If my head split after I was finished rerooting, can I still use the liquid fusion to fix it? Will the glue chunk the hair if it gets on it near the scalp? Thanks so much!
You're my savior once again, I was removing the factory hair from a barbie fashionista (#126 if anyone is curious) and the head ripped right along the front of the hairline. I'm trying a different glue at the moment but if it doesn't work I'm immediately getting this.
It is amazing, I would like to have something like that here in the UK, because buying the liquid fusion cost a fortune, and the delivery too, because it comes from the US
Thank you for another great tutorial! I can't seem to find this brand of Liquid Fusion ... Joann's and Michael's have a similar one, Allene's brand urethane glue. Will that brand work as well?
Carol Chisholm I looked on michaels.com, amazon and couldn’t find the liquid fusion she shows in this video, but they have Allene’s. Did you try it? Im at a loss and need to fix a scalp split ASAP. 😫
@@jeremybrevik4623 I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to be a very similar product. I think it might be important to let it cure for a couple of days, as shown in the video.
Hey there thanks for this informative video. Just have a question, wondering if it is safe to use the liquid fusion on a doll with hair still rooted in it? Bought 2 fashionista barbies and the scalp had a split in the hair line and they were still new in the box. It would be great if I could somehow glue it back together and keep the hair still in tact. Or would I have to remove all the hair, glue it, then re root a whole new set of hair?
thank you for this tutorial :) I was wondering - I don't have this Liquid Fusion glue but I have E6000 which also consists of polyurethane - can I use it instead?
Please tell me I found the solution to fixing my vo Tage gdr sandman doll head? The neck ripped off the cloth body and this is better than my first idea of sewing it on 😭
Thank you for the video - my question is how to close a crack by the ear (Barbie has a holw for ear rings, but there is a crack from the hole tothe head now). Thank you for your response.
@@melaniespiller8894 I eventually used loctite vinyl adhesive for the doll hair split and it worked really good and didn't split when I rerooted through it. I let it set for 48hrs tho the instruction on the pack says 24. Have you tried loctite super glue? That might help fix the arm. Loctite seems to have great products and it's super cheap too.
@@lem1874 I will see how the Liquid Fusion goes, but thank you for your suggestion on the Loctite vinyl adhesive. I have tried all number of super glues (even ones where you have to apply a pre-glue medium to give the actual glue "grip") but nothing has worked so far.
Are there any alternatives to Liquid Fusion? I was rerooting a doll and her scalp split along her hairline, and I don't know if I should continue before fixing it. I'm just 14 and can't leave the house, so heading to Joann's isn't an option.
Rachel Nelson you can go to a Joann’s lol. Just ask your parents when they get home. It’s not like you’re helpless. I certainly wasn’t at 14 Andi could leave the house.
@@PrestigiousBrat I did and you can't, I had to pull the hair out of the split and glue it then. But when I went to reroot the head split right back open
I find sometimes using some pliers and a needle and thread and stitching the head back together works a treat. Just make sure that after you secure everything real good with glue and depending on the root job/thread colour you may be able to see the stitches after. Or using headdresses and hair styles to expertly hide the stitches can help too!
After rerooting the perimeter of my doll's head it split so a large portion of her scalp is now loose...since there is already hair there I was wondering if there is a way to fix the split without removing all the work
It's possible but tricky. You have to make sure all the hair stays in play WHILE gluing and when you hold it. I would hold it for at least 10 minutes if not longer.
I was wondering if you could do a video on fixing a doll that has a hole in the back of the head - like where maybe a spinning hair piece was. I found a doll that has a circle in the back of her head and idk what to do to fix it other than giving her a pony tail. She's so pretty but wearing her hair down is not gonna happen.
Can you do a tutorial on boy barbies that have painted on hair with no hair hole plugs and show us how to make the.holes and give them some actual hair
To seal a split in the head? You can, but it won't work, just like I mentioned in the video. Liquid Fusion works because of the polyurethane component. I have tried many types of glue.
I have one last hope with wire and clay (no apoxy in my country) for the neck peg area,as for rerooting I don't even have a tool,I was actually planning on gluing yarn wefts on.I don't have doll hair either, nor the funds for it,so yarn would work well.I probably won't find a replacement, since I checked the doll and two things came up,she is from a line that is not in stock anymore where I live, and there's no way to remove the hair unless I cut the head open (probably why the doll was in this condition).Well rip.
You get a thumbs up just for having imperfect nail polish on. Thank you for keeping it real.
oh my gosh, my first attempt at rerouting split the scalp and weirdly enough I OWN LIQUID FUSION. I can fix it right now!! yaaay!!
Just in time, I have a handful of split heads here 🙈 thank you so much for the info! 😘

What do you do when the head splits while you’re rerooting, or over a part you already rerooted?

How does the Liquid Fusion repair hold up to heat setting (boiling water or steam) the hair after rerooting @The Doll Planet

Would you recommend this for the 60s Barbie heads?
