Honestly
I honestly don't even blame Jensen for that one. He's put his all into some pretty gay scenes, but there's only so much you can do when the script tells you not to respond because the character "can't feel the same way" and barely gives you any lines or actions.
Let's be honest, Misha isn't an excellent actor but he isn't a terrible one. Neither is Jensen. They've done some decent work on this show. There's some scenes where they really gave it their all and you are actually able to feel something...
But this? This was horrendous. The directing, the sound, the framing, everything is a complete disaster. "We'll stop beating this dead horse until it stops spitting out money", I think that phrase it's perfectly applicable here

Ya know what is funny though. I already experienced this my senior year of high school when Rick Riordan revealed that Nico had a huge crush on Percy. A ship which I had been shipping for years at the time.
And while Percy did not canonically reciprocate those feelings, that was as close to my ship becoming canon as it could get. I was SHOOK.
Ironically and opposite of the Supernatural finale. The reveal of Percico came after Nico was *rescued* from hell (well... Tartarus). Nico and Castiel both held affections for the main male lead, but one was rescued from hell while the other was sent to it.

Recently, a homophobic Hungarian politician, that lead Fidesz, a right-wing extremist party and who basically banned LGBT in Hungary was caught having a gay orgy in a Brussels gay club along with other right-wing politicians.

In russian "natural" (literal pronunciation of this word) means "straight" so the whole "supernatural" thing is sometimes mocked as "superstraight" which is twice as hilarious. Also as a Russian who has never been on tumblr and never cared about this series, this whole video got me through a rollercoaster...
I have to say, this video, while of course being hilarious, is completely wrong in it's interpretation of the scene and also leads people to believe in stuff that didn't actually happened. It missed a lot of important point. As a fan (and also russian) I could try to explain what ACTUALLY happened in this scene, if you interested. The author of the video doesn't really know what she is taking about, because she never knew enough facts about the show and as she admitted she didn't even wanted to understand. She gets the memes but failes to understand the context

Even without the Destiel bait that went absolutely nowhere (which, even as someone who's never even touched Supernatural, that feels like such a cheap shot), that is such a shitty way to end things. I hope for their sake, none of the writers or directors are on Tumblr, cause they'd get mauled by the fanbase after the shit they pulled off the week before.
The more I see of this the more convinced I am that they were afraid to make clarifications to the audience. Castiel has romantic feelings for Dean, that Dean cannot reciprocate. So Cas dying "solves" the problem of having to decide exactly how Dean feels about the confession, and his own sexuality, even though from a writing standpoint it's made too monumental not to be resolved in _some_ way.
Leave it to Supernatural to blow up the narrative pointlessly walking on eggshells for their audience by pretending subtlety and ambiguity were ever within the show's wheelhouse.

I’ve seen people contrast the Destiel confession with the Catradroa confession, but now that I’ve finally actually seen the scene, I can say that the Supernatural “I love you” and the She-ra “I love you” has the exact opposite energy. It’s insane.

Last minute romance always sucks- the Star vs. finale was really really bad. I mainly don’t consume much western media intended for adults (or much Media at all, really) so the only “surprise! Gay!” endings I encountered couldn’t explicitly say it, and honestly weren’t that surprising, having build up and stuff. (Unlike Starco...) Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated (which isn’t in continuity with the primary Scooby Doo timeline, even the fucking names of the home towns are different, even with the reveal that SDMI Velma is a lesbian (looking back, you can see them going for “they were both uncomfortable” in some episodes, vs Velma being the sole toxic element in others, probably due to lack of communications among the writers) so Coolsville!Velma is still straight, chill guys, you’re the fake fans, they’re different characters and not supposed to be representative of the original ones, this is like getting pissed about the differences between Earth-1 and Earth-2, or something, they’re entirely different people) ends with Velma leaving Marcie to run away to fucking Arkham MA at the behest of Harlan Ellison, and I can remember precious little about the ending of the Legend of Korra, and so, aside from memories of a build up, can say nothing as to its quality in that regards.

I just want to add some very important details because Tumblr isn't always the best information source:
1. The banging sound is the character of Death knocking on the door to this room that they put a spell on to make sure she couldn't get in. That's also a part in why Dean barely says anything, and that's why Castiel decided to do this now, because they knew that they had to defeat her but she is wayyyyy powerful and the only way to get her was by summoning "the empty" which is the place that everyone has decided to rename to "Superhell". Every demon and angel goes there when they die.
2. Castiel made a deal with the empty in season 13 that said that when he is truly happy, the empty will grab him forever. This was not the way I thought they were gonna do it, I really thought it was gonna be more focused on his powers, because he was almost human when he died, but I guess this is fine.
3. It's really only canon because the actor who plays Castiel (Misha Collins) said that it was a "Homosexual love confession". He has said "I love you" to Dean like twice before. I only understood that it was halfway canon when I read it on Tumblr, not when I saw the scene. I got some gay vibes, but they have had WAY stronger chemistry than that. Also the show is over now and Dean never said that he loved Cas back so there's that.
4. I admit, the last two episodes where kinda whack and homophobic, but I think that way to many people just make these giant accusations because they saw something about it on tumblr/twitter.
I work at a LUSH and someone saw my SPN tattoo and the conversation ended up with us talking about the amazing tumblr high we all received because of destiel being "canon" lmao
Okay someone got a hold of a monkey's paw and wished for destiel didn't they? This ending was so absurd, you could feel how reluctant the writer's were with making the scene. Misha was the only one trying his best! And he got blasted to super hell for it lmao.

On a more serious note, they had to film separately because they’ve been working together most of their careers & happily playing into the shipp. They’ve actually tried a scene like that before & the guy who wrote it & the director broke down laughing... there’s no way Misha could put that emotion into it if he was looking at Jensen’s face. Clearly Jensen just wasn’t allowed to follow his own direction for the character. There WILL BE the best blooper reel of all time on the final season DVD (expecting it for my birthday)
