Very cool video Dan, a friend and I were talking about this exact subject the other day. Christmas nostalgia is strong, and the toys that werent figures that I remember are many. For me it was the Monster Machine, a battery powered vehicle that had a ludicrous number of wheels that they claimed could "Climb anything!"

I'm of an age where Action Man was the only action figure available in the UK. Big toys for Christmas were usually big diecast models, made by Dinky or Corgi, and those that were TV tie-ins - from shows like Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, or UFO (Dinky), or Batman, James Bond, The Man From UNCLE, (Corgi), etc. I still have all mine, too. Battered from play, but I wouldn't get rid of them. After I was about ten, all I wanted was plastic construction kits. Easy to buy for, I was.

That pocket bowling game is absolute brain-candy! I love travel games and travel distractions like that--speaking of travel board games. The idea of something to pass the time on road trips or (nowadays) train rides and hotel stays, O yes. It appeals to me in a certain soft way. It's cozy.

The trick with that plane Dan, is the propellers peg together after you take them out of the case. I had the Helicopter and it's propeller worked the same way.

"I like shiny things!" - Literal Magpie Dan XD
I was a British kid of the 90s and, like a lot of British kids of the '90s, were enthralled by the revitalisation of the Gerry Anderson series like Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet (for some reason our TV stations started showing them all again...I think there was an anniversary, coupled with the development of VHS...things like that), so my big toy nostalgia is the Tracy Island playset from Thunderbirds. Tracy Island for 90s British kids was kind of what the MOTU Castle Grayskull was for 80s American kids. I think that it was even the Number 1 Christmas Toy in the year it was released in the 90s (must have been '95)...I remember opening mine up in the middle of the living room all those years ago...And I no longer have the Thunderbirds themselves, but when the 50th anniversary recently came around, they re-released them, so eventually I grabbed all the vehicles again and they have the best home, because I also recently dug out and cleaned up my Tracy Island and the electronics still works. ^^ FAB!

MEMORY UNLOCKED! I had the helicopter pocket power and launched it on Mark Hughes roof. My father had to match his 30 foot ladder down the street to fish in out of the rain gutter. Haven’t thought about that in decades….

The video is interesting, you talk about the toys that marked your childhood, here in Argentina 🇦🇷 we had other toys, both Bootlegs and original ones.
But without a doubt, the true toys that marked my childhood were Rambo, Ghostbuster, Transformers, Mazinger Z and luxury TMNT 👏🏻🇦🇷

I think I had the bowling game when I was a kid - my dad was a professional bowler so we would have some of that stuff around. One thing that I haven't tracked down that I want is the Tyco RC Bandit - you see the mini bandits all the time, but the full size one is hard to come by and a lot of the Tyco RC cars are expensive. I just want it for my shelf so I don't really want to pay $200+ when I could just use that towards a modern RC car.

I wanted that Pocket Power Turbo Prop so bad, but my Dad wouldn't buy it for me. It sucked being a kid with no money of my own! We also had yoyos as stocking stuffers one Xmas my brothers had ones shaped like a hand grenade and a basball, and mine was a coiled red snake.

I completely forgot about Pocket Power toys. I had the race car and probably a couple others. They made for great road trip toys. I use some of those pocket games for my other job...they're a fun way to keep my kiddos occupied during downtime. Other fun non-action figure toys for me were Flipsiders (games disguised in cassette tapes), Colorforms, Pocket Rockers, and of course...POGs....because 90s. I had a bunch of the Slammer Whammers brand milk cap game and several SkyCaps featuring moments from the Death and Return of Superman and Knightfall. Good nostalgic stuff Dan, thanks!

Here in Sweden *Kalmar Trissan* was the _go to brand_ when speaking of Yo-Yo:s.
I think it was in the early 90's that the Coca Cola branded Yo-Yo:s made their way into the market, and every school yard in the country.
Even if the Fanta, and maybe Sprite one, was the coolest looking ones with their semi transparent plastic in orange and green, the obvious choice was the red and white Coca Cola.
I still remember how I had to nag, and nag on me dad to buy one at the gorocery store.
Probably for allot more than it was worth 😄

I had some of each of these- I think I remember seeing commercials for the Duncan yoyos a lot at the time. For the pocket games, I had a kind of knockoff version of Battleship that used rubbery pieces like Colorforms instead of magnetic pieces, I guess it was a dollar store type thing because I can't find anything like it online. Also, when you mentioned smaller board games, I thought of Flipsiders, I loved those and I think I still have all of my old ones.

Didn't come out until about the early 90s. 1990 to be exact, you're showing toys from the 19. What nineteen hundreds nineteen twenties is many many years difference
