Phil and Sam, You will actually be surprised how many big Fleetwood Mac _hits_ were written and sung by Christine McVie. It wasn't just Stevie and Lindsey that were putting out the mega hits for the band. Examples of other hits written or cowritten by and featuring lead vocals by Christine: "You Make Loving Fun", "Say You Love Me", "Over My Head", "Little Lies", "Everywhere", "World Turning" "Hold Me" and "Don't Stop" (those last 3 songs are co-lead vocals by Lindsey and Christine)

Did you notice that there wasn't a single sound from the crowd, not even a cough to interrupt? The fans love and respect her, and the song, so much that NOBODY even tries to sing along. RIP Christine! Most people start by listening to Fleetwood Mac songs with Stevie Nicks on the main vocal and Christine McVie / Lindsay Buckingham contributing the backing vocal harmonies. However, Christine is responsible for writing many of the group's biggest hits and her lead vocal is every bit as much a part of their signature sound as is Stevie's or Lindsay's. Rumours is considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time but they have many other wonderful albums including the 1975 Fleetwood Mac album, 1987's Tango in the Night, etc. Lots more to explore. Enjoy the journey!

Many people focus on Stevie Nicks and rightly so however Christine McVie was just as important a part of the group as anyone. She wrote many of their hits and besides the two founders, she was the longest tenured member of the group. The “classic” lineup of Fleetwood Mac (the one with all the hits) was Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie (formerly Christine Perfect), Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
Christine, Lindsay and Stevie were the writers and singers.
The hits that Christine wrote for the group include: Over My Head, Say You Love Me, Don’t Stop, You Make Loving Fun, Think About Me, Hold Me, Love In Store, Little Lies, Everywhere. Save Me. Songbird was the B side of the Stevie song Dreams but it was very popular.
Of course there were also many other great album only songs like Oh Daddy

The band had 3 lead singers and 3 composers in this incarnation. And they worked together to make something far more than the sum of their parts. Christine actually had as many or more hits than did Stevie and Lindsey combined. She was affectionately known as the queen of hooks. As in musical and/or lyrical "hooks" that grab the listener and pulls them in. See: Say You Love Me; Little Lies; Warm Ways; Everywhere; You Make Loving Fun; As Long as You Follow, and so on.
And yes she was "Angelic" and is with the Angels now.

FWM would often times close out a performance with this song. Christine McVie was formally infused into FWM in 1970, but did stints with them prior to that. So, she was around for all the lead singers, Peter Green, Bob Welch, and the Stevie Nicks and Lyndsey Buckingham era. I have always felt Christine was the soul of the band. She wrote, cowrote, and sang some monster hits, my favorite of hers will always be Over My Head. Some FWM must-listens: Everywhere, Dreams, Sara, Little Lies, Landslide, Silver Springs, Over My Head, You Make Loving Fun, Hypnotized, Albatross, Think About Me, and many, many, many more! There are actually many more she did prior to Stevie and Lindsey joining the band, she goes back to the Bob Welsh years. If you haven't you should check out some of her older material. And she was in a band before that called Chicken shack.

I knew Chris when she was with Chicken Shack. One of the nicest people you could ever meet. Sadly missed.

I fell in love with her voice when she was singing with Chicken Shack. She was known as Christine Perfect then. Listen to her cover with CS of I'd Rather Go Blind.

Eva Cassidy does a beautiful cover of this song, how sad that they both have passed.

She had the most Fleetwood Mac hits. The group did make a fine album with Buckingham and Nicks and without McVie, but it just isn’t the same without her.
