  • Is driving in Belize as scary as it sounds? Check out our tips on driving, navigating, parking, and getting gas. Yes, the roads are rough in some parts of the country but it's worth it to rent a car if you will be driving around often. We drove from Belize City to San Ignacio to Placencia. We drove mostly on the Western Highway and Hummingbird Highway as well.

    This really isn’t accurate. The entire highway at the time of this video was under construction and renovation, hence the detours and dirt roads. It’s all paved and properly marked now.

    How frequent did you see gas stations

      In the city areas like in San Ignacio, pretty often. Outside of that, not much.
