    I can’t understand anyone saying Anthrax not being in the Big Four. The keyword is ‘big’. Anthrax were huge in the Eighties. I can understand metal aficionados saying they prefer Exodus, Testament, Overkill or Death Angel. But the fact is only the band members mums could probably pick any of the band members out in a line up. Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, were/are borderline household names.

    This album came out after an avalanche of hate cast upon the band.The latter release had received countless negative reviews.I must point out that the Killing For Revenge has being likely a shut-mouth for all those who had thought that Six Feet Under was died down in industry,afterwards the Nightmares Of The Decomposed. Here is a fiercely proof with the new record dropped out.

    i looooooove At the heart of winter, like you it was also the first Immortal i heard. Ive been retrospectively listening and internally reviewing these lately and, as I appreciate the time it come out and its sound, I feel Battles in the North was just all blasting and wall of noisey stuff, and when cleans kicked in it was like its own thing. As opposed to ATHOW which blends it all seemlessly. I like Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark) from BITN but overall i feel BITN albiet a solid black metal release, still only gave it 6/10 Frowning Abbath Faces. I actually much prefer Blizzard Beasts for that more black metally black metal Immortal. Although the cover is laughably bad..... Blizzard Beasts is another savage album definitely. In the dvd they weren't signed to label and no one wanted them. Trying to convince them to go softer but they said fuck that if we are going out we are going out on our own terms heavy asf. so this album literally saved their career. Definitely cool to see them at rock bottom then to this resurgence.@@nononsensemetalreviews

      To be honest, I do like Firepower a lot, but I love the power and stunning, epic nature of Nostradamus, it is a masterpiece! 🤘

    Guys Burning Red and Supercharger were fantastic too. Don’t know why it’s a comeback.

      Fair point! haha! I do like Supercharger quite a lot actually, but I definitely prefer TTAOE. I have tried to get into Burning Red... there are some solid tracks on there, but overall I do still struggle with that one. I want to like it more than I do, but I find that one a tough album to get into.....

      Machine Head nearly lost their North American record deal with Roadrunner after Supercharger flopped. It's regarded by most MH fans as their worst album, prior to Catharsis. Through The Ashes had a way more positive reaction and helped Machine Head gain a new generation of fans. I'd say the album is a "comeback."

      @butchvito oh wow, I had no idea that Supercharger was so ill received! I think it is a pretty good album, not the best but better than Catharsis definitely!

    Empires is a great comeback to form by Machine Head that’s for sure. Imperium is a fantastic song, it could be their best song ever.

    No, Nu-Metal has never been my metal cup of tea. The new Kvaen album though...

      Me neither for the large part, although I have a weakness for Disturbed and some of the more Nu Metal tinged albums from Soulfly, Machine Head and Slipknot. Not familiar with Kvaen, I'd best do some research! 🤘

    When the album came out I was bang into MH and there are some great tracks on there, especially towards the end of the album that would never have been played live many times, if at all

      There are definitely some very solid tracks here. I'm hoping nostalgia takes over and Robb decides to play the album live in full for a significant anniversary or something, that would be awesome! 🤘

    Bondage goat zombie shreds! I remember when it came out I kind of rolled my eyes but it’s really grown on me. One of Belfs best for sure. The early albums are great too, real raw. Keep up the great work!

      It sure does! It is a solid album that has a good balance between the Black and Death leanings. The first 3 albums in particular are in heavy rotation for me at the moment, they are monstrous albums! Thank you my friend, very much appreciated! 🤘

    I think it's great album, I love it. However, it is let down by the awful production. Drums sound thin, glassy and clippy. Aside from the production, it's a solid album.

    • @nononsensemetalreviews
      @nononsensemetalreviews 26 дней назад

      The production could definitely be better, but to be honest I don't think it is awful as such, just a touch lacking....... certainly not as well produced as the predecessors! 🤘
