This is part 2 of the Building Bruce series. Here, Grant Stevens breaks down the Bruce Lee's martial arts training and conditioning. Building off the routine provided in The Art of Expressing the Human Body, Grant adapts Bruce's training to a more modern set-up.
The result is a combination of bag work, shadow boxing, and agility ladder that will help improve cardio fitness, striking speed and power, footwork, agility, and more!
Combine this with the strength routines provided in part one, for a full, modern Bruce Lee inspired training program.
I'm really psyched to have Grant back on the channel! Let us know what you'd liked to see in future. And stay tuned for much more like this. We're still celebrating 100,000 subs!

make sure you stick to it! heres another exercise that would help if your aiming for the speed of bruce use sound or a sound as the instigator to fire out a punch or a kick.... this will help improve your explosiveness and make you almost superhuman in terms of anticipating a punch or a kick coming towards you.... like shadow boxing, and you can also turn this into a game.... so for instance everytime you hear a ring of a bell throw a punch or a kick as quickly as possible and chamber as quickly as possible.... so basically your almost mimicking bruce lee there in the video where hes looking at the mirror throwing out punches.... even better is to turn this into an ongoing exercise.... so like the drinking game you drink everytime someone or something happens you throw a kick or punch everytime someone says a key word or something happens this will test your concentration, alertness.... i did this for 24 hours to 2 days straight freaked out friends and family and strangers but boy was i fast... even trickier is if your holding shopping in both hands or something, you feel your twitch muscles twitch and acknowledge to yourself that you caught the instigation without throwing or kicking or getting thrown in a jail cell for freaking out bystanders... even better if your able to complete a punch or a kick while doing something else without endangering yourself and others around you...

When I started out training with my father years ago, it was Wing Chun. Because that was his style, then as I got older and continued my own training I incorporated TKD, JKD, Choy Li Fut, hell I even started incorporating some of the moves from games like Shenmue into my training. I also added boxing, I added wrestling for grappling purposes.

This was a great video and I am surprised how quickly it was uploaded. I knew it would've probably been pre-recorded before the first part but I thought it would've been spaced out a little longer. That's the great thing about this channel. Well, one of many great things about it. The fact that everything is so well done and nothing is held back. There are plenty of others who would easily do so or make one or two videos into a series of short ones. That's not challenging toward creativity and ingenuity.
This was well produced and edited. I really like the simplicity in all of the details and explanations - which makes sense, given the philosophy of Bruce's art. It was also a nice welcome back to Grant. I've looked forward to seeing more of him from last year's videos and hopefully there will be more collaboration in the future.
Thanks for all the research, documentation, videography and other (lovingly so) hard work and dedication into the video and the subject matter. Have a great evening!

*He speaks about intention, IN-TENSION, tension withIN ! there's little or none. It's hard to move away from being mechanical,as Bruce said. This means, mind FIRST, after technique, form, forget the technique, etc. The movement is from in to out, NOT otherwise ! Not only most don't get the essence of Bruce's brilliance, even if you get it, applying it rests on you: do it->it does you->there's no technique or you, but A TOTAL movement ! Another thing he said"real competitor gives his best ALL the time"*
