Ugh this looks cute. I too though think $30 is too high. Woulda grabbed it at $20. For now it’ll go on my wishlist until it goes on sale. Thanks, Pat! 🧡
Well I just got to have it and I kinda played day one of it and it seems pretty cute and kinda relaxing plus it’s all pastries my mom and I like like bread things and cakes or marshmallow things I made the marshmallow dessert and it looked super good to me however I don’t like how fast paced it seems all cooking based games seem stressful actually but lemon cake is actually cute to me and I like the ghost character plus I’m excited to unlock a couple of new desserts and upgrades and stuff like that but other than that it may seem chaotic but it’s still super cute at the same time so in short do I regret getting this via Nintendo switch e shop gift cards? No I absolutely do not I can generally see myself playing at least a good couple of hours a day so then animal crossing isn’t my only most played hours game and I can add in some hours played to lemon cake plus I have the game inbento and I see myself playing that too because I basically assemble a mother cats bento boxes for her kitty kids and it’s a pretty cute puzzle like game by assembling the bentos I don’t regret getting that either and many other games I don’t regret at all although I don’t really like cook serve delicious 2 it’s too stressful of a game for me to play but overcooked 2 doesn’t feel all too stressful I mean yeah it is sorta chaotic but other than that though I prefer it more than cook serve delicious 2 plus overcooked has some desserts too I think so that’s cool I can see more foods I can make than what I could make in animal crossing I mean it sucks that there isn’t more of a variety of foods and things to make if there was more options of foods and desserts and drinks to make that would be nice but at least I can get that from overcooked 2 and lemon cake
@@sonictonic_ yeah I know but for me I didn’t really care I just wanted to have it and maybe I’d even consider getting cooking mama cook star I don’t really know but I’m waiting til I get more money then I could be on the look out for that game in Walmart or somewhere with a Nintendo switch area
As an Animal Crossing retiree I'm in search for a new cozy game to depend on and I truly want Lemon Cake to be a part of my life as I also want to consider learning how to bake a few minor things like cupcakes in an attempt to be a little more involved in life to help deal with severe depression. The best cozy game to deal with mental struggles are the ones that have routines and I love this routine. Thanks for the review!
ik exactly how you feel. That's why I loved animal crossing so much! It was sometimes stressful trying to get items and money, but doing the tasks to get said money and nook miles really helped me set goals about what project I was going to pursue next like different builds and terraforming. I've always loved organized chaos type games like AC, Cult of The Lamb, heck even Minecraft and now Disney Dreamlight Valley (im waiting for it to officially come out so I can get it for free tho hehe) there's just always something to do and takes up my whole brain for hours
I was very excited about it because I've always loved those kind of management games and the game looks very cute, but the price is too high for what the game currently offers (and compared to similar games). Unfortunately I think it's going to make a lot of players who wishlisted it to think twice before buying.
Yep! I'm one of those! I've been waiting for it to be released on switch for probably 6mo to a year, but I definitely don't have $30 to drop at the moment.
I’ve been playing this and enjoying it! It’s busy but doesn’t feel like an impossible diner dash beat the clock game. I agree, $30 is a bit overpriced.
Cozy chaos sounds like a type of game I’d like playing. I’ll probably wait until it goes on sale to get it because 29.99 is a pretty steep price for this😅
Wow yah I didn’t think it’d be $30, that’s too much for me for this type of game for sure. I was excited for this, but I’m definitely going to wait for a sale.
The graphics caught my attention and I fell in love but that price is what's really holding me back. I'm definitely going to wishlist and wait for a sale thanks for the in depth review c:
This game is on my wishlist waiting for a sale. It seems like a $10-20 game at the most. Maybe 20 with many sales of 15 n under. It gives me Diner Dash vibes for sure and those are free. This and Bear and Breakfast are on the top of my wishlist waiting for a sale. In the meantime im still obsessed with other recent releases
Thanks for this review, it was so thorough and concise. Personally, sitting at 5 years of restaurant experience and currently working in a kitchen environment, I think I’ll pass. It’s just too reminiscent of what I do on the clock, but cutesy. I am trying to leave the industry as it fosters abuse and is generally soul-sucking. But seeing this gameplay reinforces to me that I actually like the work I do. I just don’t like working for abusive employers. I think once I’m able to successfully leave for a different industry, I might go back to playing games like this. It has a comforting feel which reminds me of my love for the Pappa’s games (specifically Freezeria!) that I haven’t played in years bc now I reach for games that will give me a change of pace from you know…… my actual job that takes most of my hours
I love the graphics and premise of this one, but can’t imagine getting enough hours in it to justify the price. Although it would be nice to have a faster paced game in rotation. I love Hokko Life but my biggest critique (other than the bugs 😩) is that’s it’s a touch slow.
Speaking of the HL bugs, I’m curious whether you ran into one where you can’t save any of the designs you make after downloading all those custom designs? That happened to me and I’m so sad. I just get an error message every time.
Thanks for the review! I do feel like the price is a bit too high. I like the premise and the art style is super adorable, but that's not enough to make me justify spending 30 bucks on this. I'd rather buy Dinkum (it's 20$)
Pat! I’m so happy you’ve been doing other stuff besides animal crossing! I watched the streams and stuff so heavily when you were streaming new horizons but now I haven’t picked up the game in over a year. It’s awesome to see some other stuff happening!
Thanks you the review! I’m gonna go ahead and add this to my wishlist and wait for a sale. The price is a bit steep for what it is. Good pizza, great pizza was for $6.99 and it’s similar, so I’ll be damned
Yes I did as just about to purchase it right now. But was browsing for reviews. How close of a feel is it to zoo tycoon, really? Because I need something to cure that itch! lol
That’s such a good tip to do the prep work before opening your store!! I didn’t even think of that when I played last night! I do agree it’s expensive, but I also think Hokko Life could have been priced higher, so I’m gonna say I broke even
this game definitely keeps you busy, it’s also super cozy-like especially if you’re like me who loves bakery or café games. they just feel so safe and you can sit and play them for hours. regardless, this review was really good! if you’re still contemplating whether or not you should get the game, i’ll basically say maybe wait till it’s on sale. the game is pricey for a simple game like this but it is definitely worth it for me. i really love how nice the game lemon cake is.
All of my jobs have been fast paced, high stress, customer service. Now that I'm settled into my dream job where I don't deal with people at all, I'm gonna pass on a game that gives me that anxiety back. Lol. It's cute. Just not for me.
Thanks for this review! It really reinforced the impression I already had that it seems to be a good game, but maybe a bit expensive. I'll wait for a sale!
It's cute! It's one of my comfort games however, $30 is too high. I also personally don't like how I basically have to hug the items to interact with them (body basically has to touch it)
it’s such a good game but I feel like it’s super stressful :( trying to walk to the garden and use the carts for the ingredients is pointless if you don’t know what you’re making first and also the walking/running mechanics aren’t very good (playing on PC) very good and cute game overall but not the best for time wise and hard to make money if you’re not a quick thinker!
Thanks for the review! I really want this game, and did watch a livestream of the first couple hours or so and it seems you really don't have to stress quite as much as other restaurant management types. There doesn't seem to be much of a "failure" state which I'm happy about lol The price tag has had it on my Wishlist since even before release but, I'm hoping I can find some other great vids on it as I'm definitely leaning towards just grabbing it anyhow lol
It looks fun initially but does the assistant actually provide much-needed automation of some tasks If the player is just doing everything they will burnout.
Game seems right up my ally. However, the downfall is the price. I will most likely get it when it goes on sale. I predict it will go on sale during the holiday seasons.
I've been waiting for this game to come to Switch for what seems like forever (I don't have a PC), and so I was really bummed to see it launch at double the price on Switch that it goes for on Steam. I guess I will be waiting a little longer for a sale. I would 100% pay $15 for this game, but to me it just isn't worth $30. I was honestly shocked at that price when I saw it.
Seems like the kind of game I would grow bored of and never touch again after a few hours of playing. Probably because I'm a fan of open world games and this one seems way too restrictive and repetitive. Just not my type of game. But it looks clean and I know a lot of people would enjoy it. ($30 is too much tho)
I was trying to wait for it to be on sale because with taxes, it comes to a whopping 45$ CAD. But I really wanted to play it so here I am… just bought it 😅
Knowing my luck and impatience, it’s probably gonna be on sale in the near future (cause things often end up on sale AFTER I buy it) and I’m gonna hate myself for being so damn impatient XD 😅
It’s only $15 on steam but I guess that’s because it’s already been out for a while? A $15 increase for switch is super high since it’s technically not a new game
This game sounds like fun, but the graphics/style really turn me off. The $30 price point doesn’t help sway me, either. Hopefully other people like it, though. I’m really liking all the cozy games on Switch and I hope they make more.
I don't understand how you all can think $30 is too much for a game.. most of you probably eat out/buy take-out one or more times a month, and that definitely costs more than $30.. Someone put a lot of time into making this game, and it'll provide you with hours of fun.
Most people are talking about the $30 price tag to the game, meanwhile my arse here in Australia is contemplating the $44.99 price tag. And yeah, I'm not a fan of the graphics either.
Sorry played hokko life for some time, realized that I hated it it rejected my chair projects, that's my view, others may love it,Yes some of it was fun,and own paced, still crying over no real major new stuff in animal crossing,as have been a player on this game for along time.🏡🐕🐕🐕🐈🐈🐔🐔🐔🌱🌲🐟🐟🐟🌲
What did you all think!? Lemon Cake is available right now on the eShop for 29.99 🍋SUBSCRIBE for more cozy game content!
Not for me but a nice review non the less.
Have you played The Spirit and The Mouse? A short but enjoyable game you may enjoy.
nice game but I am going to wait till it is a little cheaper or has a discount. For such a game a little too expensive...
I’m pre ordering can’t wait to play it.😊
I want the physical copy
29 dollars seems like a lot for this type of game but it looks cool just don’t really like the graphics to much
Art style is what I tho you’re trying to refer to
its on sale for 15 bucks
On sale right now for $6
Ugh this looks cute. I too though think $30 is too high. Woulda grabbed it at $20. For now it’ll go on my wishlist until it goes on sale. Thanks, Pat! 🧡
@Bente Borgman uh, no it isn’t. Not in the US store. $29.99 I just checked. You got my hopes up.
@Bente Borgman guess it’s different there then. Still full price in the US.

@@hiyaimjenni I can second Wylde Flowers. Its an Amazing game.
Lol @ animal crossing retiree. SAME

would love to see a livestream! agree that 29.99 seems maybe a touch steep but maybe just dont get the full scope of the game yet
I like shop owner games so much that I gave them the whole 30 and didn't even wait for a sale. This game is right up my alley, downloading now.

I totally feel this! I loved cooking and baking but the industry is so tough on your mind and body. 🧡
I love the graphics and premise of this one, but can’t imagine getting enough hours in it to justify the price. Although it would be nice to have a faster paced game in rotation. I love Hokko Life but my biggest critique (other than the bugs 😩) is that’s it’s a touch slow.

It seems too repetitive to be worth $30. It's the type of game you'd play a few hours before shelving it.
I think I’ll definitely keep this in the back of my mind for when a sale pops up or if I have a gift card! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😊

That’s exactly what I was expecting, double the price is crazy
Aww glad this game made you feel nostalgic in your college days.
It’s a cute game, never heard of it until this video.
Thank you for the review! I am with you on the price, I'm going to see if it goes on sale soon.
Please talk about Let's Build a Zoo. I would love to know how it plays on the switch 🎮

Can you tell me, how hard does it get? Because if it's too hard then I think it will be stressful rather than fun
It’s 15.00 until Halloween if you were on the fence
It’s on sale rn 15 bucks I think
wait. stop. you were a pastry chef?!?!?!!?
Yes!! For 8 years 🧡
I love this game so far! But I do think it’s a little pricey for what it is, if it was €15-20 ish I wouldn’t mind so much
I like this! Finally a review to get with!
Will Lemon Cake have a physical version? I love to collect physical copies of games. Not to mention that they take up less room on my Switch storage.
Yes! Physical comes out Nov 1st for 29.99
Good to know. Thanks, Pat!
It’s $44.99 here in Australia lmfao
This looks pretty much my type of game 😂 but I will wait for a sale
It looks fun initially but does the assistant actually provide much-needed automation of some tasks If the player is just doing everything they will burnout.
It's on sale for 14.99 for the next 5 hrs on Nintendo
this game looks so cute but i agree with others who have said that the price is too high. waiting for it to go on sale on switch!

It reminds me a lot of cat cafe manager!
definitely putting this on my wish list!
Definitely looks cozy, I might add it to my xmas wishlist!
I like this game but would hope the plot opens up more for the price. Would definitely wait for a sale to purchase.
This game sounds like fun, but the graphics/style really turn me off. The $30 price point doesn’t help sway me, either. Hopefully other people like it, though. I’m really liking all the cozy games on Switch and I hope they make more.
Your reviews great Pat,Thank you,
Great video
✨Will grab it on sale, definitely not the full price…
Appreciate the in-depth review 👍🏻
It does seem a little pricey but also suuuuuper cute and fun. I think this is going on my wishlist and I will wait for a sale :)
It is 8 bucks on steam right now!
Thanks for the review. Maybe its too stressful for me then. I don't think I'll do well with management games.
Are you gonna stream this??
Put on wishlist for a sale, looks cute
Kinda reminds me of Little Dragon Cafe
I was waiting for this game but when I saw the price … nope ! 😂 but great review !
I think it looks overpriced for what it is. It seems overwhelming, also I don't like feeling rushed, so I'll stick with Hokko Life for now.
I think it’s kinda like animal crossing but a bakery and more stressful
Has my eyes. I would try some cozy games
I don't understand how you all can think $30 is too much for a game.. most of you probably eat out/buy take-out one or more times a month, and that definitely costs more than $30.. Someone put a lot of time into making this game, and it'll provide you with hours of fun.
it reminds me of little dragon's cafe. Thanks for the video!! :D
i am definitely goa get this game, i want to own a bakery irl so this game is right up my alley!
This game looks fun!But I agree with the others.. $30 is a little bit pricey for what its worth. I’m grabbing it if goes down to $20. 😁
Most people are talking about the $30 price tag to the game, meanwhile my arse here in Australia is contemplating the $44.99 price tag. And yeah, I'm not a fan of the graphics either.
Would really like you to play Dreamlight Valley!
Well, d*mmit! The rent’s too high! 😂😂😂 I bought it anyway!
This game looks good I Think i will put this on my wish list ty
I have it on switch and it's buggy and no one is talking about that 😭😭😭
Feels like a mobile game
it’s okay .
It looks cute.
your´re a former pastry chef ?????????????????ßß
I paid $60 for animal crossing, $30 seems a bit more reasonable.
The game is super cute but it is DEFINITELY not worth the asking price, basically robbing my wallet with that price for what the game is
Sorry played hokko life for some time, realized that I hated it it rejected my chair projects, that's my view, others may love it,Yes some of it was fun,and own paced, still crying over no real major new stuff in animal crossing,as have been a player on this game for along time.🏡🐕🐕🐕🐈🐈🐔🐔🐔🌱🌲🐟🐟🐟🌲
Seems Diner Dash-y
Too frantic and jumpy for me but you prolly already knew that. Kid asks if it is multi-player ?
I feel this is one of those games that is just begging for multiplayer!
I'm kinda iffy on the art style and I think $30 is too much for this one. I'm gonna pass.
Not really my cup of tea. And just started Hokko life so have plenty to do.
I like the game but it's too much $ for the that style of game.
Nice video, keep them coming! I’m an Aspiring Tech RUclipsr/vlogger 😃
I agree that the price is too high for this but great review! Very helpful!! Looks super cute.
I came here because of the cover artwork and am once again disappointed to discover it has no relation whatsoever to the ingame art work 🥲
