This year I was moving more into slower tempo, doomy, atmospheric even gothic sound so that's pretty different than where you are right now. Here's my Top 5 1. Tribulation - Sub Rosa In Æternum 2. The Funeral Procession - In Still Silence 3. Vemod - The Deepening 4. Borkgnagar - Fall 5. Djevel - Natt Til Ende
@Count_Deangeli that sounds like a very interesting direction to be moving in, quite different to myself as you say! I haven't listened to any of your top 5 albums, but I have heard great things about the new Borknagar and Tribulation albums. I will try to check them out shortly 🤘
Hey bud. Just checked your content out for the first time. Loved this video! You have such great insight, it’s great listening to you describe these albums
@fiend1983 welcome to the channel! Thank you for your kind words and for the support, I am most grateful 🤘 I'm very pleased that you enjoyed the review!
@fiend1983 I hope you enjoy more of my reviews, there are a fair few to choose from..... haha! There will also be another new review coming very soon! 🤘
Well done on expressing your favorite albums of the year. Awesome list and will be looking forward to some albums I have not got to yet! My favorites of 2024 list is on my channel if you want to Check. Cheers and happy new year!
@C.good2damax thank you for watching and for the support! I hope you enjoy checking out the albums that you haven't got to yet, these are all excellent albums and well worth a listen! A very happy holidays and New Year to you too! 🤘
Enjoyable list. Some great stuff I hadn't picked up. Not sure about the new Saxon tho'. Been listening to them since 1980, and it just felt average. Ditto Rotting Christ, felt this was their weakest, most repetitive record yet. Hadn't listened to Rage since Perfect Man - great recommendation to reawaken my interest in them. 200 Stab Wounds and the most recent Fleshgod are truly awesome. (And greetings from just down the road!)
Haven´t heard all of the albums. But will surely check them out. Thanks for the list. You should definitely check out the band: Yoth Iria and their new album "Blazing Inferno" since you like the Rotting Christ. But Yoth Iria´s new album is so much better. If you haven´t heard them it´s also former Rotting Christ members. One of my faves of the year.
@petercrushingc you are most welcome, thank you for watching and for the support! I have recently been delving into Yoth Iria, and I love what I have heard so far! Incredible stuff, I wish I had discovered them sooner! 🤘
My list 10 Ihsahn - Ihsahn 9 Black Curse - Burning in Celestial Poison 8 Nile - The Underworld Awaits Us All 7 Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere 6 Akhlys - House of the Black Geminus 5 Spectral Wound - Songs of Blood and Mire 4 Mitochondrion - Vitriseptome 3 Schammasch - The Maldoror Chants: Old Ocean 2 Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God 1 Ingurgitating Oblivion - The Ontology of Nought
Best list I’ve seen so far, and very similar to mine! Ingurgitating Oblivion is also my number one this year, along with other choice picks of Ihsahn, Akhlys and Ulcerate! Very well done! 🙏🏻
@@hvitekristesdodI don’t really have a particular order myself. All I know for sure is that Ingurgitating Oblivion is my top pick this year and some others that I haven’t mentioned yet are Pyrrhon Exhaust, NAILS Every Bridge Burning, Paysage d’Hiver Die Berge, An Axis of Perdition Apertures and The Cure Songs of a Lost World.
Because of your nr 1, ill give u my top 11 of the year :) 1. Dödsrit 2. Blood incantation 3. Dark tranquillity 4. Darkthrone 5. Winterfylleth 6. Tribulation 7. Alcest 8. Solstafir 9. Inherits the void 10. Vananidr 11. Rotting christ 👍
@fredrikgustafsson5706 some great choices there for sure, thank you for sharing 🤘 I really need to check out the new Blood Incantation album, it seems to be high up on most lists of the top albums of 2024! Winterfylleth is also one I need to pick up a copy of as soon as possible, they are such a phenomenal band! Thanks for watching and for the recommendations 🤘
Love some Greek black metal, never checked out Suicidal Angels as I don't delve into thrash to often. I've bought more than I've listened to this year and neglected spinning a lot of 2024 releases, Skeletal Remains, Marduk, Inquisition, Necrophobic, Spectral Wound, Tsjuder, Kvaen to name just a few. The price stops me buying a lot of stuff on release. I'll have to check out the new Infernal Sea. Haven't bought any 2024 heavy metal releases but I know Judas Priest has had a lot of praise for their album. You got some great black Friday deals. I'm thinking I'm going to see a lot of lists where I haven't listened to many of the choices as I haven't listened to any of these. I'm going to have to get the new Saxon just for some Brian Blessed! I will pick up Rotting Christ at some point especially as it's been touted as their best since Theogonia. Definitely a stacked year of metal 🍻🤘🏻
I'd definitely recommend checking out Suicidal Angels, they do Thrash and they do it well! I have had a similar issue this year, the cost of physicals is just ridiculous these days, it is difficult to justify and makes supporting bands a challenge. There are a lot of releases that seem to be scoring high positions in a lot of "top album" lists that I wont purchase based on price. Definitely pick up the new Saxon and Rotting Christ albums at least, they are incredible! It has been such a stacked year for Metal, here's hoping 2025 is just as heavy! 🤘
Best year of the decade. Mine are: Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere Alcest - Les Chants De L’Aurore Opeth - The Last Will and Testament Iotunn - Kinship Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God Panzerfaust - The Suns of Perdition - Chapter IV: To Shadow Zion Winterfylleth - The Imperious Horizon Cistvaen - At Light’s Demise Yoth Iria - Blazing Inferno Thy Catafalque - XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek
@Hellenicheavymetal It certainly has been a great year for Metal 🤘 Thanks for sharing your top picks, there are a few there I've not come across so will need to check out for sure 🤘
Sepectral Wound - Songs of blood and mire Ad Mortem - In honorem mortis Wolves Of Perdition - ultraviolence Wormwitch - wormwitch Vimur - the timeless everpresent Paganizer - flesh requiem
@evilcrow nice list, thanks for sharing! I am in the process of delving into Wormwitch after seeing them supporting Winterfylleth recently, they are a brilliant band! 🤘
My top 5 for 2024, has these bands : 1) AARA with Eiger. The BEST BM album of 2024 hands down💯💯 2) Oranssi Pazuzu 3) Firtan 4) Darko US 5) Fleshgod apocalypse 😊 I ve seen a LOT of people liking Akhly s new album. Good one BUT for me it wasn't a good album. It offered NOTHING,unlike the previous amazing album. It was a weird mix of blackened trip hop with some ambient. It didn't have any raw aggression at all. It s an OK album, but it s not metal. It s just a glorified OST😊
@@MrLando0 indeed, I'm so annoyed at that mix up! I even double checked their location recently.... either way, Spectral Wound are an incredible band and the new album is superb🤘
