spray that scrambles your license plate for the Gestapo speed cameras, well worth the $30.00 USD. Its called Photo Blocker, you spray on several coats and bingo the camera gets a scrambled view and you get no ticket!

    I agree with you being a bigger rider myself also, the rs660 suites us bigger folks a little better visually. Even though the tuono is almost as big, naked bikes just look so much smaller when your on it. The bike is very beautiful gotta say, much better looking than the tuono, but maybe im just a sportsbike fanboy! Part of that grunt comes from aprilia using the crossplane crank on the 660's like yamaha on their mt07 giving it that v-twin'ish sound and feeling in a more compact package. Sadly you only get to ride them while breaking in, because a youtuber called "Cali Moto Tv" bought the rs660 and he said the bike got even more grunty after the first service, so it may be on a more power limited map from the factory. All said, once again amazing quality review Chopsie, keep them coming lad! Always so enjoyable and informational to watch😁

    Great video as always Chopsy. I am a complete Aprilia Fanboy since i was 16, now nearly 23 on my Tuono Factory. The 1100 scares the poo outta me lol so perhaos should've waited for a smaller one. The 660 has gitvit bang on i think. Lighter and agile than the thou's. Road-legal speeds for the the fun and making considerably more power than MT07's SV650's and the honda/kwak 650's.

    It’s like a blueprint for the ideal road bike in 2021 - all manufacturers take note ☝️

      do you not think a street triple rs is an ideal road bike??

    • @nivotron960
      @nivotron960 3 года назад +1

      @@trevorpeel3003 think the RS is better option then the Tuono 660 but this just ticks so many boxes with comfort, tech, spec - also, with the low down power delivery will feel just as fast point to point within legal and ‘semi-legal’ speeds. Looks damn cool too 😎

      What about being 1000 bucks cheaper?

      @@j.t.bumbaday1489 not in the U.K.,, it is only 350 cheaper and quite a lot inferior spec and performance wise

      @@nivotron960 i agree lovely looking bike but looking at its price,i cant help thinking its a case of the emperors new clothes compared to a triumph street triple rs

    Recently bought a 1999 Yamaha Thundercat for a stupidly low price. My first 600cc 'sport' after decades on 800s, 1000s and 1300s. Couldn't agree more.....even (much) older 600s are an absolute blast on the road.....
