I just wanted to thank you for these interviews. Yesterday, I sat down to watch an episode of the Walton's and noticed Ralph Senensky's name come up, it made me smile that I could put a face to that name thanks to your videos.
Thank you, Judy, for an interesting segment with Ralph and John. I appreciate all the information and the insight about their excellent careers in the filming industry. ❤️ 😃
I just love these chats with John and Ralph, their stories are just so interesting and funny. I feel like I'm there with all 3 of you as I watch your channel on my big oled screen at home and feel very much a part of the action. Thank you Judy and best wishes as always from your waltonian superfan in a warm and sunny England😉
Judy, I have ro tell you that among the things that sets The Waltons apart from all the other shows for me is the musical score of each show. It adds so much to the enjoyment. I hope whoever did the score won lots of awards. Keep up the good work Judy. Love you!
Hearing from these gentlemen never gets old. I am a fan of other vintage TV series as well and Ralph's creative footprints are wonderfully represented in those programs as well. For example, in two of the music performances by the Partridge Family, Ralph set the camera behind the group as they performed to get a few alternate perspectives. Completely outside the norm of the standard shots you would see on that TV series, and it worked so well.
This is an example of how RUclips can be so valuable. These conversations will be preserved for their families, friends and fans for years to come. Thank you.😊
Unfortunately, YT removes accounts at will at any time. I've heard many former RUclipsrs who had 100s of videos and a half million followers. They were eliminated out the blue and no one would give them a specific reason why. So no, YT is not the answer. Judy's account could be gone tomorrow. X would make more sense.
@@duanebarbic3786 - Judy is good at reading comments so I bet she will see our discussion here. My guess is that she does save her videos locally and wouldn't rely on YT as the only repository. I felt terrible for those people who lost all of their content for unknown reasons.

There's something very comforting about watching an episode of The Waltons on TV (I just watched the season 3 show with John and Olivia celebrating their 20th anniversary) then coming over to RUclips and seeing a new Judy Norton video. Thanks Judy. 😊❤
This is truly wonderful!!! I’m looking forward to every bit of it all, and it is such a real blessing to see Ralph again - what a priceless treasure he is in so many ways! Thank you for this, hon!!!
Wow, John Dayton worked with James Stuart, that is amazing. James Stuart was famously in It's a Wonderful Life along with Beulah Bondi (Martha Corrine). Judy you are so lucky to have worked directly with these incredible actors or worked with directors who worked with them. Very special. 🙂
Looking forward to more parts to Chat 2. Ralph is amazing with his recall. And I can never get enough of John’s stories of Kate. He really should write them off all down in a book. I would definitely buy that! Thanks as ever, Judy, for setting these up!

Judy! I'm late but I would never miss a segment with the beloved and revered Ralph Senensky & his other co-host very likable John Dayton! When the 3 of you team up, my heart lights up too! something about this dynamic duo makes us all feel comfy & welcome. When Ralph quips to John "You said it I didn't", he says it so matter-of-factly yet wittily, you gotta break a smile! & How Anthony Quinn recovered from the coffee table fall accepting flowers was improvisational directing at its John Dayton best. 😁😁😁 I hope you and your guests know how they brighten our day simply by talking to us. Sometimes I wish it were once again December 1971 and in school and church we rehearsed Christmas carols, and at home we wrote Christmas cards and baked cookies and the TV commercial announced a special premiere and that evening of Dec 19 we hurried to clean up the kitchen to watch The Homecoming. The opening pan shot of the snow-covered mountains, the sound of wind, and the narrator's voice, then the delicious music and children traipsing in the snow caught my attention immediately and the rest is history. Much obliged! ❤️
Dear Holly 💜 Me too. I was a very young child in the 70's and I miss those days leading up to Christmas & Christmas movies. It is a sentiment filled with excitement bursting and unforgettable. Although we relive it throughout adulthood and with our own children and friends, I often go back to a time when we were children; filled with anticipation for Santa Claus (I was!) the music, cookies, and togetherness. The Waltons remind us to cherish the memories we have and the moments we have now. Judy's channel brings the past and present together in this one fantastic place. I too am much obliged! ❤❤❤
Holly, I loved Elementary School, and just about every Teacher I had as a child. As a Teacher, you must've celebrated with your students and decorated the classroom around Christmas. I remember my Teachers making that time extra special for us. And They often spent their own money doing so, buying us little treats on Christmas and other holidays. ❤💚
Aww, you two, Judy and all her guests dispel every myth of what Hollywood people are like! To hear Ralph emphasizing "it's OUR time!" You're all so earnest and humble! I can't thank Judy enough for creating this wonderful opportunity for all us fans to listen, learn, and engage with all of you! That was very funny about the flowers, John! Im glad to learn Mr Senensky also directed Star Trek! Im not a huge sci-fi fan but I loved Capt Kirk and everyone in the original cast! Great imaginations! I loved Jimmy Stewart in Its a Wonderful Life and The Glenn Miller Story which was very moving! John, I noticed you have a cat tree and wondered if you might sometime introduce your cat(s) to us! Mr Senensky, I wondered if when you were little your teachers noticed your incredible memory for details? I have read a few of your blog stories and always listen here and just wondet how on earth do you remember so much detail? Very talented! Judy, you are quite the interviewer ~ always well-spoken, and generous; especially you let your guests share without interrupting them! Quite refreshing! Bless you all and Walton's everywhere!❤
Hi Judy, a few questions. 1) John mentioned how important sound is to an actor. In reference to Jimmy Stewart. I honestly have never acted so I'm not entirely sure why that's a big deal. Can you elaborate? 2) I have a request. I would LOVE to watch a panel of those on the Waltons who went to college (you mentioned three including Kamie) to talk about that transaction between high school (as a function of the on-set schooling you had) and college and how difficult it was for them to adjust to that environment. What were the positive and negative things about all of that. Thanks!
On the sound issue. When you are in a scene and others are talking, if you can’t tell where the sound is coming from it will impact your reactions as you can’t turn toward the sound as someone would.
Hello Judy, John, and Ralph. Back at home after our plans for our 50th Wedding Anniversary when my left lung sprang a leak and collapsed. I think I may have injured it a few months ago when one of our old dining room chairs broke and sent me flying backwards to the floor.. I so much enjoy the times I have with you all and hope to have many more. Have to get either a lighter butt or a stronger chair. Looking to hear from you soon. Nancy is doing well after her back surgery but really hates going to therapy. It really wears her out.
Managing our health as we get older can be a full time job - for me I also try to put as much focus also on activities that challenge my mind and creativity. :)
Hey kiddo...you mentioned that a part may sometimes seem like "another kitchen scene" ..is it the directors responsibility to make the scene fresh for the actor or the actor make the scene fresh on their own or both? Love these segments.. hugs to ya
It’s a combo IMO - Our job is to tell the story the best we can. You don’t want to shoot every kitchen scene exactly the same - which they didn’t. It’s also up to each actor to bring new energy to each scene no matter how redundant it seems. That’s where theatre training helps - being able to repeat something many times, but make it new each time.
I just finished the whole series. At the end of season 9, the narrator says Good Night. It was very fitting to bookend the show that way, instead of a cilfthanger.
Judy, I like what you said about actors sometimes falling into a rhythmic rut late in a long-running series. My go-to example is the great Harry Morgan as Colonel Potter in the last couple seasons of M*A*S*H. Part of the problem was the writing (overdoing Potter's homespun folksiness), but I thought many of his scenes with Jamie Farr as Corporal Klinger were badly overacted. I just wish somebody had asked Morgan, whom I always loved, to please dial it back a bit.
Hi Judy, as you know I love watching the reruns of The Waltons..but I was curious in season 5 knowing Richard Thomas is leaving after the five yes are up, whT confuses me, is why would he go to the ends of the earth to have his pressing machine..he sells his piece of land but then regrets it! My question is did he ever pay it off or did the family get a press machine they didn't want lol. 😂
Great question! Since it was never mentioned in the future as a problem we can assume somehow John Boy kept making payments. I don’t believe he would ever leave the family with his debt.
Hi Judy how is Michael Learned doing haven’t see her active on social media . All so I know you maybe have covered this already . Was the house fire shot on the back lot or in studio the house
I haven’t had a chance to talk with Michael for a while, but I believe she is doing fine. The exterior house fire was shot on the back lot and the interior house fire scenes were shot on the sound stage house set.
Thank you Judy ! I love looking back with the commentary from your guests !

I always like to believe most actors would appreciate good direction.
I wish you would talk about the night walker show
I did speak a bit about The Night Walker episode. Here is that link: ruclips.net/video/BS0bkqTX-OU/видео.html
@@judynorton2598 he must have paid it off when he sold his piece of land..I'm gonna go with that lol 😂
Question in one episode there was a time that Jim Bob and Elizabeth shared a room together. How was that when the girls slept in the same room
I’m thinking that was very early in the series - in some of the first episodes many things were still being worked out.
Was the house very small
Judy I will say that I loved you when you were growing up in the show. I still watch this show everyday
