Why shouldn't you put more than 239 beans in a soup?
Because adding just one more would make it too farty.
This joke stinks. 😂
Hi carl
...no...
Just no...
hi carl i love your channel and your jokes ive been subbed for 4 years now
And 144 beans is just gross.
Soup levels are among the most entertaining. Single screen scroll level contest is a fun idea. Nintendo should award creativity, not punish creators because glitchy features are are player popular.
What players want and what Nintendo wants are generally two very different things. Players care about fun, while Nintendo seems to care more about control.
Players typically want to fix Mario Maker's jank hitboxes and unreliable physics (like trying to jump off note blocks, or with the frog suit), while Nintendo apparently wants people to only have fun in the "right" way. For example, in Zelda TotK, the game really needs a free-play mode or sandbox mode or "assist" mode where players can enjoy all the game's fun mechanics without having to grind for resources all the time... so the game's resource duplication glitches have been extremely popular. It makes the game significantly better, by allowing players to play however they want. But Nintendo didn't like that, and made it a priority to patch out all those accidental features people were enjoying so much.
This would have been perfect for the 4th wall thing
"If you restart, you must beat part 1 before trying again"
29:25 -- You're not buffering the input: you are just boosting too early and bonking on the wall, which prevents you from boosting again for a few moments.
Good observation! Something didn't add up and this was it!
I was rooting for an off-screen thwomp at the end of that Psychosis level
It's 3d world. The thwomp won't insta kill you.
We should question Soup as to why he's only planning on making another 67 levels
That's not nearly enough!
Let's be real: long projects like this often get distracted, Soup will probably have some side ideas to put out too.
Wait I'm going to start seeing you everywhere huh lol
He should add two more to that total!!
watch as the 69th part comes in 420 separate subparts
@@SUCHMISH That was Carl's joke. This was Soupbowl's 2nd "Last Level." Add 67 more.
Carl: Am I dumb?
Editor: E-YES
I just got done with my junior year finals, and I get treated with Carl getting bodied by Soup.
*_Wonderful._*
The thing I'm angriest about is that he didn't call it "bottomless soup".
Always a vibe to see Carl's journey into insanity
Wait how many creators are you watching o.o
holy shit heisenberg
@Madocvalanor Fr this new Heisenberg account is everywhere. Reminds me of That Guy With a Mustache or whatever his name is.
@@Madocvalanor He's watching all of them at once at this point.
@@BRUCEYBOY I've heard rumors that it's a bot acc, but no confirmation
32:44 the moment in every Carl video when he's spent hours playing a horrible level and realizes it's a red coin level by seeing one when he could have just looked at the top right corner of the screen when the level started.
Huge love to Dave the editor for another great video. I swore that pipe level bgm sounded like Zelda 2 temple music...psyshosis.
35:55 I would have laughed so hard if that last pipe was the only one that worked and just softlocked you.
I'm so sad Soupbowl's leaving the troll maker community, in only a short 57 years they're finish part 69 and we'll have to say goodbye. :(
Watching Carl play this level is like Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven”. I’m a watching a man interpret natural phenomenon in ways that make no sense, causing him to slowly descend into madness before my eyes.
For the record, regular SMM viewer here, I‘d love to see more of strawberry jam in an edited format. You are an international treasure by the way ❤
Sadly I can't, algorithm hated it, so I can't pay my editor (and it makes my channel get recommended less). Instead, I will release the full unedited playthrough on LarlLonger so anyone who wants to watch it can: ruclips.net/channel/UCjBPYy24MjHGO0Qw46C6AZw
@@CarlSagan42 Algooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Totally understand, thanks for the link. :)
I remember someone saying "machines didn't steal your job, your boss didn't want to pay you". I still don't get why so many people seem to be against job safety nets. More than anything, it's just WILD.
Especially since there's such obvious options. "Hey, you've been doing this job for 50 years, how about you oversee the automation that now does it for you and make sure it's doing it right?"
@@ehx3419 When you're an assembly-line worker and the machines take over (at 10x line speed, ofc), how many people do you need for QC?
There often aren't obvious options when an industry goes away due to a change in the methods for manufacture or the market. Even more, jobs will be lost due to competition from outside. Arguing against unnecessary loss of jobs is great, but when you refuse to innovate because of a fear of job loss that's when you lose it.
At the end of the day dealing with job market issues like joblessness (not much of an issue atm from what I'm seeing), job thrash (people changing jobs every 6 months or fewer), insufficient wages, lack of worker protections, etc etc etc are super important. Who out there is capable of making changes to improve these things, and has the foresight to make hard but necessary choices that will benefit people down the road? Not our politicians, that much I'm strongly convinced of.
Hopefully things improve naturally. Hopefully safety nets are both rarely necessary and rarely abused. We have to keep our heads up and eyes open to make sure.
@@Zeuskabob1 Here’s the thing: Let’s say society has 1000 people, all of whom are farmers working 8 hours a day to produce enough food to feed 1000 people. Then Dave breeds a better potato, can feed 2x as many people for the same labor. There’s 3 paths forward from there.
1: Everyone now works 4 hours per day
2: Half the population retires. They can write books or whatever, doesn’t matter.
3: Fire half the population, some starve, the rest all become Dave’s servants. Note that the unemployed are starving despite food production going UP.
We’ve chosen option 3. Increases in production should be celebrated for reducing our collective workload. Instead, we built a world where “No one has to clean toilets” will result in a bunch of minimum-wage janitors crying because they can’t feed their families anymore. Thats bonkers.
Make a safety net for everyone, we have the resources. Don’t worry about abuse, worry about suffering and how to alleviate it.
Sometimes I think modern troll design is just pick-a-path but the troll maker tells you afterwards, not before
Not a complaint ftr. These are great
I think it's more about defying expectations. The issues only really comes up if the outcome is predictable.
"This is the shining endorsement right here"
...yeah, it certainly reminds me of The Shining
the plants poping out the pipe taunting you... idk why it just makes me feel extreme anger and idk why
That wrong level troll that was mentioned was by far the best troll ive ever seen. So many layers!
Sidenote from a dev in the german education system: In this very moment teachers and school advisors (at least in the state i live in) are discussing the topic of how to use and/or teach the usage of chatgpt and other AI Tools in the curriculum of my state.
So basicly if they act fast, this years new summer-starting classes or at least next years summer-starting classes might see some lessons on how to propperly and productivly use and not to use ChatGPT and other AI Tools.
So yeah i think the education systems of a lot of states and countries deal with such a big topic at this moment because the first students experiment with it by letting it do stuff the teachers supposed the students to do by themselfs, eliminating the inteded solution ways and the teachers not beeing able to counter such attempts.
I keep forgetting to make this comment. It would be nice if the ending talks about science stuff were somewhere in the title so they could be found by searching. It's impossible to find anything Carl talks about at the end of videos unless it's one of the last videos u watched and can remember the exact video title or bookmarked it some other way and that's really tragic cause there's some really helpful info in there sometimes.
I'd love to see you try building puzzles in portal 2
Going to graduate from college tomorrow. Watched you since highschool. Thanks
37:58 when an amazing tool gets made, don’t just focus on the amazing part. focus on the tool part.
I was given part 1 yesterday in my recommended videos, and watched it. WHAT ARE THE ODDS!?!?!?
4:26 holy balls invisible scroll stop wall?! I swear that has major potential for some kind of fake end-of-level back-to-CP1 bullshit!
I knew CarlSagan was clever from his work with Mario Maker troll levels but hearing him talk about virus and immune system stuff makes it make sense now. No one gets into that field without being fantastic at problem solving and understanding how and why things work with limited information. I've always wondered what would happen if speed runners, game breakers, troll level creaters, rom hackers, etc. put their skills to use in other fields, now I understand that was a mistake, I should be wondering what they do for a living that leaves them with these skills in the first place 😆Fantastic content as usual
Thank you for putting in the sensory overload warning, editor
One problem going on is that people can get hurt in several ways at factory jobs or much worse vicious ways. I consider workers safety all the time. It would be cool to get robots right so that people can make use of them and Avoid ever getting hurt. Let the robot malfunction as long as a human is safe.
43:20 Carl talking politics, and as every other time he's done so, he's correct. This man is a flawless gem. And if you find a flaw? That's just character!
The science/stuff segments at the end of Carl's videos frequently make me think that Carl should be president. ^^
The original Zelda was primarily inspired by the experience of going out to a forest as a child, picking up a "sword"(stick) and going on an epic imagination adventure, whereas the Zeldas afterwards are primarily inspired by the previous Zeldas. I think Breath of the Wild/TotK are a brilliant return to form, and I'd love to see more series just forget about where they've come and return to their base ideas. (All this not to say I don't think there's a place for more classical style Zelda)
This is precisely why I really like it. Zelda 1 and Links Awakening and OoT felt like that epic open adventure to me as a kid, but then once I understood the formula that magic was lost in subsequent Zelda's. TotK is the first time I've felt like that with a Zelda game since I was a kid.
Warning: The speculation ahead may contain spoilers, depending on whether you completed the first Geoglyph main quest.
I'm still very confused about the story though. Like, is there a fourth Rauru Timeline now that didn't start with Skyward Sword at all? Was BotW not just at the end of each timeline, but rather an amalgamation of timelines?
Now that I think about it, that would actually explain a lot. What if this actually causes the Ouroboros concept people are talking about, where the pre-Skyward Sword Hyrule has been fused with the timelines it birthed? What if that's the whole reason Zelda ended up stranding in the past?
@@ehx3419 Also spoilers, but at this point the game has been out long enough that they should be expected:
The Wild duology is weird in terms of timeline placement, but it is incredibly unlikely that it's a new one.
Personally, I'm inclined to say it's probably in the downfall timeline: it's heavily implied that Calamity Ganon is actually OoT Ganon(who is seemingly dead for good in the other two timelines, having been fatally stabbed in his regular Gerudo form in Twilight Princess and Wind Waker and not having appeared in either timeline since, whilst in the downfall timeline Ganon has become his main form) rather than TotK's Ganondorf, given how it's confirmed in-game that the damage to Hyrule Castle inflicted by Calamity Ganon was what loosened the seal on the Demon King rather than the other way around, and the Demon King is notably lacking in pig mode.
That said, none of the timelines are a perfect fit and iirc Nintendo claims some variation of it happens at the end of all three timelines, but has never elaborated on what exactly that means.
A common misconception, which I assume you are having, is that there's no contradiction between the events of Skyward Sword and TotK's Imprisoning War. Those events are set sometime after Skyward Sword, with Sonia being heavily implied to be a descendant of the original Zelda(After all, Rauru certainly isn't, and we know that the Royal Family of Hyrule are descended from her.). Contrary to popular belief, the first Zelda did *NOT* establish the Kingdom of Hyrule. She only moved into the land that became the Kingdom.
@@Missingno_Miner The most popular theory is that these games are at the very end of all timelines, at the point where they go back to being the same. Which actually works because there's one big thing many people overlook (a fellow Redditor brought my attention to that): It's stated that Rauru and Sonia founded Hyrule, but it's never stated they founded the _first_ Hyrule. That's what I'm personally going with: The events of the respective timeline happen (choose any timeline for your copy of the games), then some time passes, and ultimately when the previous Hyrule is long forgotten by most, Rauru and Sonia decide to re-found Hyrule, after which the events detailed in BotW and TotK follow.
It wasn't named as such but the 3D World level with the Piranha Plants in the pipes...WAS ABSOLUTELY A BEAN BURRITO LEVEL.
You should make a channel for just your discussions from your streams. The "Science Stuff" sections are always great!
Something like his science channel, Larl's Lab?
@@xRockLobster75x yea!

Carl: Make a 1 screen troll level
Me: time for a maze with RNG clown car off screen launcher deployer
O M G
My butt selected this video while I had some soft speaking politician talking and my cats just ran and hid 😂
I'd much rather be watching and listening to you ❤
That cursed level at the end sounds like the dialog noises in Golden Light
A Carl video that starts off with a "AAAAAA" is guaranteed to be amazing. 🤣
Whaaaatttt???? Soup bowls afraid to leave the soup!!
I feel like an easy way to get level creators some money is to say that half of all donations while playing somebody’s level goes to that creator.
Please explain how you would manage the logistics of that. Somebody donates $100 while you play a little Timmy level and all of a sudden you owe some random 4 year old $50?
You would need the personal information for each creator to pay them. How would you tackle that task? How would you track them down and verify it's the right information for the right person?
People would absolutely flood your inboxes with shitty levels and constant requests in the hope they'll get paid if you play on stream. Who's going to sift through and filter all that? What's your criteria for who gets chosen?
It's not as simple as you think.
@@xVDRxmost of the time he’s playing levels made by people he knows. The troll level community is pretty tight-knit. I feel like the conversation was about getting money to those people, not just every person he happens to play a level from.
Those setups are so hilarious, it never stops!
32:37 Don't move with a rhythm! Walk without rhythm, so you don't attract the plant!
@20:33 that door creek freaked me out.... I thought someone was coming in my house.
Back to CP is funny and all
But creators need to do more than "See this back to CP1? Well, that's you in 5 minutes lol"
Already saw this suffered by Japanese and German streamers! Now to watch it unfold in English
Chat GPT is useful in quickly expounding on things you already know well or teaching you things you can verify. Like with any other tool, you have to know what you are working with. If you use a hammer on a screw, it may work on a subset of all use cases, but to encompass the entire set, a hammer is the wrong tool for the job.
I use chatgpt to write cover letters, work emails. my resume. recipe ideas. It can be useful for lots of stuff. but structuring letters based on your suggestions is very helpful
Can't wait for the one person that's part of Carl's one screen troll contest to just have an off screen thwomp fall on your head at the start
yay soupbowl is back :) they are my favorite level creator and if this is their last level for real then my god they went out with a bang
thanks carl very fun
Content request kind sir. Can we maybe get a play timer on these levels? I've always been curious if these take 15 minutes or 2 hours on average.
the moment I saw the sensory overload warning i was worried
Conversation at 43:50,
As long as there is quality of life to be improved, there will always be more jobs.
If automation or technology makes certain jobs obsolete, then usually the jobs can grow and expand.
Example I like: before self checkout kiosks people thought it would just take jobs from groceries. But now they offer services like grocery pickup or even delivery
And this proves true across most industries.
which video is part 1?
The level itself is part 2
ruclips.net/video/4P3b8CAx1pM/видео.html kinda sorta I changed the title to make it less confusing
great ending to the chatgpt segment, comradesagan42
Piranha Pipe level needed a tight timer to be perfect
Props to Carl for 100%ing that troll level.
He should of named a level duck soup like the marx brother comedy film
41:20 my teachers have said they'd live to see some experiments done with it, only that the methods used be shown.
Wow, you are right about people buying a Switch for trolls.
I bought mine because I wanted to play 3 games in particular : Zelda BotW, Cadence of Hyrule, and troll levels in SMM2!
How ironic that Nintendo is banning these levels.
22:36 personally I just enjoy troll level making as a hobby and intrest, I want to do it just because I enjoy it not for money (I know you have not played any of my levels but DGR regularly plays mine so, for what that's worth)
The pipe level I think caused me brain damage

Up next, Soupbowl's Final Final Troll Troll Level
As a teacher I use chatgpt to make lesson plans. And I wholeheartedly agree, just asking it to make a lesson plan and use it is a terrible way to use this tool. Instead I use it to brainstorm ideas, i keep what i like and adapt it to my students.
"These shrooms just aren't hitting" 32:10
so long, and thanks for all the fish :)
1:32 TIL it's possible to go into a horizontal pipe without ground/donut and above water
43:30 But that's already a thing, isn't it? If your job becomes obsolete, you'll get state funding for training in a different field.

Regarding the Chatgpt and political stuff... Literally, "Carl for president!"
Spot on on every point
32:00 I think the maker just forgot to add the #DGR
The real troll is that this is the last troll 😂
when is the level submission deadline?
What if the troll is this isn’t their final troll level
Hey, how do I submit the one-screen troll? I have a pretty good idea :)
24:10 yea i was thinking why there was 0 cuts
23:20 ish. Tell creators youll give them 20% of all you would make during playingg the level live and from youtube ads for one month for example. If you want change, you gotta start it yourself. Also imagine the quality this would add to level making and enthusiasm it would bring. It doesnt need to “set up” with something fancy anyway
Please explain how you would manage the logistics of that. Somebody donates $100 while you play a little Timmy level and all of a sudden you owe some random 4 year old $50?

48:36
Oh hey, that's me
I just wanted the pause the video at 24:09 to write a comment, I find it suspicious that Dave left this part uncut for so long. Is he building up to something?
I agree with chatGPT, but there is one thing that is severely scary. People think it's telling the truth, and not just statistically deciding the most probably next word. So it makes a lot of confident mistakes. Just use it as a tool, not a guru.
The sole slowly winning me over on GPT.
I hope Diagonal Mario World 3 comes out soon

why is there not a link to part one anywhere
How do we join the contest? :o
I've used ChatGPT as an information compiler. Sifting through contradicting web articles, wiki pages, and forums is frustrating and having a bot essentially grab what has been repeated over and over by humans throughout history and spit it out to me, instantaneously, is quite useful. It may be wrong information still, but at least I'm spending less time going through flame wars and "Why would you do A? Do B instead" comments and getting a direct answer and explanation. Plus, if you're smart enough, you'll fact check it or ask the bot a few more times to get varying answers that you can then test.
If you have to fact check it, ChatGPT provides no value.
@@Anusien As with most things, you'll be (or should be) fact checking regardless. You're saving time sifting through information, and as we all know, time is the most valuable resource.
