This film was extremely well done. I watched it for the first time and saw her name in the credits for *DIRECTOR*. So so proud of this woman and her illustrious career. Definitely one that needs to be appreciated and given her flowers.
I don't. black women don't need more stories like this. There are far far more interesting black women to tell stories about but Halle insists on telling the ones where we look dumb, masculine or hypersexualized, all stereotypes that real black women have to fight against daily.
Gotta love Halle Berry. She's such a great actress and gorgeous one might I add. Oh so she's directing a movie for the first time? I'll definitely check it out when I can
why is this mixed woman always down to make black women look so terrible? either highly masculine or overly promiscuous. We don't need that representation, it's harmful. She's such an awful human.
Halle is a credit to black women, to shining her spirit in her films, for rising above downsides and heartache and so much a credit to Black and Beautiful. And Trevor Ñoah has had a fan in me for a while. He is growing up in his element greatly,
Halle Berry is decidedly not black. She uses the black that she has in her for her own gain and to seek power in Hollywood that she doesn't have the talent to obtain otherwise, "it's finally time for black people to tell black stories" before she proceeds to make a film about a black woman who is ONCE AGAIN tough, belligerent, unmotherly, unemotional, and manly. Problem is, she doesn't have to deal with the consequences of constantly being portrayed as super humanly strong and manly. Trust me, when you are at the doctor's office in pain, you don't need doctors that have somehow formed the idea that you need less care or sub-par care because you are capable of taking the pain......wonder where they get that idea from. Halle Berry is destructive for black women due to the images and tropes that she keeps presenting that create negative stereotypes around us. Stereotypes that are getting us killed when people think that we are soooo much tougher than we actually are. She really needs to stop.
@@rosejames5172 Racisits, please leave Halley alone, she doesn’t call herself biracial, besides biracial people don’t have it any harder than blacks so why praise a fish for swimming by saying credit to her as if it is so hard for her to succeed!

In August 2021, it was reported that the MMA star and former UFC fighter Cat Zingano filed a lawsuit against Berry, Bruised Film Productions LLC, Thunder Road Film Productions Inc. and Romulus Entertainment LLC on August 16 in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking damages on claims of promissory estoppel. Zingano states that Berry has offered her a role in the film during a meeting in July 2019. According to Zingano, after she was offered a UFC fight set to happen later that year in October which would put her in title contention, she was advised by Berry not to take it for insurance reasons. She turned down the fight and was subsequently released by UFC in August 2019. Zingano then alleges that Berry informed her shortly afterwards that she could not appear in the film, as only current UFC fighters were allowed to take part. The suit also states that Berry ceased all communication with Zingano following the incident. In court papers filled in November 2021 by Berry's attorneys, it was stated that Zingano lost her UFC contract due to her poor record in the organization. The documents also claim she made the decision to appear in the film without knowing what role would she play or how much would she be paid, and did so based on text message exchanges with Berry. According to Berry's attorneys, Zingano does not state what her damages are and is improperly seeking punitive damages.
