One of the most insanely star rated friendships.
You got Ryan Reynolds whos best friend is Hugh Jackman
The you have his wife Blake Lively whos best friend is Taylor Swift.
So you have Hugh acting out the greatest showman and Taylor singing an naming songs after Ryan and Blakes children.
These kids live nearly every childs insane happy fever dream.

I gave the first two Deadpool movies 9/10. My friend & I both gave this one a 6/10. Too much fan service - and I say that as a comic book guy who appreciates nods to books.
The story was bogged-down with mediocre characters & a weak storyline. The "villain's" means and motivation were weak & uninteresting.
I'm glad I saw it, but I was surprisingly bored and uninterested way too often.

The entire movie feels like Ryan Reynolds own Disney Marvel experience.
    1. Deadpool given chance to join Earth-616 but have to sacrifice everything he loves. = Ryan's chance to join MCU but he has to sacrifice everything he love about playing Deadpool and conform to the "Marvel formula" aka "THE MESSAGE"
    2. Wolverine is the anchor point, Logan's death ends Deadpool's timeline. = Jackman's retirement as Wolverine ending Reynolds dream to have him in Deadpool 3.
    3. Deadpool looking for Wolverine to save his timeline. = Ryan campaigning to have Jackman reprise the role of Wolverine to get Deadpool 3 greenlit.
    4. Deadpool & Wolverine stuck in the void, that is controlled by the all powerful Cassandra Nova. = Writer's guild strike, constant meddling from all powerful Disney Marvel. Sidenote Cassandra killed a foul mouthed Chris feels like a jab at Disney Marvel trying to censor Deadpool's own colorful language xD.
    5. Deadpool took another shot at Cassandra to return to his timeline = Deadpool reshoots to refine the final cut
    6. Surprise cameos help Deadpool and said "I'm about to make a name for myself, tell everyone what happened here" knowing they probably won't make it. = Ryan's own attitude towards the movie, if this is the end for his Deadpool, so be it.
    7. TVA at the end told Deadpool "Whatever you did, somehow saved this timeline" = Ryan's surprise Disney allowed the R rating for Deadpool.
The ending feels like Ryan Reynolds is happy he done Deadpool & Wolverine the way he wanted. They're still not part of the MCU (different timeline) but he is happy if this is the end.

The jokes were fresh, it was very self aware and wasn’t afraid of making fun of itself, and the DP/Wolverine team up had genuine chemistry to keep people engaged. It was everything I could have ever hoped for, and then some. While my mind is blown that Disney actually allowed this film to be made, I personally loved every second of it. I'd also say the "plot" could only ever work for a Deadpool movie ...
I do think that previous deadpool movies were a bit more straightforward in plot, but then ... name any franchise that manages to be enjoyable after the first sequel ?
This is a trilogy worth keeping.

5:18 man this really is what I took from this movie.
It was a swansong for that truly flawed comic book era in the early 2000s that held glimpses of promise and earnestness in them despite thier issues.
Now everything is so corporatized and formulaic that these films will be held up as early classics in another 10 years.
And when I tell you i was dancing in my chair in the beginning and then teared up by the end I knew this film was something special and from the heart with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. And those credits with the behind the scene footage of those classic early days was truly an emotional gutpunch for me.

Finally someone who gets it! I came into this movie expecting a movie with heart and soul and passion to stand above the void drivel produced by Disney. And Reynold’s delivered. This movie had me swelling with joy and other emotions at the care put into this. Focusing solely on the flaws in the plot takes away from the spirit of this film that should be praised. It was a hopeful send off to the Fox properties.

The fight sequence to Madona's "Like A Prayer" left my jaw hanging open in awe. I hadn't felt like that in a movie in ages. And at the end when the smash through the glass at the back of the bus was a comic book moment we've all been waiting for with Wolverine. Finally, they unleashed the berserker rage from the comics than hadn't been depicted in any of the movies. And Jackman's emotional scenes were Oscar worthy. It's clear why he wanted another shot at the character because there was still moments as an actor that he hadn't done yet. Can't wait to see it again. I can't imagine what the first scripts were like. Reynolds must've be over the moon when Hugh called and said he wanted in.

This movie doubles down on several things that the MCU has been heavily criticized for: reliance on humor, narratively replaceable cameos, random references, gratuitous fanservice, swapping deceased characters w/ variants, pointless fights, gay content, etc... Yet even many MCU haters were entertained b/c it's all about the execution, not the approach.

I respect this movie for not sparing the rod of humor from anything and just trying to be fun.
I feel Casandra is a bit of a wasted opportunity though, I pray a variant of her gets to have a more serious movie appearance.
Also, I'm guessing how Chris Evans was brought in. Ryan calls him, Chris says he is not going to go back to play cap.

@@KC-kl6qc I don't believe that's true, Feige confirmed the project was always gonna be R-rated and not toned down. The only thing was there were originally many different ideas for this film. Some include a movie featuring many MCU deleted scenes from a different angle with Deadpool, Thor 2 frame-for-frame remake until the end of the first act, a fake movie that after a few minutes was revealed to be Deadpool and Wolverine, and a low-budget road trip featuring Wolverine and Dopinder. But, I also believe this movie was a small test by Marvel to see how R-rated Marvel films would do in theatres considering Blade and Daredevil are coming out soon.
