The thing that’s so impressive about Joe is he can take a topic he doesn’t know a lot about, and relate it to other things and get a grasp on it so quickly
Hey. We exist dude lol I used to play my fuckin heart out when I was in school but I discovered music drugs and women. And this documentary got me back into B-ball
Jordan was more than a basketball star. He was a human who possessed mental abilities that no one had ever thought possible in a human. To see it was literally unbelievable. This is why if/when another Jordan type athlete comes along, it will be obvious. He will stand above all others and surpass anything we think is logical.
MJ is the greatest athlete of all time. He was the biggest athlete in the 90s (and probably one of the top 3 most famous human being in the 90s) and still regarded as the goat today. He didn't have a lot of controversy, was a nice guy (maybe not on the court) Almost everybody knows the name MJ around the world. Not only was he the goat at basketball, he was around at the perfect time to bring the nba and his popularity to the top. Being the GOAT + being in the 80s, 90s = Best athlete ever. I can't imagine what it is to be like Mike. This man was THE man. I can't even imagine being this famous. He handled it pretty well.
I like how Jordan was talking about how people might not like him after the doc but it seems to be quite the opposite has happened and he’s being respected even more
Jerry Salmon not really. I think what ever you thought before the documentary, this just amplified it. The people who loved him already are just being louder about it.
Bills Mafia Member I wasn’t talking about me I’m talking about how all of the talk of whether or not Lebron is the goat has really been silenced based on the younger generation really getting a chance to see Jordan’s greatness first hand
It’s because everyone who cares about winning or being tough appreciates the fact he probably accomplished and kept that mentality movin forward post nba while knowing not everyone will agree with him cause of different reasons but even those people know deep down he has a great mentality they just rather be comfortable with what they have or complain a
The guest clearly didn't pay attention to the series, Kobe wasn't on the prime of his game or physical condition, Kobe wasn't even a started in his team that season...
I played Bball all my life through college and for Joe to notice that "In the midst of sheer chaos, you still have to find stillness and make that perfect shot" without even being a Bball fan is an amazing observation. Probably the best way I've heard Bball described ever. And he doesn't even watch Bball or care. Lol. Props Joe.
Watched each episode atleast 3 times each already Shed a few man tears along the way too One of my favorite docs of all time and it’s only half way done
They're great, for all the bullshit ESPN puts out they do not disappoint with these documentaries. This and the OJ doc are some of the greatest docs ever. Great in different ways, I think the OJ series is very important though.
Could you imagine how much more amazing JRE would be if Joe had more sports interests...imagine having a 3-hour podcast with MJ or Rodman...that would be awesome!
I remember he retired the first time because some fools murdered his father in cold blood. He played baseball because his father loved baseball and was hoping he became a baseball player.
Or he had to take a couple years off for his gambling on the nba games. They didnt need a pete rose type situation. Then he came back with the 45 jersey to sell a few of those to pay off his debts.
@@robloxkingboss1135 that doesn't make sense. He didn't throw any games, and the documentary even showed he went against management's decision of losing for the lottery picks to win. No. 45 was his oldest brothers number in hs, 23 was half of that rounded up. He wore that baseball and carried that over to the NBA for a bit. If he was suspended for inside trading, journalist and investigators would've sniffed that out. They didn't.
Nah he won three in a row because the lakers, Celtics, pistons couldn’t do that. He proved he best ever. He was planning before his second title that if he won the third he would try to go to the mlb. Also, baseball was bigger than the nba and there is more money.
@@robloxkingboss1135 no doubt!! People think you're implying he threw games... I don't think he did that and I don't think you believe that either... but he was for sure betting on basketball and way in over his head with the mafia and numerous others when it came to gambling debts. That's a fact. And it's comical how ppl really think and believe he wanted to play baseball all along... Huh..??? Never once... never ever was baseball ever brought up in Jordan's career as a goal of his or something he might pursue. NEVER!!!! But ppl will casually throw it out there like it makes sense, where it makes zero sense, but dismiss he was suspended from basketball for gambling like it's some sort of reach. But there's tons of evidence. Plus everyone knows how one track minded and obsessed Jordan was with being the greatest ever and he literally just snatched the crown and title of being the Man.... then he just retires bc it's too easy and he's not motivated... Hahahaha. Yeah fucking right... he was finally where he wanted to be but was forced out. Less than a week after his "retirement" the whole investigation was closed... Like you said, better to be "suspended" I mean retired than get busted red handed and banned for life. You're also right about the 45 jersey's. The thing with baseball is he stays relevant in the news, ESPN and with Nike. With him playing baseball they're selling different jersey's, hats, cleats, batting gloves and so on.... And one more point from the baseball scam... he says he was burnt out and wanted to spend time with family and unmotivated so he leaves the sport he's greatest at to pursue a new sport at a low level.... What? Just proving he still had the motivation and desire and drive to compete... Crazy how ppl will ignore this shit just bc they idolize him... I mean I'm a huge Jordan fan and this doesn't change how I feel on how great he is at basketball.. hahaha.

For a person who does not like basketball, Joe Rogan gave THEE best description of basketball that I have heard so far.!. Awesome!! "Finding stillness in the middle of chaos."
Running backs you use strength and speed but basically you try to hold on to the ball, quarter back there is accuratesy depends on your target usually through high or low in an area for only the receiver can get, a pitcher is solo on the mound, and soccer which needs most skill you generally use any part of body to score plus the goal is huge. Basketball you need to measure angles on J's and layups
@@joshuaaguilera7997 nah, players don't fill out their frames until early/mid 20s. a lot of these freakishly tall nba players are still dealing with growth spurts in their teens.

Frustrating to listen to ppl talk about something they know nothing or very little about. They didn't even mention MJ's father's murder played a significant part in his decision to leave the NBA. His dad always wanted MJ to play baseball. Also, Kobe had an all access crew follow him during his last season, it'snot an uncommon thing. Fans have been knowing about this MJ doc for yrs. MJ finally gave it the thumbs up. We are so lucky Kobe was part of it before his heartbreaking death.
He's wrong, Kobe wasn't 18 years old in that game. Kobe's first all star appearance was in '98 and he turned 20 that year. Early 20s Kobe was in his peak physical condition. Watch his rookie highlights, he used to just fly through the air...and then slowed down a bit as they put weight on him. That's only physical condition though. Can't compare a 20 year old kobe to a 36 year old Jordan.

Last Dance is amazing and I wish we could get more episodes Centers around Phil Jackson. He’s ability to control a team and motivate his players. It’s the reason he has 13 championships and won 3 with shaq and Kobe through all their personal struggles
Im not a fan of basketball at all, but i got addicted to that documentary. It was super inspiring. Michael Jordan is a freak!
I just finished watching it, I've never been so inspired from watching a documentary, one of the best I've watched
Joe “they was doing lines but I wasn’t” Rogan
George Quinones 😂😂😂😂😂
The thing that’s so impressive about Joe is he can take a topic he doesn’t know a lot about, and relate it to other things and get a grasp on it so quickly
Yeah, he can take any sport and turn it into either MMA or wild animals.
M J Grasscutter Ok.. it's not that serious
@@deucepickle2091 hahahahha, so true.
The best way I can describe MJ in a sentence is this: Michael Jordan is the basketball version of Goku.
LOL
Lul not bad i guess
Chase Jordan it’s like you try to be clever but you just end up looking fucking dumb
Chase Jordan I meant the comment below you I misclicked yo name lmfao
No way, Michael Jordan is Vegeta if Vegeta won all the time. Goku is wayy too nice of a dude to be MJ.
I honestly can’t imagine life and not having an interest in bball
Same I can't comprehend lol
Hey. We exist dude lol I used to play my fuckin heart out when I was in school but I discovered music drugs and women. And this documentary got me back into B-ball
What its boring i would be down if it was still physical
too many fouls in basketball. once the players and refs stop being pussys then il start watching
I love that Joe doesn't care for basketball, but he respects how hard the game is. Top man.
Coaches Everywhere: There's no "I" in TEAM
Michael Jordan: Yeah, but there's an "I" in WIN . . .
Excerpt from The Last Dance Episode 4
@Paddy C great point about the desire to be coached
There is a 'me' in team...
There's no we in team either captain spelling bee
I diedd when he said that lmao. I love MJ
joe: “in all this chaos there’s stillness” rogan.
Dante Rugiero 🤣
I grew up watching Jordan and loved it he was amazing and he made everyone wanting to watch every game he played in
Jordan was more than a basketball star.
MJ was over rated as fuck, but he was still the goat. But people act like he was a unicorn, his team needs more say lmao
“I know you’re not a big basketball fan”- coming from not a big basketball fan
😂
word
How u know hes not a basketball fan
@@petergriffin6223 cuz he described a '98 kobe like he was one of the best players in the league

The way Joe, who is not a basketball fan, describes basketball is so perfectly accurate it give me chills.
It’s because everyone who cares about winning or being tough appreciates the fact he probably accomplished and kept that mentality movin forward post nba while knowing not everyone will agree with him cause of different reasons but even those people know deep down he has a great mentality they just rather be comfortable with what they have or complain a
I loved the way Jordan Peterson described MJ. He had a mystic-like ability to be COMPLETELY present and give 100% in the moment
So well said. I've never paused and rewind a film or Doc like that. A masterpiece!
This is the perfect insight from someone who doesn't play basketball but understands the sports. 7:07
7:41 joe’s shot broke af😂
i came to the comments to see if anyone noticed that! hahahaha wtf
Still better than most jumpers on 2k lol
The guest clearly didn't pay attention to the series, Kobe wasn't on the prime of his game or physical condition, Kobe wasn't even a started in his team that season...
Wasn't even a starter and made the all-star game? That's awesome.
who the fucks care about Kobe, its a documentary of Michael Jordan. Wake up
He meant to say Kobe was young and Jordan was on his last legs and he still owned.
@@danielpagan2848 That i agree on totally. my bad. Kobe is kobey, but MJ is MJ
Kobe was a pervert !
I cry all the time watching the docu. And the editing with the throwback tunes! 10/10
I played Bball all my life through college and for Joe to notice that "In the midst of sheer chaos, you still have to find stillness and make that perfect shot" without even being a Bball fan is an amazing observation. Probably the best way I've heard Bball described ever. And he doesn't even watch Bball or care. Lol. Props Joe.
“Apparently” Bird was ridiculously clutch because of his prep. Dude was the prototype
Tony Smith he decided to play an entire game shooting left handed so he could save his right for the lakers: he ended up putting up over 40 points.
Josh Langston last game of a west coast trip vs Portland
Bird was the goat, before Jordan. He's the second best of all-time after MJ!

Joe: No I haven’t seen the last dance yet
MJ: you just gonna not watch my doc? I see how it is, that’s all I need!
Joe, as a fan of both MMA and basketball, I would like to request that you invite Dennis Rodman to do your podcast.
Watched each episode atleast 3 times each already
Shed a few man tears along the way too
One of my favorite docs of all time and it’s only half way done
They're great, for all the bullshit ESPN puts out they do not disappoint with these documentaries. This and the OJ doc are some of the greatest docs ever. Great in different ways, I think the OJ series is very important though.
Nah it's not that deep
Shed tears? Wtf? Nothing sad to see so far. You're absolutely pathetic for this.
watching joe talk about basketball, is like watching me try and talk about MMA
Tyler Brantley you got a blackbelt in basketball bro?
Word is he didn’t do too well at the poker table with the legendary Tom Sosnoff.
Could you imagine how much more amazing JRE would be if Joe had more sports interests...imagine having a 3-hour podcast with MJ or Rodman...that would be awesome!
Hard to watch - only Jamie sounds like he knows basketball.
haha
LMAO!!!
So true
Exactly
I mean I'm a huge Jordan fan and this doesn't change how I feel on how great he is at basketball.. hahaha.
Roblox King boss Lmao
Yeah, because the NBA needed a 45 jersey to make money off Jordan products. WTF are you smoking? Haha
Joe Rogan doing his best Dennis Rodman impression at 7:10 lol 🤣🤣🤣
I truly believe Micheal would’ve be an all time great in any sport because of how competitive he was
Like baseball

For a person who does not like basketball, Joe Rogan gave THEE best description of basketball that I have heard so far.!. Awesome!! "Finding stillness in the middle of chaos."
Kinda like a wide receiver or a QB or a running back with huge dudes running at them full speed to take their heads off?
LOL doesnt every physical sports require that?
Running backs you use strength and speed but basically you try to hold on to the ball, quarter back there is accuratesy depends on your target usually through high or low in an area for only the receiver can get, a pitcher is solo on the mound, and soccer which needs most skill you generally use any part of body to score plus the goal is huge. Basketball you need to measure angles on J's and layups

Kobe was definitely not at his peak condition at 18 lol
SO digginit no but thats when male athletes hit top physical condition that’s why they come in so young

Micheal Jordan competitiveness is so unmatched to anyone else.

Been wanting to hear what happen when MJ and Kerr got into it in practice. Thankful that’s the next episode. 🙏🏼
The rest of the season one episodes leaked so I watched them all. I'm not a big basketball fan, but the Jordan and Kerr incident was interesting. The way both of them handled it heightened my respect for them as competitors, athletes, and humans.
That dude exaggerated the Kobe episode so much lmao added shit like a mf hahaha
"Even tho Kobe's 18 yrs old and in peak peak peak physical condition..." man I had to pause and laugh at that part. Wtaf is he talking about??

CusWeAre obviously look how young he is
kobe with peak condition at 18....are you high?dont respond...we all know the answer
I scrolled just to make sure someone commented this...peak physical condition Kobe at 18 lmao
Did-my inner peace Disturb your demons imagine saying at 18-20 that’s not your peak physical state
04 kobe or 06 kobe
Lets just not forget that great production, editing, etc etc can make things look greater on video.
