    17:04 Charles Oakley was Jordan's protector during the early years. If you tried to injure MJ, you had to deal with Oak, who is one of the baddest men to ever play. Oakley used to come into the store where my aunt worked. She's telling me that one of the Bulls buys stuff everyday at the store and she rings him up on the cash register. She describes him. And I say *that's Charles freakin Oakley, Jordan's best friend,* you gotta get his autograph for me. But then the Bulls trade him. It's was one of the most painful days.

    Managing Jordan should have been a dream. The management is what made it a problem. Reinsdorf is still the owner of the team and they haven’t won anything since. They were lucky to have Jordan be so committed to winning. Fans especially

    Dr J is Julius Erving. He was a lot of guys mike and Scottie’s age favourite player and tbh the reason we have the high flyers like MJ coke through the league.

      @@DNReactsShowtimeYeah high-flier is the best description. He was somewhere between vince carter and michael jordan. He was elite and basically the first guy to demonstrate you can achieve success running the offense thru a fast, dunking forward. He was a lot of kids’ favorite player.

    Bulls still went 24-11 without Scottie. And finished tied for the best record in the league 62-20 overall! No doubt they were better with him. But still the best team without him! Thats how good those teams were. Kukoc was killing it too. When Scottie was out!

      I trully believe the Pacers and Jazz were better teams that season. In my opinion the 1998 Pacers and 1998 Jazz were the best teams their franchises ever had. The Bulls was the oldest team in the league and dealing with a bunch of injuries. However, they were hungry to win that 6th ring and were more experienced than the other teams,mainly when it comes to winning. They also had Jordan of course, who averaged 32.4ppg in the playoffs despite teams averaging only 91.2ppg. For Jordan to lead the league in scoring, make the 1st defensive team(4th in Dpoy voting), win the Mvp, win the All star Mvp, play without his best team mate for half of the season, then excell even more in the playoffs and win the ring + finals MVP at 35 years old is just unreal. Not to mention he didn't miss a single game since his basketball comeback, so fatigue was certainly an issue.

      @@DNReactsShowtime No Problem. "It appeared that Bally Sports Southwest didn’t appreciate the comments made by Dallas Mavericks analyst Brian Dameris.
      Dameris went viral over the weekend after he went on a lengthy rant about James Harden’s move to the Los Angeles Clippers and why he was a problem.
      Well after Bally Sports Southwest posted it to their account on X, it was quietly taken down. "

    Scottie had every right to be pissed and every right to want out. The bulls literally gave jordan half of the salary cap. The cap at that time was $78,000,000 and jordan was getting $36,000,000. Jordan was being selfish as f*ck. You cant call Scottie selfish for wanting to be paid an amount that was even remotely fair when you're personally getting half of the cap

    • @DNReactsShowtime
      @DNReactsShowtime  8 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah of course he did, just didn’t sit right that he left the team high and dry like that because he signed a bad deal. He deserved so much more than he was getting!

    • @jdubb007
      @jdubb007 8 месяцев назад +6

      But the salary cap was irrelevant back then as it wasn't a hard cap, nor was there a luxury tax (and where are you getting that it was $78,000,00? The cap didn't reach 70M until 2015 or so) Once you signed a contract, Reinsdorf was not going to tear it up and re-do it (for Pippen or Jordan or anyone). It did not matter what Jordan or anyone else was making. If Reinsdorf wanted to renegotiate with Pippen, he could have. Also, Jordan signed the same long bad contract which he outgrew the minute he signed it. His was for 7 years as well and he never complained or sat out. Knowing Reinsodrf if Jordan asked to re-negotiate he would have said no as well.

      MJ had been underpaid for a long time. His salary ranked out of top 30 in the league, as just 3,850,000 in 95-96, at the same time Ewing's salary was more than 18,000,000 per year. But MJ never engaged in negative competition nor complained about the payment. He just waited until the contract got over. No doubt there were quite a few teams would like to pay him over 20,000,000, who wouldn't?

    • @brandonhinrichs4393
      @brandonhinrichs4393 8 месяцев назад

      @@dhy6179 justifying his selfish behavior. It's obvious that the man's a narcissist and probably a sociopath. And that's the only way that you can go through life treating people the way he did. Now if only he cared half as much about winning as an owner as he did as a player maybe he wouldn't have the worst franchise in professional. But since he doesn't care about winning and all he cares about is making a profit that b******* team can expect bulshit results every year because he does not give a s***

      MJ made his money from Nike. MJ tried to get Scottie to get a deal with Nike but he refused. Whether Scottie was just jealous or felt underrated is his problem. No one hated Scottie but Scottie himself. He has done a lot of damage to himself. How bad could he be? He is one of the greatest defenders of all time and is in the Hall of Fame. I’m very disappointed at Scottie’s bitterness. Michael always included Scottie as his equal. Scottie has hurt himself.

    MJ was doing yearly negative win loss records until the greatest coach of all time and Pippen helped him out. MJ’s teams made the playoffs without him while LeBrons teams drop to lottery pick status when he leaves them

    • @deafboricua21
      @deafboricua21 8 месяцев назад +8

      MJ actually helped Pippen to be the player he became. Pippen didn’t become good without MJ’s guidance. Phil Jackson simply installed the offense that had the right personnel to buy in to be unguardable. That’s why the team was good but couldn’t win championship without MJ during those two absent seasons.

      Pure sillyness in your post. Lebron only won something with literally 2 other stars with him. He and those stars dominated a very weak east is entire career until he went to the lakers.
      Jordan dominated a stacked east when he played.
      Your post is as silly and ill thought out as most lebron fans. Due is a great player but he is NOT the best by a good bit. Much less being better than Jordan. Jordan dominated on both sides of the court his entire career. Bron only got a lot of HYPE for his defense. He never played top notch defense all games all year. The whole can guard all five posi stuff was another over hyped aspect. He ver every very rarely came close to doing that.
      Bron never will have the impact on the game while playing or after retirement that Jordan had.
      There's a reason bron wears number 23.

      Yeah, but 86 MJ was playing against the showtime Lakers and Larry Bird. Would love to see what the early Lebron Cav's would have done against them with 1980's rules and absolutely no ref calling pretend fouls.
