This song makes me reflect fondly back to the time in early game where I only had Rex, Nia and Tora in the party before everything kicked off in Uraya after THAT fight. I did everything in the game possible so I was nearing 40 hours before even reaching Mor Ardain so I got to know that party really well really quickly and this theme makes me think of them, but mostly about how much I like Tora. I remember initially disliking Tora for reasons which are obvious but I am genuinely surprised that this amazing game made me see how wrong it was to make that judgement based off first interactions. It's not even that I grew to like him. That would imply that his characters has annoying traits that I learnt to tolerate. After exploring and backtracking all over Gormott I began to understand Tora better through his quest lines, dialogue and such and realised how badly I had judged him without even giving him the chance. But the game showed me through its mechanics and overworld. Take the fact that Tora can't resonate with core crystals. If you're like me, then you often amassed maximum number of core crystals and thus, collected a fair few number of rare blades in early game and so you begin to switch between Rex and Nia a lot more, using their different blades and hearing their unique dialogue and completing their blade quests. All while this is happening Tora is taking the back seat because he's stuck with Poppy Alpha. Naturally, he's left out and more often than not, never really used as the first driver which you control. He doesn't get new dialogue with any other blades or any new quests but he does have dialogue with Rex and Nia's blades post battle and in quests. This plays so well into the narrative because Tora and Poppy later tell Rex how even though they struggle with not being true driver and blade like Rex and Pyra, that's their motivation to be as strong as possible and keep pushing to do better. Rex and Nia's bonds with their blades are something that Tora has to watch develop continuously as the player rolls new blades over and over again. And even though eventually Tora does technically get 'new' blades, he becomes the tank of the party, taking on the burden of knowing he can't be a true driver, and the literal burden of bearing the brunt of the damage when the player engages in battle. His character has so much depth to it and despite that it never truly takes the spotlight I really came to love Tora, valued him so much as a member of my party, and appreciate how well they were able to develop the character even with most of it not being the focal point.
I was always thinking why this theme gives me a kind of romantic vibe... when i replayed the game recently, i noticed that when you visit this area for the first time, Rex and Pyra are alone in the forest. That's where it clicked for me. The atmosphere this game has, especially in the beginning until shit hits the fan at the end of chapter 3, are unmatched; Probably my favorit earlygame part of all time.
I've not played the game, but this song is so beautiful that the fact that it's underrated is either a crime or an indication that other bgms would be that much more beatiful
I finally found it! I play nintendo mixes in my classroom throughout the day so my students and I can relax/concentrate better and when I heard this song, I just had to search the title! Such a peaceful song and serene. Makes me nostalgic for some reason.
Yeah it feels like forest of the nopon but actually isn't exactly similar , totally different, there's a part with some similar notes (1:22) but the rest it gives a cool false memory
So true! I've never played this game before, but when I heard this song in another youtube video I thought it sounded familiar, so I clicked on the link to the song in the description and it brought me here to my surprise.
That heart 2 heart that was back at the start of the whole thing in gormott was actually perfect for saying like. Yep this is were are adventure started. And look where we are now
This gonna be the song breaks me a few years from now and i just break down crying remembering how amazing this game was. Already feels so nostalgic...
i 'stalge hard for this part because it was when I first really knew this game was going to be wonderful. a bustling marketplace carried by a giant whale balloon and an ancient ship are both nice and all, but THIS place.. you've gotta have lands like this in your fantasy game.

It was December of 2017, I remember staying up late watching Etika play this on a stream, it was during a time where I was a freshmen in High School when it was still hard for me to obtain things that I wanted due to me not being about to obtain money eaisly at all, but when I heard this track for the first time on stream, I did everything I could to work towards things, and eventually got the game and a Switch for myself, also RIP Etika
Just begin playing this game, now in Chapter 3. This is my favorite song so far! Really want to go back to the point where only Pyra and Rex were wandering in that area...
This is so beautiful! I had never heard any music from this series before today! Incredible! Me: "wait a minute... sounds almost like Yasunori Mitsuda!" *checks* "Well I'll be!!" Maybe this track is Manami Kiyota, though? :0
This track and Torigoth night make me the most nostalgic for the game. This one because of how it plays right at the beginning of your journey, and the latter, of course, due to the great deal of time I spent hearing it as I was in town playing that arcade game for Poppi's equipment
this general... melody? can also be heard in The Abandoned City, as well as Spirit Crucible Elpys. it kinda makes sense you hear it there since those places have significance to Pyra/Mythra, but the reason they're significant is because of past events relating to Addam. in Gormotti Forest, it's where Rex starts his journey with Pyra/Mythra, so that might be why the melody is playing here. bUt ThAt'S jUsT a ThEoRy, A gAmE tHeOrY
I've only really just started this game too. Up to the beginning of chapter 3, and have done every side quest I could do on Gormott currently and well, this theme is my most favourite at the moment. Every time I hear it, I can't stop trying to whistle my most favourite part. My characters also are levels 19 and 21, and when you get the core crystals, I did after 20 common core crystals, finally get a Beast Blade. The randomiser is what I'm still figuring out. Is it literally endless possibilities for names of Blades, their elements and their skills? Also. By pure luck, I got a rare blade called Godfrey, with a common core crystal too. I also question this. Why are the enemies so hard to defeat, even when you are the same level. I've died like 10 times so far, and that particular unique monster Territorial Rotbart on the Plains of Gormott, I really hate. I mean. I get ambushed by Red Volff's because I'm exploring and stuff, and Territorial Rotbart literally passes by every time I try to fight them. Because it always took so long to defeat the three Volff's, Territorial Rotbart always one -shot me.
Just wanted to stop by 3 months later and say fuck you for spoiling it. You published this comment literally less than a month after the game came out. Gfy
I found it quite memorable since it's the first area you get to explore with Pyra. That, and the incredible music makes it fairly difficult NOT to remember it.
This is one of the most memorable places to me IMO. You're winding down from an intense climax of the previous chapter, where a bunch of things happened. You're getting to know your first teammates in a new adventure after surviving it. A renewed sense of peace and hope (and underboobs) washes over you. Nothing is really threatening here. The song is just the exquisite cherry on top to tie it all together :) I'd replay the game just to wander around here and observe all the foliage.
I remember so vividly after the intense ending to the first chapter, I legitimately stood around for what was probably 30 minutes just admiring the scenery and letting the music loop. It gave me such a strong hit of nostalgia to hear this tune as a new adventure truly began, and getting to see for the first time how the very first party members played off each other as they ventured the gorgeous landscape. It’s one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had with any video game in a long time, can’t describe it with any better word than magical.
How convenient that the cloud sea level never rose while Rex was unconscious or when the group camped out for the night :P
But the sea level never rises on its own.
You have to go to the inn and ask for a DEEP sleep.
I think they would've been too high even with Gormott at it's lowest point
@@ShockInazuma The bottom area of gormott (the place where you first arrive into it) is not accessible when the cloud tide is high.
