I usually ninja watch and never comment but I had to show support. your advice is golden. " you feel lonely when you're used to depending on others for things". Another thing you explained in a different video is that its not our job to disqualify ourselves from friends or in certain situations. almost like we think we are burdens to them. you either have a psychology degree or have been to therapy a lot. thanks for the content either way. I’ll be honest, I used to depend on friendships to keep me from being alone. I hated being stuck in at home by myself and would be desperate to go out with people or someone. This caused me to create and maintain toxic friendships just to say I had friends and just to have someone to spend time with. I had ZERO boundaries. And then I was forced to be alone, and I haven’t felt lonely since then. I am finally able to sit in complete solitude and deal with myself- which is what we try to avoid as humans. We don’t want to deal with our thoughts, traumas, feelings, we want to find quick and temporary solutions. I found God through this journey. And now, I’m no longer willing to accept half ass relationships in my life. I’m not interested in temporary relationships. I’m not interested in dumbing myself down to fit in anymore. I love the person I see in the mirror. And I know that this healing process will call for healthier relationships in the future. Yes, some days I do still wish that I had someone to go on a road trip with, but I know that it’s coming. And it’ll be the right people at the right time.

Ok so I’m probably not your target audience as I’m 50. But I am just about to start my life again after leaving my marriage, my home and my career. And I am really blown away by your wisdom at such a young age. Thank you for reminding me that being alone can be an incredible opportunity for growth and fulfilment. I could relate to a lot of what you said and I could feel little sparks of the 21 year old me saying “Hey you remember me? I’m back!” 😁

I think it helps if you have friends, this last year i lost all the people I thought were good friends that turned out to be fake. It makes me feel better to see someone in a similar situation.
Having a man, having kids, all things society expect of us. And of course they can be really great and add something beautiful to life. It's not in any way sad or to pity or making life less nice when you don't have them though. Loving your videos and energy Negeen! And I absolutely loved the acting class tip!! I did lots of acting years ago and made some great friends from that! Literally everything about that was great; the practice sessions together, grabbing some food together in between rehearsals.
Partly true. There is a difference between things people say and things people actually do. And there is also a difference in how these things are viewed between different groups within the society or accross country. In my country for example, most woman work very few hours and stay home with the kids. Of course, that's amazing if it is what you choose and love to do. But in my country, when we start working more as a female, questions are being asked such as: "Ohh, how are you going to do this with the kids? Are you not leaving them alone too much?" While rarely anybody asks it if a male does work more. And also there is definitely much more of a focus on having kids.
It's super important to keep in mind things are different accross the globe. We all have different histories, different rates in which things change and different ways in which the society works. Having said that, I definitely believe things are as you mention it in let´s say a country such as US.

Hi Negeen, allowing myself to be alone with myself and go with the flow of my thoughts without too many distractions is actually how I get to know myself better! My parents also had an arranged marriage but they divorced when I was 3, I also refuse to settle just for anyone and give up my time and energy. It's good to see that you're doing well, I'm getting there too. Slowly but surely.

Luckly i have a pet,no man but i want to get 8 babies 6 mine and 2 adopts. It is sometimes fun being single but loneliness is number one leader to depression.
Not only was this video really helpful for me, but I can see this video being so helpful for LOTS of people and that’s something to be proud of for sure, Negeen! While I can’t relate on living alone as I do live with my brother, I have been single for years now and can’t take pieces of these ideas and put them towards not feeling alone when it comes to romantic relationships. I couldn’t agree more on acting classes!! I took some in college and made so many friends and now hearing you did them as well just makes me want to find another one near me to take on again. First, that sweater is amazing. Second, great video with all great points, all of these hit home. I was in such a weird, bad mood today but this reminded me again of all the positive things associated with being alone. I think I’m just in a funk when it comes to making my space my haven right now. With a negative budget, all the rearranging in the world hasn’t been cutting it. It’s missing the comfort feel and I’m trying to figure out how to remedy that. BUT awesome video :)

My parents won’t let me get a dog either 😂 but my ultimate dream is to be a single lady with a dog once I move out. I also recognize the unique situation I’m in where I don’t have the responsibility of a partner or kids or even a pet and can focus on my creative writing. Omg Negeen, how do you know just what to say and when?! I literally came back today from a weekend getaway all by myself in NY/NJ and though it was nice, the thought of returning to my apartment and my room felt so nice, just like you said in point #2! Though I currently live with a roommate now, my room is my space space but not for too long because I’m moving in 54 days and I’ll be in my very own apartment all to myself! Thank you for making such relatable videos. They will really come in handy when I live alone next year, though I plan on getting a cat 6 months in lol. Great points, Negeen! I especially like the idea of making your home your oasis. I’ve found that cooking and having tasty (but healthy) snacks in the fridge/pantry are also good ways to combat loneliness. P.S. We have a lot in common: I am Persian (half), an only child, and live alone without a pet or boyfriend (lol). I love your channel because every post resonates

After my 35 years of relationship ended with my wife, I was alone for the first time. Somehow I started to learn Zumba, Bollywood, and Hip hop dance. Every day I am the only guy in the class dancing with so many ladies and making friends. Dancing changed my life. By the way, I was the shy guy all my life. Now I own the stage. You should try too. 💃 💃

I love good food too,and interior design is my passion ,i dont know if practicallly am good with it but i have lots of ideas,i love a colourful house but am also possessed with classy them of black and white colours only and live plants. I like entertainment and a 85 coloured tv is my idea or projector at amazon they are cheaper or alibaba.thats the little information i can give i dont want someone getting to know whats fully on my mind.

I so much agree with books! Although you have to be careful with the kind of book you're picking up. It has to be something that interests you cause if not, you'll gonna get bored out of it. I do it all the time while I'm on my bus ride. So instead of being dramatic and thinking how lonely I am while looking out of the window at the bus, I'd get a book and read.

It's clearly an issue if you need to post videos on female loneliness. You won't handle this isolated lifestyle as you get older, humans are simply not built for it. Everything you have said are coping mechanisms for avoiding the reality of the fact you are lonely. This is well known in psychology. These behaviors work for a while but mid life it starts to wane causing a crisis.
