I will be streaming Tears of the Kingdom in 45 minutes -- I haven't played a 3D Zelda game in 15 years, but everything about this game looks GORGEOUS! Open world, beautiful environment, experimentation, and being bad at puzzles XD I'M HYPE come join www.twitch.tv/carlsagan42 When Link couldn't get the door to open, Zelda asked him to... ...try force.
I wish there was a way for creators to upload levels that can only be found by level code. So they wouldn’t show up in endless runs, and there would be no reason to ban them.
This creator is so lucky the levels were restored. It's so sad seeing troll level creators getting banned because they started using broken tracks and fake blocks. I wish they had a seperate account for levels that uses glitches. Take SoupBowl, he had fantastic troll leves without glitches for years, but because he started using glitches all the old levels got deleted as well. And even if he has another account those levels wouldn't be there.
I get that Nintendo doesn't want this glitch ridden troll levels popping up in Super Expert runs etc. So just have a tag for "troll level" which exempts it from the pools for Endless runs. That way these beautiful levels can still exist without impacting the kids who just want to play regular Mario levels.
Why is Nintendo like this? I suspect it's because it's a bunch of 70 year old executives in Japan who literally don't understand their fan base and just want to enforce their vision, namely, of a game with simple rules to be followed, and rules are to be followed because This Is Japan.
Geek uploaded a yt vid about this same level like 3 hours ago, and in it, twitch chat was saying that Carl should play this level as well... gotta love nice timing. :3
Besides the meta-loop troll, that level had two outstanding trolls with the 'teleport you behind the thwomp that's chasing you' and the 'door exit above the spike with the walls on tracks' trolls. Just excellent work 👌
i have an idea, carl of 33:00 how about you and a friend have 5 minutes to build and upload a level, then you send them to eachother and see what happens please bring that series back that was so much fun to watch
33:11 Better level contest idea: Don’t get CP2. A bunch of levels doing a “CP2 is wrong” setup. I think it was used once in MM1, and forgotten about, after that one level (I think it was something about “letters,” I can’t recall the exact level name. My memory sucks), until Wagon World used it. We really need the community to explore unique ways to create/use setups where grabbing CP2 prevents a player from winning, whether through a lack of a powerup being required, or through hiding the ending between CP1 and CP2, or by making “CP2” lead back to the beginning, or other creative “CP2 sucks to grab” ideas.
35:28 You got Finger 11’d? “I’m not paralyzed, but I zeem to be zuc by you, I wanna make a move, but I’m juZt ztanding ztill. If your body matchez what your eyez can do, you’d probably Thwomp right through, me on my WAY to you.”
26:54 Hey Carl! When you were looking at the 1-UPs and the Super Mushrooms and wondering if they were on a track, I was wondering before you hit the ? block to his the switch why the 1-UPs were traveling faster than the Super Mushrooms. Do Super Mushrooms travel SLOWER when on tracks than when on the ground???
18:29 The one time learning has actually occurred and it's immediately used against him. 😂 If Carl would have just forgot about the fish again that one time, he would have won a lot quicker.
31:11 these blocks are probably cheese proof, because you could throw up the shell, jump, grab the vine, jump again immediately, catch the shell midair and enter the pipe with the shell.
I'm not sure, but I *think* the kaizo blocks @ 31:20 are part of the bone shell de-cheese along with the vines. Not sure if there's room for a perfect up-throw there though.
I find it hilarious that the two back-in-pipe setups are completely legit. They COULD have warped you into the pipe, but no, you get sent with an ordinary contraption and still fall for it
what i love about these setups so much is that if you look back at the recording you see how much time you have to react and are just like "damn, i was a dumbass for not reacting to that in time." thats what makes the troll level good, every single death makes you feel like the idiot
Here's a Zelda appropriate pun (spoiler free of course) What do Zelda enemy RUclipsrs sign off with? "Don't forget to Like-Like, Comment, and Subscribe" :)
I love how Geek and Carl uploaded a video of this exact same level by Guts on the same exact day. 😂 Glad I rewatched that level though cause at first I didn’t get the ending either. 😂
Nintendo bans glitches, not evil. If Carl makes an evil level, that just means Carl is evil. But if Soup makes a glitchy level, that means that Nintendo caused or allowed that glitch to exist, which reflects poorly on them as a business. There’s also the issue of levels becoming unwinnable if a glitch they rely on is patched, which again would reflect poorly on both the game and its makers.
@@eroraf8637 How would the former reflect poorly on them as a business though? And levels store the version they've been made in, so glitches being patched never causes levels to become unwinnable.
That first level gave me a horrible troll idea. A troll level where you use switch states so that it's impossible to win if you die between CP1 and CP2 (using a dev exit to clear check). The best part is the Ikea instructions of "Please just do better." "Don't die." (Off screen Thwomp) "From CP1. Start over." Also for bonus trolling, the entire area from CP1 to CP2/hint is a twice twice, except for the first couple of trolls.
This stuff needs to have its own category that won't get it banned if properly labeled. Just give players a free skip or let them filter them out, and patch your game, Nintendo. This is all you.
Contest level idea, shamelessly inspired by Wagon World: Twin Levels, two creators collab to make one level each and hints to proceed in one level are found in the other one
I want someone to make a level title "you don't need to check for kysos" and then make a level that has kysos in every place that someone could think of. AND make it a troll level
Nintendo: "We want to give people a game they can be creative and have fun with." Players: *Make creative and fun levels* Nintendo: "No, not like that. >=("
I feel the biggest difference to rom hack is that on hack everything is possible. Because anything can happen it's not as big surprise when something wierd happen.
When we say you and Geek make Mario Maker worse, you should take that as the highest compliment. 😅 (You two make my days bright, and I don't think asking for more Offscreen thwomps and hot garbo is a bad thing).
Unpopular opinion, I don't think a lot of glitches makes for a fun or entertaining level. When you can't see what kills you, things happen for no reason, you suddenly teleport or pass through blocks... Comedy is the subversion of expectation. When there's no consistency at all, you can't have expectations to subvert. In order to break the rules there has to be fixed rules in place.
why doesn't Nintendo just create a label "glitched" that way beginners know when to skip or not play... not exactly a rocket science decision ... but instead Nintendo persist to shun and persecute the people actually dedicated to their games.
I still don't understand why nintendo continues to ban some of the most ingenious level designers in that community. Literally all that's keeping it alive.

45 minutes isn't enough to watch the video AND catch the beginning of stream, Carl
Saw that one coming a mile away...
Carl, where can I get the hoodie that you wear in all your thumbnails? I absolutely love it but can't find anything close!
Trife horse
Re the yellow platform: Pretty sure you can set it to move up and down or left and right.
Guts really went from making a masterclass glitch-free troll level to the most glitch-full troll level known to man without batting an eye huh
Truly one of the greatest creators of our time
Welcome to 2023, where Mario Maker 2 troll levels are basically SMW romhacks
And are like contraband.
Not even close. Closer, but SMW romhacks are absolute monsters.
Paging Juzcook.
And smw rom hacks are basically new games
Carl used to be able to open levels in the editor and understand them. Now he refers to individual trolls as if they're sentient.
Thank you for playing my level!!
But WHY were you banned, what in the level?
Dude had like 12 glitches on the first screen alone. Massive respect, but how the hell.
Broken tracks, black hole, entity limits, red coins, and only God knows what else! Wouldn't be surprised if x=9 played a role, too 😆
Can't fathom why this level would be banned in the very slightest.
It was obviously banned because of the maker's nationality and nintendo being racist against japanese people.
nitendo is fucked up thats why
γυτσ being simultaneously "yuto" & "guts" (gamma upsilon tau sigma) may be one of the most concidentially big brain names ever
Player at the release of Mario Maker 2: Checking everywhere for hidden blocks
Players now: Checking everywhere for fake blocks
I love how we went from “Nintendo is horrible for banning passionate creators” to accepting it as part of the troll meta
I wish there was a way for creators to upload levels that can only be found by level code. So they wouldn’t show up in endless runs, and there would be no reason to ban them.
@@Bspammer Nintendo would still ban glitch levels, their policy on glitches is very poor

i love that at this point you can barely distinguish between the editor jump-cutting to a different part or the level just beeing the level
Truly Troll makers are modern Pavlov's. Pavlov rang a bell for dogs to expect food, and troll makers put a door for Carl to expect fish.
I feel like this man google searched "every known glitch in Mario Maker 2" and then proceeded to make a level showcasing every one of them
Besides the meta-loop troll, that level had two outstanding trolls with the 'teleport you behind the thwomp that's chasing you' and the 'door exit above the spike with the walls on tracks' trolls. Just excellent work 👌

22:50 I can't be bothered to check but I am pretty sure YOU used these platforms in the getting over it level
LVega12 shows all the little mushrooms (I think) in the backround in the smw level, that was amazing. Respect.
Nintendo: Press BAN at *now.*
Banned Wagon is on it!
"You should ban yourself NOW!"
Man the moment where he realized he got trained by the fish to dodge the goal when he finally made it there was one of the best moments ever 😂
I love that after the creator's name is revealed as Guts, the level becomes full of guts as well.
every time the editor cuts I have to wonder if it was a cut or if the level can just make that happen
Wow, the troll density in that first level was absolutely nuts! Every third step a new troll to kill in a way the player never sees coming!
Yay! More science stuff. Please consider uploading your science tangents as shorts in addition. I'd watch the heck out of that.
24:43 amazing that he couldn't find the troll here and wants to find it. But once he found it, he doesn't know how to dodge it anymore. lol
The guts name story is so cool and the tag guts is cool too
When you're so good at Mario Maker level design that you make it feel like Lunar Magic shenanigans are at play.

It’s a buggy mess indeed, otherwise great content, continue showing off the levels before they get deleted by nintendo.
18:29 The one time learning has actually occurred and it's immediately used against him. 😂 If Carl would have just forgot about the fish again that one time, he would have won a lot quicker.
Isn't it ironic that SMM2 has a glitch sound effect yet they ban glitches?
10:06 That troll was super clever, I wouldn't even be mad lol
31:11 these blocks are probably cheese proof, because you could throw up the shell, jump, grab the vine, jump again immediately, catch the shell midair and enter the pipe with the shell.
That second troll level was fresh. So many new concepts jammed between throwbacks
Few levels in recent memory have done such a good job of instilling this much despair in Carl. Delicious
I'm not sure, but I *think* the kaizo blocks @ 31:20 are part of the bone shell de-cheese along with the vines. Not sure if there's room for a perfect up-throw there though.

@22:26 That was just a regular moving platform. They didn’t actually attach it to the track; the track is just meant to mislead the player.
i love these fakeout trolls
they leave u with a (what just happened) expression
a good thing for a fakeout troll competition

Mario Maker 2 is reaching the same glitch filled era that Mario Maker 1 had at its end and I am loving it
Yaayyyy another video from Carl!!
🥰🥰🥰🥰

Corporate wants you to find the difference between this picture and this picture

18:29 - This level is Pavlov approved!
"This is brutal," says the man who made "Please Just Do Better :)" and "Rhymes With Fun" 😂
"The brain was b-" (back in pipe). Lol
This isn't even Mario maker anymore, this is Mario breaker
You should make a "How am I going to end up in there?" contest.
28:04 did spring or skewr change layer?
Geek's 4th wall contest could be ever better second time around.
"the brain was big" famous last worde
35:00 that smug fuckin fish lmfao
Carl and Geek are keeping this genre alive.
Intro: 2:24-2:31 + 1:31-1:34 + 3:34-3:39.
it show you that the egg need 3 blocks high of space to spawn it and when you jump on it make it only 2 or less and why the egg did not spawn.
How badly can I break it?
Yes.
Nintendo: "We want to give people a game they can be creative and have fun with."

Never change.

Ok, now I finally know why it is the year of the GUTS
