Grab a hair dryer for that vinyl. Also the number plate light looks pretty similar to a BHA4153 that was used on a lot of BMC stuff. They were available not too long ago but about $50ea from memory.
You need some riv-nuts or nutserts or whatever they’re named in your vicinity. Drill a hole, push the insert in, tighten the bolt up to hold it captive, boom, you have a new captive nut.
@@stevestufff they come in bloody handy! I have a pilot car and the number of times I’ve used them to add an extra gauge, or a CB, or whatever the hell I need to add to it. They’re brilliant.
The restos coming along nicely, looking forward to seeing it all painted! Just a thought but to stop the numbers in the rear destination box falling when the glue fails, could you put a small screw or rivet through the corners of each number hold it to either the metal plate or the box itself? Great video as always Steve!
Could you just mask up and spraypaint a piece of black plate with yellow for your desto, or even get some yellow number that are used on racing motorcycles?
I liked the tweaked intro but wish the theme tune went for as long as before. It sets the tone for me as I've become accustomed to hearing it before every video so far. Do you rub it down before painting the panels? Amazing what a coat of paint achieves. Lovely drone building air.
thanks James, I shortened the intro because I thought it was too long, but will use the longer one next time. Yes I sand the panels down to roughen up the area before I paint.
The bus is coming along nicely Steve, glad you’ve got the leak mostly sorted. Might need to dull that reverse light down now 😂 it’s the brightest light on the whole bus now, jokes aside it’s going well, pity you can only work on it on weekends. Can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s done. Will you keep this bus or will you get another one and do it all over again ?
Surprising how agreeable it is to watch paint drying!
Well done and Thank-you!

It looks so different compared to a UK atlantean.
yes it is certainly an interesting body, especially the windscreen treatment.
Steve, could have put the rubber in hot water to make it supple, would have been easier to fit, awesome job.
yes I havent come back to that job yet. I am going to try some heat on the rubber when I get back there. It does look rough at the moment
Hey Steve, what were you using to hold the camera in the introduction?
Hi mate. A selfie stick.
Thank you.

Thanks mate. I will keep this and the Merlin, and eventually take them back to Taree for the town to enjoy.
@@stevestufff yeah ok that will be good, we used to catch these type of buses to go to school when I was a kid in the 80s 😂
@@stevestufff what a fantastic plan!
She’s coming along nicely. OLD BAR this time. I’m now interested in what else is on those blinds!
