I don't remember seeing this episode when it was first shown. But, ever since I've seen it in reruns it's become one of my favorites. Especially around Halloween. I'm wondering if they had the young minister, or maybe no minister on the show at that time. That may have been why Olivia ended up going to the library instead of the minister at their church.

Judy, I have ro tell you that among the things that sets The Waltons apart from all the other shows for me is the musical score of each show. It adds so much to the enjoyment. I hope whoever did the score won lots of awards. Keep up the good work Judy. Love you!

My favorite scene is when all the siblings came into John Boys room one by one. It’s so cute how Ben, Jim Bob and Elizabeth were in his bed together and then he got annoyed with everyone and kicked them out. Elizabeth saying how John Boy wasn’t bothering them and he replied how they were though. I felt bad for him at times, he was an old Mother hen. Just in the Homecoming, how he yelled at everyone to calm down about the Christmas decorations for the tree and then one of the parents on him about his temper. “Well I’m tired of being the oldest, I feel like an old mother duck.” And Olivia replying “Can’t do a thing about that now you’re stuck with it.” Some people were acting like that was disrespectful of him to say but no I saw his point, his parents chose to have all them babies. Also with Mary Ellen, is totally relatable, girls are judged more in society and it’s ridiculous. Growing pains as a young girl is rough. Even now, as a young woman of a new century, I still have to be careful what I do and say. I immediately went to that music video of Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Can’t believe it’s the 40th anniversary of the song !! 💕💕😂😂😊😊🦆🦆

Hello Judy, John, and Ralph. Back at home after our plans for our 50th Wedding Anniversary when my left lung sprang a leak and collapsed. I think I may have injured it a few months ago when one of our old dining room chairs broke and sent me flying backwards to the floor.. I so much enjoy the times I have with you all and hope to have many more. Have to get either a lighter butt or a stronger chair. Looking to hear from you soon. Nancy is doing well after her back surgery but really hates going to therapy. It really wears her out.

I liked this episode because to me it was really cathartic and poetic because of Grandpa’s fear of him dying and the actor who played him died later on during the show. We all have a feeling when we will meet our end or know our time on Earth is up. Whenever I look at the stars, I like to think my Dad is one of them up there watching over me. One time I recall looking up at the sky one night and it was twinkling, I thought it was my dad communicating with me somehow. Elizabeth was such a sweet little sister supporting Ben in this episode. She was so empathetic, thoughtful and so considerate of others. I loved it when the Walton kids went to see the star, they ran into the Baldwin sister’s cousin. The way Elizabeth was hiding behind John Boy was too precious, and her facial expressions to how the cousin was talking and behaving !! I was like “Well, he’s certainly snooty/uppity cousin !!” I loved Grandpa Walton, he knew BS when heard, saw or smelled it. I loved his relationship with the Walton sister’s, protecting them and their family’s recipe !! 😊😂

What about the Ed and Lorraine Warren stories and the cases they dealt with related to some of this kinda stuff ?! Not just that, but other events similar/related to this ?! Like with the Annabell doll, the actual one is a Raggedy Ann doll just like the ones they used in the show. The a doll is locked up in the Warren’s Museum and for others safety, no one can open it or touch it. Research shows that other people who knew what they did was their only child, Judy Warren and her husband, Tony Sepra, who worked under both her parents, and became an demonologist. I would love to ask them questions about everything but their probably sick of it and I don’t want to bother them with it. They deserve to have a life without hearing how they’re related to famous and well known paranormal investigators ?! Did you hear stories about the couple and the cases they had ?! Did you ever play with a Ouja board before, and did a lot of kids back then played with it too ? And what was the hype about it ?! I don’t ever want to play with anything like that or mess with anything supernatural because a wise person once said “You kids keep playing with these mess. You know what’s going to happen ?! You keep playing with the devil it’s gonna show up.” It all started during the second half of the 19th century when America was dealing with the Civil War, changing country life and so much more. People were trying to seek answers in any way they could. Lecture circuits, seances, and other ways people could communicate with the dead and this also led to unique business opportunities. This was known as the spiritualist movement growth and people were using items similar to Ouja before it was even a thing. It’s hard to say who really invented it but the person who sold and represented it said that the person came up with the idea while sitting in his kitchen in his new house. He placed a breadboard on the table and held a teacup over it, the same way a person would hold a planchette over the board. Once the person’s hand moved, they realized they found a way to access their subconscious. This was a step forward for talking boards, saids the representers of it. Then, obviously the popularity continued into the 20th century. I recall seeing people online playing with the game in the 60’s and 70’s. Your thoughts, ma’am ?! 💭💭

Hearing from these gentlemen never gets old. I am a fan of other vintage TV series as well and Ralph's creative footprints are wonderfully represented in those programs as well. For example, in two of the music performances by the Partridge Family, Ralph set the camera behind the group as they performed to get a few alternate perspectives. Completely outside the norm of the standard shots you would see on that TV series, and it worked so well.
