Thanks so much!! My mom’s vintage Malaysian Barbie’s head just broke and this will help so much!! Edit: the neck plug was a bit different so i had to do some other methods, however using the jewelry wire was incredibly helpful and i was successful in reattaching her head!!
I’m going to try this but with a ball of clay because I don’t have big enough beads. Thank you so much with an at home fix for people who don’t normally mod dolls. Every other tutorial is like “use this fancy plug you have to buy online or salvage from another doll”
Aah! This was a super mega *ultra* *enormous* help! I just got a very cheap doll who had a neck attachment that's uncommon (the Gothic Girl dolls from Dollar General) and the peg was broken in a way that couldn't be repaired, but this bead method did it perfectly. I can't even begin to thank you enough, 'cause this doll is very important to me for reasons.
Hi. Never throw away barbie dolls. If you don't need them you can sell them or give them away. Even if they are broke. Someone can still use them to practice repaints or something. I don't mean to sound rude. just giving my thoughts🤗😊🙂
Thank you SO much for this video. You're a genius! My favorite doll is a Harry Potter Draco Malfoy doll, and sadly the head broke. :( I was so worried I would just have to glue it back on and not move the head again. But I tried this idea and it worked SO well! I'm so thankful that you shared your idea. It really made a difference. Draco and I thank you! Keep up the great work. ❤😊
This is perfect, thank you! I bought a bag of dolls from the thrift store that has an old 90s Barbie in it with her head broken off. At first I thought that I was just going to have to toss her because the peg was completely snapped in two, but this looks like it will work! I’m going to try and save her.
This is exactly the same thing that happened to my doll and this helped me, thank you so much I was freaking out when I broke it, I was trying to take the head out and soften the hair but it broke. 😭 thank you so so so much!!
when I was a child i utterly hated when this happened, because i would only put the head back on without that tiny piece, and the doll looked totally funny and bad, now i'm here to watch how it can be repaired, it's a nice solution wish i had known lol anyway thank you
Many thanks this helped a lot. Needed to fix a doll for someone and your video helped show me how the connection was meant to work, so I used a wire cable tie to link the parts together.
I created new neck pegs for my Made To Move Dolls by using pipe cleaners, and buttons. And it worked. It also works for my Made To Move Yoga Barbies since the buttons on their neck pegs are really small.
Cool this saves on having to buy another one of your favorite barbie dolls and then you probably couldn’t find her again. Thanks for showing how to repair you’re old barbies I will do this if my barbies get accidentally broke by me lol 😂.
Thank you for making this video! I’m currently having to remake the neck peg entirely and fix the neck (my dolls 18 years old 😅) Odd question but do you know what size bead that you used was? I’m looking on Amazon and they have 6mm,8mm,10mm and bigger 😅
I’m so happy it was useful - I’m really not sure but you could measure across your dolls neck hole and buy some slightly bigger than that - the bead needs to fit tightly into the head - hope that helps 🥰
What kind of thread is it? Is children's vinyl glue okay, or vinavil-type glue? Because years ago I repaired it with bostik and it got encrusted. Is the ball a haberdashery button? thank you
@@PhillipMurphy-sq2qb you need one that is a little bigger than the hole in your dolls head - so that you need to push to get it in and it will stay - hope that helps
@@JayDollsUK its a very similar neck to rainbow high ....if not the same so it could maybe ...broke my emi vandas neck joint 😢so at this point nothing to lose ...thanks for reply
@@estellasreborncreations6411 Hola, puedes repararla sustituyendo el sistema de una barbie "made to move". Yo sustituí los cuellos rígidos de mis muñecas de la serie 2 "Amaya y Krystal
Ooh that's a better idea than the glue gun! Especially because I have tons of wire and beads! The glue is a good safety thingie. I am an adult collector so won't swallow it lol...well I hope Not!
Will this work if the neck plug is inside the doll’s head? I have a doll that I neglected for a long time. I recently found her and I moved her head not that forceful and it came off her body with the plug inside her head. I tried removing it but it’s incredibly hard. She also has a chipped neck which I cannot fix.
Hi there I think that if the bead will fit inside the dolls head with the neck plug then it should still work - i fix broken and chipped necks with the acrylic that is used for false nails - i hope you can fix her :) :) :)
What do I do if the neck peg breaks off with the plug? I got a doll at a thrift store and both were detached from her neck and her neck plug was the only thing that I found (in her head)
As long as there is still a bar across the inside of the neck you can still do this - otherwise I would try gluing a bead to the top of the neck - make sure it fits into the head well first - hope that helps
Nicole Shivers Hi there it’s quite a fiddly job I’m afraid but i hooked the wire at the end and then fed it through the loop left in the neck and then I used tweezers to pull the wire through - like I say it’s tedious but worth it in the end :)
Efsun Lal Aciksoz yes you need to get the wire through the round part of the neck plug which is still inside the dolls head - it is not easy to do but it does work - try to make a hook in the wire and then work it through the round part of the neck plug

My ben boy doll from descendants this happened to him and i cried all night ;_( im still crying right now. I took him everywhere i went even to school. I even snuggled in bed with him every night. Also, is there another way to do this? And can i do this to boy dolls??

Hi I got a doll broken peg round broken in neck to put new peg in do brack off what's holding the broken peg to put new one in
You need the bar that’s holding the broken peg to fix the wire to - you may even be able to fix the wire to the broken part of the peg
Can the Barbies head go up and down and side to side and hold the position?
Hi yes it can move in the bead as long as you don’t glue it and you get the right size bead for your barbies head 🥰
@@JayDollsUKthank u
Won't the wire make the doll green like the old earrings did with Barbie ears?
This was done a few years ago now and it didn’t send this particular doll green but I couldn’t guarantee it wouldn’t other dolls
Thank you!
