  • Here I am tackling the album ranking of the full-length studio catalogue, from extreme Metal royalty, the mighty Carcass! From being an integral figure in the early Grindcore scene, to a Heavyweight grotesque Death Metal onslaught, to being pioneers of Melodic Death Metal and Death n' Roll, Carcass are one of the most influential bands in the business.
So what are your thoughts on this album ranking and how would you rank this stellar discography? Let me hear you! Check it out!

Heartwork is their masterpiece (in my opinion). I agree with your bottom two in the sense that I don’t enjoy their extremes of non commercial and most commercial as much. Their sweet spot is in the middle.
Nevertheless the entire discography is quality.
    My ranking:
    1. Heartwork
    2. Necroticism
    3. Symphonies of Sickness
    4. Surgical Steel
    5. Torn Arteries
    6. Swansong
    7. Reek of Putrefaction

Thank you for sharing your ranking and opinions on this one my friend, it is certainly an interesting discography to rank in the sense that there are definite favourites and some clear last place contenders..... but as you say, the whole discography is quality, even the least favourites are great it their own right 🤘
      Thank you for watching!

it's really a masterpiece !!! I can openly say that it's the cornerstone of melodic death metal, I've been listening to it for 30 years (I'm 42) and I never get tired of it, the album is ahead of its time, especially in terms of melodic solos and the guitar tone, even today would be a great album to come out like this, not to mention in its time

Necro is my “Go To” Carcass album. It’s the one where I discovered them. I think the ones after lack the brutality of Bill Steer’s vocals.

Carcass are amazing, good to hear another fans opinions. Outside of Reek I find it hard to rank the others consistently, as they are all great in different ways. Like you Symohonies was my first and I also didn't know what to make of it (I was a thrash kid at the time), but it is super special once you get your hwad around it and I still listen to it very regularly. I rank Swansong higher than most as I love the style and heaviness. I saw them a couple of months ago, they still have it and I stayed outside for an hour to get a couple of albums signed. I could talk about this band for ages... I am new to your channel so catching up on some earlier videos.

Greetings my friend and welcome to the channel! 🤘
Carcass are absolute legends, I love this band, they are so unique and tackling this ranking was a huge challenge! As you say, all of the albums are great it their own special way. I'm glad that I am not the only one who was totally shocked by Symphonies... upon first experience! haha! I have grown to love it for sure, but that is a HEAVY album! Swansong is brilliant too, definitely a curve-ball but it has a lot of charm. Carcass certainly can deliver live, and that is awesome that you were album to get yours albums signed!
Thanks again for the support 🤘

Thank you for sharing my friend, it sounds as though Swansong is a very important album to you! I love it too, it is far from my favourite Carcass album of course, but it is a fine album nonetheless 🤘I vaguely remember hearing that there was a mention of Carcass on Friends, but couldn't bring myself to suffer through watching it to find out.... haha! What is entertaining is Jeff and Bill's cameo appearance as "Smeg and The Heads" on the brilliant sitcom, Red Dwarf. Check it out if you fancy a giggle! 🤘

Also got into Carcass through Surgical Steel. Coincidently, the albums that I've never heard are your bottom 3 on the list hahahahahaha

Surgical Steel, what a magnificent album! That is interesting, I would still definitely recommend checking out the other Carcass albums that you haven't heard, they are all unique and brilliant in their own way 🤘
