Yooo your mom stating that humble be the opposite of pride made me realize how pride is a song with a calm atmosphere qnd has Kendrick in a way that would nake you think of him as a humble person and then on Humble Kendrick practically goes the opposite direction and is high energy and talking big about himself basically being prideful
Humble can be taken 2 ways (depending on what order you listen to the album: back to front or front to back). Either he is telling himself to be humble (front to back), or he is telling others to be humble around him (back to front)
Love that you two decided to do this song. Hope that one day you’re able to do “U” by Kendrick, might even put it as one of the best songs in hip hop personally

I never comment but wow i really liked this reaction because we can see her passion by her eyes when she listen to this music. DAMN one of my favorites albums. I love the videos with just one song but im really curious if you two react to entire albums in order because some albums you can comprehend things by listening to the full album and not otherwise. Thanks for the video!
MOOOOOM .... YOUNG MAN. YOU'RE NOT WRONG. Kookout Kenny is absolutely doing all of this will full intentions. Lets just say from the track listing to what direction you choose this particular album has a different outcome and feel. I appreciate yall doing this. #perfect #world
I like how you mom picked up on the contrast, given how the next song HUMBLE. Is in direct contrast with PRIDE. not only with the titles but sonically as well. And how the songs contrast themselves with the titles not going really going hand in hand with the sound, PRIDE. having a sweet melody where as HUMBLE. The song Which you would think should have that kind of beat has a more up beat. I like how your mom was able to pick up on the idea of contrast running through out the album...she's very insightful. Enjoying these reactions very much , keep it up 👍🏾... For songs she would like sonically, maybe some songs off Mr Morale where Kendrick doesn't really do much with his voice or the samples, l think she would like Mother I sobber
Section .80 is his debut, but his major label debut is Good Kid, mAAd City. Essentially, section .80 is independent and GKMC is his mainstream debut (on Dr. Dre's label, the same label in which Eminem debuted in). @@MommaTaunT great video!! Can you and ur son react to the song and video “U” by Kendrick Lamar I think you guys will both love it and find it interesting
I love yalls break downs. I think you should do kendricks pimp a butterfly and damn front to back. All his albums are great. And even if you don't do a reaction give them a listen. My opinion he is the vest artist of this direction he seems to take on different personalities or perspectives from each album
The album DAMN is split in 2 halves Kendrick has said this multiple times the first part of the Kendrick album focuses on Kendrick’s positive side and humble side of his life the 2nd part of the album is the downfall of Kendrick’s personality Pride being the 7th song on the 14th album highlights this well as it exposes Kendrick’s Flaws and his inability to control his pride and his self said lack of empathy to people at times, and also highlights his wish for a perfect world which ultimately ends Kendrick realizing that a perfect world wouldn’t be a perfect world it would be a false paradise filled with lies. Also the lyrics “love will get you killed, but pride will be the death of you” basically means that Love can get you killed by people close to you, but pride will eat you from the inside until you destroy yourself that’s when you realize that you were filled with pride which is also one of the 7 deadly sins which coincides with Kendrick’s views on religion( Christianity)
I'm not very sure but my own theory on the pitch change is the high pitched voices represent the 7 sins. "A perfect world, you probably live another 24" is envy, "The better part, the human heart you love 'em or dissect 'em" perhaps represents lust and wrath?, "Hoping I make amend, I understand I ain't perfect" is what I believe to be sloth, because instead of making an effort to improve, you are still careless and instead hope to be better. Also, something I noticed which is really cool to me, is that in the lines "I can't fake humble just cause your ass is insecure", it changes from high pitch (representing the sin of pride by failing to be humble) to normal/low pitch, representing Kendrick himself, switching from a back and forth between Kendrick and Sin to just Kendrick alone. This shows that those are Kendricks sins.
I feel like your mom would like “u by Kendrick Lamar”, because it seems like some kind of open therapy session that he shared with the world to see/ hear.
It would be amazing if you make a whole album reaction. Most of Kendrick's albums have songs that are united under one theme. Especially Good kid m.a.a.d city and To Pimp A Butterfly
Hey guys. I truly believe that you guys should do a album review by Kendrick Lamar depending on which album. I think you should start with good kid Maad City. It's a really good album with a great concept, I truly believe you guys would enjoy the lesson. FYI, check out all of his singles called the heart. Those are his important timestamp singles Daddy come out with before his albums release. He did about five of them. I was waiting for the sixth one until Drake came out with a this name in it the heart 6. Please check out especially the heart 5, you will not be disappointed.
I hope you guys pick a song from Kendrick Lamar's album to pimp a butterfly called mortal man. Really good powerful song. You guys also might want to stick around for the last interlude for the album after the song ends. He's interviewing Tupac Shakur. Check it out.

If that interests you I recommend watching "A deep dive into Damn [...]" by Tennnis Thom.
