    Doc Parsley's Sleep Remedy: www.docparsley.com/jocko
After serving with the SEALs, Doc entered medical school at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda. Doc graduated in 2004, 1 year after the birth of his third child. He interned in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Balboa Naval Hospital San Diego in 2005 and subsequently completed a Navy residency in Hyperbarics and Diving Medicine in 2006.
From 2009 to 2013, Doc served as an Undersea Medical Officer at Naval Special Warfare Group One. While there, he led the development of and supervised the group’s first Sports Medicine Rehabilitation center. Doc saw firsthand the effect that low sleep and high stress had on the young SEALs who were under his care, men who he realized looked a whole lot like himself just a few years before. It was during this time that he began to develop the all-natural Sleep Remedy that is now the supplement of choice for Navy SEALs, pro athletes, C-level executives, and thousands of others. Henry, now Sleep Remedy's CFO, was one of the first to experience the life altering impact of Sleep Remedy.

have an alternative hypothesis for Dr. Parseley . its also has to do with performance /metabolic response to Diet and aging . long story short I was really fit around 2014-2017 getting into trouble 2019 although I was not taking pharmaceutical drugs I was drinking and taking recreational drugs . well in 2019 I got into more trouble and spent the great majority of the following 4 years in prison sleeping often /not working out /unless forced to living off two sandwitches /one hot meal(pasta and spam) although I was going through an arduous mental gauntlet with court and politics I was able to maintain a positive spirit/ attitude and just focused my time on preserving my "energy " and whatever muscle mass I still had. by this time 2021 I was down to 6 pull ups and 10 dips . by 2022 I was down to 5 dips and 0 pull ups . fluctuating between 180-210lbs . A major concern of mine was recovery and rehabilitation after too much time in atrophy. I managed to maintain a decent calisthenic workout routine during my last year . Well upon release I weighed 190lbs and started logging my weight . my main staple for protein was chicken and I quickly jumped right back to 210 and even reached 215lbs . Im Mexican American and sports medicine and performance research has always been my main pass time. I was training on the SFAS program ,power lifting and read cognitive enhancement and performance journals" MTAAC" ,books and whatever I could find. As a fit Mexican-American I have always been aware of the threat of obesity in my community especially after the age of 30 . Well this happened to my surprise I stated reading pre-colonial history and Spanish conquest in prison and remembered that the Spanish brought horses and other live stock and herbs, after some digging I was able to trace the first trade routes and "discoveries" and trade goods the Spanish encountered when circumnavigating the earth for the first time inn the 15000 . Fruits and veggies weren't consumed on ships until it was discovered that you could stayve off scurvy and drop the death rates ,becoming a main staple of North American diets !!!!!! anyhow that's my theory that Diets (not customary from a genetic adaptation standpoint) has a more expressive effect on the body after the age of 30 . Im currently on a restrictive Diet of only Native Plants and Fauna anyway ill like Dr, Parsleys take on this theory . I want to test it but money is scarce / Im still fresh out so im doing what I can for now. Maybe Dr, Parsley can get the navy to study and test this? Thanks !!!!!

Yeah I learned this as well. That when you lay in bed and you can't sleep don't say to yourself "Omg I can't sleep etc.." Just say to yourself "great now I have time to just lay down with closed eyes and relax, meditate by focusing on my slow and deep breathing." Just this alone will lower your stress hormones and eventually you will fall a sleep. 😴 It works like magic. Before that I would just stress out like crazy omg in next 7 hours I have to wake up. Omg in next 6 hours, Omg in next 5 hours. Cortisol and adrenaline goes up and up and up that is the recipe to stay awake like it's 2pm... Horrible.. 😁

That really stinks. Best thing to do to get after some sleep is to exercise. The other thing is lower room temp and wear warm clothes. This makes the temp of your head cooler which facilitates falling asleep. Warm showers before bed helps too, as does watching TV, listening to podcasts, and reading books. I'm not sure why media helps, but I think it might be because when the brain processes information and the eyes are focusing it helps to focus your thoughts on amiable things (and maybe it might tire your brain from all the processing). Doesn't really matter why it works if it works though. 🤷‍♂️

I had that dizziness happen to me after waking up upside down in a totalled car after a huge crash. I was wobbling all over the place for weeks. I stumbled onto this strange exercise on the "interwebs" where you rearrange the marbles in your ear canal. Something like forehead on the ground and roll your head forward and hold till you almost pass out then turn a certain way. Really weird but it worked! Couldn't believe it.
P.s . Thanks Jocko and Echo . Love listening to you guys. Really interesting and thought provoking discussions with guests and amongst yourselves. I find myself laughing out loud when you guys start digging at each other. Like Echo chilling out and having way too many "rest days" and Jocko always saying "back in the day". Hehe, I'm only a few minutes in, but I feel you on the hospital discomfort. Very comfortable beds, but it's never a place of particular comfort. I added “particular,” since it is, still, awful how quick one can get used to the circumstances (especially if you stop caring about the outcome). A few months and it feels weird to go home, too, in some awkward way.
I learned that roll as well, hehe, mostly not to rip a bunch of stitches, to avoid further pain and mess. I had a problem with that. I need a physical therapist to *teach me* how to *get out of bed*? To *stand up and go take a piss*? “Don't think so, I'm good.” Admittedly, I was wrong and it was useful advice…
Then a couple of weeks later, they say, “you can take a walk if you'd like, but go slow and don't leave.” “Yeah, yeah, I've got this, thanks,” I said and began my walk to the grocery store a mile away. Two hours later on my way back, stupidly enough uphill, stopping to rest (aka sit down and attempt to breathe) every 25 yards, I had plenty of time to think that decision over. Would I do it again? Probably, actually. If the alternative is to let someone else tell me what I'm physically capable of.
That's likely where my discomfort comes from in that environment (besides the cardio department being top floor, warm as hell, packed, with windows that won't open and mobile ECG that loses connection if you go anywhere). Someone points at you and says, “you suffer from X which means you can't do Y and shouldn't do Z because that's our baseline for normal people with this condition.” Baseline… Normal…? “The **** you just call me, doc? Speak for yourself.” 😛 There's just no control, at least not seemingly.
(That being said, liters of nasty, bloody liquid in your lungs and high fever, obviously impose some limits on what one could and should do, physically. E.g., probably want to drain that and take a Tylenol before a jog.)
Sleep is interesting, looking forward to hearing the rest now!

According to Nietzsche, Superman is an individual who has surpassed both the Christian morals and values of humanity and transcends pure rationality. Superman is beyond good and evil in that he recognizes that morality only exists concerning human beings. He can create his values through his actions. #thereyougo this is what their worldview consists of.

This guy has some good information but be careful if you’re thinking about using an AI year around. Probably not the best idea.
