As painful as it is to listen to the challenges in Martha's life, it is inspirational to listen to a survivor. I heard the key components of faith, forgiveness, and healing. Many thanks to Martha for sharing her story and thanks to Judy for giving Martha the platform.
I totally agree
Glad to have her join me and share her story.
Thank you Judy for having Martha on your channel to share her story. Thank you Martha for sharing from your heart. You've endured so much! You are a blessing!
Martha has played such awesome roles in different shows, but her strength to overcome her real life tragedies are what she should be applauded for. And I know how those tragedies feel sadly. Keep up your great work Martha the world needs you.
Absolutely.
Judy, you are a great interviewer. You allow your guests to talk and let your viewers get to know them.
Thank you. I’ve been lucky to have great guests :)
Martha is remarkable, I admire her strength ❤
Walton's and Little House my life then and now. Martha I'm a seasoned survivor of child abuse. How proud I am of you and all you do to help, support and love.
I'm glad you talked about how it affects peeps lives and how adversity abused peeps have to work at being free. Many blessings sent to you beautiful peeps.
I enjoy your interviews . You haven't changed much. You still look so young and pretty. Enjoy your day. ❤️
Thanks for joining us.
I just saw an episode with "Serena"'s character. It broke my heart seeing that beautiful innocent child now knowing how she suffered abuse. What a strong champion she represents speaking of her difficult life's journey. Keep rising above the wave. Many Blessings to you both.
Thanks for watching.
Wow what a strong lady , this was deep. Made a 58 year old man get real teary eyed , may God bless you Martha . Much success in the future with your organizations , thank you Judy for bringing Martha on for this segment.
It was my pleasure to have her.
I am so sorry for the loss of your son, Martha. You are a strong person who has had to endure a lot in your life. Thank you for bringing your story to us.
Martha, you rock! Judy, thank you for having her on.
Thanks for joining us.
@@judynorton2598 One of my VERY FAVORITE things to do is watch your videos. I've watched since the very beginning of your channel.
Oh my goodness I'm in tears, Martha and Judy God bless you both!! I always say there are no coincidences with you playing this role and how it intertwines with real life. I'm very sorry for your loss and thank you for all your work. Judy you are always a step above the rest second to none! May God bless and keep you both always!!❤❤❤
Thank you for your kind words.
Thank you Judy for bringing Martha on your channel. Thank you Martha for speaking about your time on the Walton and in the entertainment industry and for speaking about your personal life. I hope if anyone here has been struggling as you had views your a strength as an example that they too can rise above their trauma. Cheers!
Thanks for joining us. Martha is an inspiration.
I’m sorry as well she had to endure what she did. So glad she came out on the happier side.
A story of strength and resilience.
Judy, you have grown in your skills hosting BTS with The Walton's. You are a very good interviewer, among the best since the inception of talk shows. Unfortunately, I'm of an age where I can recall pre-Dick Cavett though I'd have to research people's names. You are among the most elegant, calm, mannered hosts! I am very sorry, Martha, for the loss of your son; the ultimate tragedy for any parent and not one easily overcome. It's sad so very many people in our country and around the globe have endured domestic violence and sexual abuse. More and more people every day it seems are stepping from the shadows to tell their stories and seek justice to somehow reclaim their life! I loved Little Joe/Michael Landon from Bonanza a Sunday evening awaited event in my childhood. He was just so very handsome and charming! I have watched only a few seasons of LHOP recently. I burst out crying during the episode the children were on the runaway train and Pa/Michael/Little Joe climbed to the top of the train car running from car to car ~ it was just so old timey Hollywood Western where Gabby Hayes always showed up in a few scenes! Truly loved Michael Landon. I wrote a short story ~ more of a prose poem that didn't meet with publication and I have since lost the story entirely. The title was: Magnify the Glory. Martha, you are rising above your personal difficulties and doing just that: Magnifying the Glory that is simply daily life and the people we're given to love. Your work is brilliant. Judy, your series is continuing to evolve into something grand!
Thank you so very much, Martha for sharing with us Walton's fans and Judy for facilitating this wonderful glimpse into the lives of the actors and all who helped create Earl Hamner's vision. Blessings and love to Walton's everywhere ~ when I write that I include us fans as kind of extended relatives and neighbors of The Walton's ~ "Squatters rights of the heart!" (I think that's from Robert Frost, I could be wrong.) ❤💐🙏🕊️
Thank you Holly, for your kind, thoughtful words. I appreciate your ongoing support of my channel.

She was a Incredible actor as far as being a child back then , and I miss and Remember Miss Rose to like She did a really cool job to on her role Miss Rose being Boss Hogs Wife on The Dukes of Hazzard to as Lulu if I spelled it correctly lol 😆 thx for sharing this Judy I hope your doing well
Peggy really was so talented and such a wonderful person.
@@judynorton2598 yes indeed good to talk to u again Judy lol again if I could send picture here that's what I'm watching now Walton's
So very sorry that Martha had to endure such trauma and tragedy in her life but glad that through her inner strength and faith in God she was able to overcome those difficulties and emerge strong and be an inspiration to us all. Thank you Judy for bringing her story to us.
I was glad to have her join me to share her story.
Such a powerful and informative meeting with Martha Nix. Such an incredible person who rose above it all and came out kicking her way and not succumbing to the inadequate feelings she had. What a beautiful soul she grew to become. Thank you again Judy for such an eye opening interview.
Thank you for joining us.
What a beautiful and courageous lady! Thank you for interviewing her for us. I liked Serena, and really missed her and Rose in the final season of the Waltons. I hope you can get Keith to sit and share with you sometime soon.
Thanks for joining us for Part 2.
I admire Martha's "resilience and restoration" stance. I was reading Viktor Frankel's book on "The Meaning of Life" this morning and was struck with the similarity. The search for meaning and purpose is the thing: the higher rung of self-actualization is a byproduct of that. And she is living it. Kuddos for Martha.
Thank you so much for having Martha Nix on for this two-part interview. You show skill by allowing her to talk without interruption and then asking additional questions for elaboration. Fantastic job!
Thank you and thanks for joining us.
Another wonderful interview Judy. I have the utmost respect for Martha. Her strength and fortitude are amazing. And how she tied her role as Serena to her life is beyond heartwarming. I'll be looking at her website!
She is inspiring.
God bless you Martha. 💐🌹 Our faith ✝️ is the victory. Keep on walking with the Lord. We're promised help for each day,
and we're promised so much joy for eternity.
I love listening to you. I hope youll come back again! 🤗
Thanks for joining us for this visit.
Thank you Judy for having Martha on. She shared her heart. Thank you, Martha for what you are doing for others.
Restoration and healing are definitely key and evident in your life.
Glad to hear all about Martha’s life story. She is an amazing woman who has been through so much and come out on the other side in a better place.
So strong and inspiring.
Martha is quite an inspiration and a lovely person! Thank you, Judy, for sharing her with us! It is clear to me that she knows that God has her back.
Thankyou Martha for both innerviews.Your a special actress.Thankyou for sharing your story.I appreciate Judy for Martha sharing how she was in the Waltons show.
Sending Martha a big hug. She has no idea how she is helping others.
She really is inspiring.
This was stellar, Judy. Martha is not just a survivor she is a thriver. I did get the website and will try to reach out to her through that venue. In the first part of this she said something which was life transforming for me in the way I view the abuse I had suffered. I hope I get the chance to thank her. Like her, I grew up in a family where you did what you were told and there was to be no refusal. Like her, I suffered; after much therapy and hearing what she said, I now know the abuse was not my fault. This, for me, has been the most healing interview you have done and I know that was not the original intent by you. So, I doubly thank you for this. I am free at last and she helped. Coincidently, my given first name was Martha ; only, I changed it due to the abuse. Kudos to her for keeping it. Thanks, Judy.
I’m touched to hear that this interview has been of such help to you. Martha really is inspiring and helping so many.
Lovely lady you are Martha best wishes from Scotland 😊💖💖
Martha is very articulate and an excellent communicator. She expresses herself well and definitely exudes a heart to go forward and not let her past or present awful circumstances define her. She has chosen to walk in forgiveness and to find the truth of who she truly really is. She is inspiring. Thank you , Judy, for having her on. Mary
I was happy to have her as a guest.
What a lovely surprise, Judy, to have the privilege of listening to your conversation with the beautiful, courageous, articulate Martha Nix! THANK YOU to you BOTH.❤ I must say, prior to hearing "directly " from Martha, I had read an interview of hers where she shared her tragic experience with sexual abuse, as a child. 😢 I had ALSO read about the similar plights of childhood actors, Alison Angrim and Todd Bridges! (Danny Bonaduce was also being physically abused during his stint on the Partridge Family, I believe. ) I remember doing the math, so to speak, and realizing that Martha, Alison, and Todd, all of whom are about the same age, were all doing their work on the 2 most wholesome shows on-air in the 70s - The Waltons and Little House - at the same time they were experiencing the unimaginable. So, here were these beautiful, intelligent, talented children - going to work regularly on these hugely popular shows, surrounded by caring people who had NO IDEA what was happening in their lives.😢 We, the audience, certainly had NO CLUE. 😞 I thought it was remarkable to hear that it was Alison who really reached out to Martha, during the filming of LHOTP! Well... nothing can be done about the past - sadly- but thank God Martha- and others - NOW have their VOICE - and are using it/them to help other victims. 🙏♥️ After hearing from Martha...I am so sorry - for her little heart- that the characters of Serena and Jeffrey were not brought back. I'm glad that she has remained resilient throughout her challenging journey and am HONORED to have had the opportunity to hear from her today! God BLESS her...and you, Judy! 😊❤❤❤ P.S. "Oceans" by Hillsong Worship is the ringtone on my cellphone. Amazing song!🎶🎶🌊🙏🙌♥️
Thank you for watching and for sharing your perspective.
Wow, what an amazing person to rise above all that she has been through and do it with a smile on her face. I have such respect for her. She’s a beautiful person.
She is indeed a beautiful, strong person.
Martha, thanks for your inspirational story! Such strength and character! Sometimes it really helps to know that others have experienced things as well, and have come through the other side better and and stronger!
Full respect and credit to Martha for sharing her story with us all and for being a true inspiration considering all the pain and tragedies she has had to endure from a young age. Every time I'm having a hard time, I will think of Martha and think it could be a whole lot harder. Thank you Martha and thank you Judy for part 2 today and best wishes to you from your waltonian superfan in a dull and grey England😉
Brave to share her story in the hope of helping others.
In addition to having had to survive those horrific crimes against her as a child, how tragic that she lost her son! And, yet Miss Nix made an excellent analogy of how 'The Waltons' gave refuge to Serena and Jeffrey from their own drunken abusive male parent and loved them unconditionally- even with their understandably chaotic edges and became their new larger family. And nice that she has done her best to help others who also have had to endure abuse and crimes and helped them learn how to relearn purpose in their own lives as she has done in hers. Thank you so much for letting her share her story with us!
She is very inspiring.
Oh my goodness. What an inspiration. Such a good perspective. Just love her. Prayers.
Martha is an amazing woman
Was in Montana for our granddaughter's HS graduation but are back now! Have found a lot of strength in Martha's words! I too am a survivor & found her to be truly inspiring to hear!
Thanks again Judy for allowing Martha this platform to share. She’s one hundred percent correct, it can either make you bitter or better. She chose to use this to help so many, God bless her!
She is a great example of triumph and purpose.
Thank you so much Martha for your candor and the amazing work you are doing. I love the characters of Miss Rose, Serena, and Jeffrey. You all contributed so much to a wonderful program and made it even more wonderful. ❤ You are truly an inspiration.
Thanks for joining us.
What an inspiration listening to Martha. So sad the hardships she went through, especially the loss of her son. That is the hardest thing to endure. I too, lost my beloved 19 year old son Shane. It is the worst pain in the world, and the sadness never goes away. Only God has gotten me through since the loss of my son.
So sorry for your loss.
What a wonderful interview with Martha Nix. Once again your channel not only gives such wonderful information on the Waltons. Your channel brings messages of hope from incredible people like Martha and what she is doing to make people who have been through trauma, lives better. Thank You Judy!
Thank you. I’m glad this channel has been inspiring.
Martha is a strong person, A few of my friends have went through the similar things and lost their sons. Her faith is a testimony for all of us
I can’t even imagine. So tragic.
Absolutely love Martha’s resilience and heart for others❤ She has taken her hardships and turned them for good. Amazing interview!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi, ladies! You are looking very lovely today!
Thank you.
Such a moving interview! Thank you, Martha Nix and Judy Norton!
Our pleasure. Thanks for joining us.
Oh my, what a gloriously purposeful life!! I am so very moved by Ms. Nix' conquering Spirit (notice the capital letter in the word Spirit...denoting God, our creator), having overcome and having made a terrible experience into such a valuable and life changing ministry! The first gripping comment she made was that she heard God say that He had given her life and who was she to take it away! Oh my soul, how very true...we are His servants and , wow, how true...who are we to take away His creation! We are no one outside of Him!! I am so moved by her grasp on the reality of life and for her to turn such tragedy into such triumph!! For her to have lost a son and for her to make such good of of it! The scripture says "All things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose!" Romans 8:28
Amen. I too, lost my beloved 19 year old son.😓. It is the worst pain in the world, and never goes away.😓😓
So sorry for your loss.
Martha really is inspiring.
Thank you Martha!! I hope Hollywood is becoming kinder to actors. You bring scripts to life! BTW, I met Michael Landon on set at University of Arizona in 1982 and the cast was fantastic, even allowed us a photo during a break!!
P.S. As Taylor Swift says...actors gotta act, so hope you still have a creative outlet for your talent!!
Your interview style just keeps getting better and better :-)
Thank you so much.
Kudos to you, Judy, for a great interview. It was great that you just let Martha talk without interruption. I get frustrated with interviewers who constantly interrupt and make the interview about them. Martha's story was both heartbreaking and uplifting. She's an amazing woman.
Thank you. She is so strong and inspiring.
This was a great 2-part interview with Martha! Thanks for letting her share her story with the rest of us. In true Walton family fashion, Judy, it was evident of the love and compassion you have for her and allowing her to vent these very emotional moments in her life and career with you and us. Daddy John would be very proud of you!
I remember Martha Nix on Day of Our Lives...Janice Horton....
Martha is such a kind & caring person and incredibly strong! She's made her way through the pain & is paying it forward by helping others. So in awe of her. Thank you for highlighting her story!
Thanks for watching.
Judy, your interview with. Martha was one of your best videos. You were so gracious in allowing Martha to speak about so many subjects that were considered taboo over forty years ago. Martha, I remember your performance on Archie Bunker 's Place that still moves me today. You are an exemplary woman for the work that you do for others. As always Judy you are an excellent host, and we are blessed to have your videos. On a personal note, this interview hit home on several levels.
Thank you for your kind words.
Bless her soul for all that happened to her . . She shows that she is a pillar of strength and I'm so glad she's helping others who have endured her pains in life. . I know that these things are very tough to process . . it sounds like she has landed in a good spot even though it seems she has questions in life. .but I can tell it has made her a stronger person.. may her days be full of true love and fulfillment. . Thank you Martha and Judy. . for sharing . I am sure this helps others just listening to her story. . BUG HUGS !!
🙏
Thank You, For Having Martha Nix Speak To Us. She is a Remarkable Person With A Lot Heart And Very Courageous.
A pleasure to have her join me.
Thank You for Telling Us about what You went Thru!! You My Dear Had A Rough Life. And You Came Back and Rebuilt Your Whole Life!!😮😢!!
Judy, this is a heartfelt and poignant interview that is both heartbreaking and inspiring. What Martha went through is crushing and sadly, not unique. I have read many stories of women who were actors and abused and came out and were basically tossed out of Hollywood because of cruel attitudes.
Please have her on again if you can. She has a lot to say about survival from struggle.
I am glad, based on what you have said, that nothing like that happened on the Waltons. I'm glad you got through that experience without trauma and now can share this experience on your channel. Thank you again for what you do. It's important work Judy. It really is!
I was glad to hear the environment on our show was a good one for her - wish we could have done more.
It's interesting to me that Alison Arngrim was so welcoming to her on the "Little House" set... And I wonder... in the wake of scandals at Nickelodeon and others... how many girls... children... were wrongly used...
Hopefully more children are finding ways to speak up and people are listening and helping to stop the cycle.
Prayers for everyone to get better
❤
Wow what a lady, what a life. Thank you so much Judy for inviting her on to share. I feel humbled and in awe of Martha.
She is quite remarkable.
Judy thanks for another great interview. You have to admire Martha's courage. I'm glad she's helping people
The series that Martha was fired from was pretty much the end of the line for almost everyone involved, not just her. It was one of three shows on TBS during that time which provided employment but did nothing to advance anyone's career. They weren't rerun and aren't well-regarded nor well-remembered.
Sounds like an unfortunate experience for everyone involved.
Jusy it was so interesting to listen to Martha and I'm so glad she survived what she has been through and i think its great to have the quarter blue to help other children get through what tgey have been through i hope she sees this look forward to the next one
Thanks for joining us.
It was incredible listening to her share her story. She will surely inspire many more people as they deal with their struggles.
It's so hard to comprehend how adults can do this to children and how sad and confusing when you are a child in Hollywood. I'm thankful for Martha's bravery and fearlessness to speak out and tell her story. Losing a son as well, turning so much pain into good, and thankfully hearing God's voice tell her to "live." He is using Martha to write an inspiring story of hope. Much love to her. ox P.S. I played the role of Patsy Brimmer (Debbie Gunn or Deborah Tracey Hewitt) and I was so thankful for my experience on set. So much of my life, (I am realizing later in life), was eclectic and surreal. As an immigrant it was so strange for my family at home and for us. The way I got into acting also unusual. The Waltons confirmed my deep interest in people, stories, and how everything was filmed. It sealed a visual sense I had for later on in life, becoming a professional photographer and now a writer. I loved being a part of something so iconic that has helped people along the way through their own life stories and grief. I joined the online forum a few years ago and a FB page and have met many wonderful people with testimonies to how much The Waltons meant to them, ..even saved them.
How wonderful. I’d love to connect with you. I sent you a FB message.
Oh my goodness, this woman is so incredibly strong! I am so sorry for the struggles Martha has had, but what a woman they have transformed her into. Amazing. Thanks for sharing this interview, Judy.
Thanks for joining us.
And the great interview continues. Very well done ladies. 👍🏻
Thank you.
Also loved watching Little House. I probably at the time did not realize it was Martha (Serena) from the Walton's. Glad she did have some people that did look out for her. Sad for the ones that didn't for her best interest.
Always Enjoy Your Shows! She Probably Helped A lot of People with Her experiences So sorry she Had To Go through So Much!
She’s helping a lot of others - so inspiring.
Martha you are so strong! I am so sorry for all you have gone through! Thank you for using your experience to help others! God bless you!
WOW! this was powerful!! So sorry Martha has had so many Challenges in life, but so wonderful that she has turned the challenges into great things. God has been a blessing in her life! Loved this !!
Thanks for joining us.
This was a bit different but wonderful visit with Martha Nix. I was able to relate with her over a couple of things she shared with us, shes so brave, and so inspiring! Thank you so much, Judy, for another great video!!!
Thanks for watching :)
Wow, very heart wrenching, a real survivor. Thank you Judy.
Thanks for joining us.
What a joy and a blessing Martha is. thank God for who she is and what she does to make a difference for the better in so many lives. God knew back when she considered suicide that he had a plan for her life. This was great Judy.
She has made her life into a triumph.
I hope what Martha dealt with does not happen to young actors today. It's sickening. God love her. Thanks for having Martha on Judy.
Thank you for watching.
I remember her from these shows, mostly the Walton's and how good she was in Safe At Home. Such a gifted and pretty little actress, it's so tragic she had to go thru that turmoil and abuse. She was putting on some weight, but had a real future in her career, to be blackballed and lose her connections to the industry she loved for taking her own part when, apparently, no one else really helped her. It is so obvious how bright she is too; well, I'm very glad to see she recovered her self-image and has handled life like a real trooper. God bless, Martha.
Martha Nix, you are truly an inspiration! 💕
That is what my husband and I did with our kids and their friends! Our home and our hearts were always opened
How kind of you both. I’m sure it was greatly appreciated as a haven for those in need.
❤thank you so much ❤
Martha is truly inspirational. Her resilience is amazing. Thanks Judy for another incredible interview.
Thanks for joining us.
Wow. In a world like we have today where folks like to play the victim, it is so inspiring to see someone overcome having been a victim for real, and make that the focus of her life. She made a choice to recover and be resilient. Martha has certainly been through a lot, but my goodness she is a survivor who is making a difference. Also liked her expression regarding looking over the waves - such a great visual to understand approaching challenges and troubles in life. Thank you for giving this lady a platform to spread her wisdom and outlook on life.
Thank you so much for joining us. Glad you found this inspiring.
Really an epic interview with Ms Martha. Thank you Ms Judy and Ms Martha. God bless you both. A inspirational story of your life Ms Martha. 👍.
Wow..kudos to you for being yourself and sharing..these are the kind of people who give hope to the world!
My God what this woman has been through! The abuse, her son killed. Her endurance is amazing. Strong determined woman. God Speed Martha!
She is quite remarkable.
Great 👍 video always wonderful insights on not only the show but life thanks Judy
Our pleasure.
Judy, I love your channel with all the different aspects of a show that is memorable to each of us differently, but I must say that you really shine as an interviewer. You know what and when to ask and you know when to sit back and let the interviewie move forward with a massage or idea, Thank you!
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Judy , I really love this video with Martha. It touched my heart deeply, I've had friends that killed em selves and family too. Martha thank u for sharing your story with all of us.

Hi Judy and also hi Martha! This was such an amazing interview. I really loved and enjoyed watching this. Martha is so amazing, a beautiful and wonderful person and an inspiration, she inspired me ❤ I loved watching her as Serena on The Waltons and recently watched her in season 8. She’s so strong and an inspiration to us all and thank you Judy for having her come on your channel :) also I want to tell you that I just got a Waltons pillow that I designed and a Waltons t-shirt. And I hope you have a great rest of your day and a wonderful weekend ❤
Love,

Thank you for joining us.
All I can say is wow. With true tears in my eyes big hugs go out to Martha Nix. Very bad situation for her as a child actor. Adults that took advantage of her then totally blocker her out of her true dream. Glad she has her platforms to bring awareness for others who are going thru the same thing or have gone thru it already. Praying hoping wishing Martha may have anther in somehow. Now it would be interesting to hear from Keith. Thanks for this very powerful interview.
Thanks for watching.
Wow Judy, thank you, thank you. This is one of your best interviews. Everything that Martha says is profound and goes straight to the heart. She is as real as rain and is a true Walton. There wasn't' one bad seed in the whole Walton clan. Judy I hope there will be a part 3 and 4 with her. I will rewatch your interviews with her because there is so much hope and help to grasp.
So glad you enjoyed this.
Sorry, I couldn't finish all of the second episode, is is so intense.
As you may know, I follow your page and know a little about what you endured as Judy. I am just so glad you had a father figure. Ralph/ John.
Oh by the way, John was my favorite one of the Waltons.
Judy and Martha, please stay strong, that is an order young ladies. ❤️
Thanks for your kind words
So good. Both Judy and Martha... Thoughtfulness in your questions and responses. Yes Love ... and now I'm watching an ad for a bew Jim Caveizel movie about rescuing children from sex trafficking, "SOUND of FREEDOM."
This is why The Waltons us still watched. IT'S THE WAY LOVE IS DEPICTED IN EACH EPISODE. Thank you Earl Hamner Jr.
So many impactful stories.
What an incredible interview! God bless you Martha Nix!
