    Team Structure in the design phase is largely underrated and has huge implications if you don't get it right. I find it odd that it was mentioned here that if you setup a team and start changing the name and channels, that it won't be reflected on the Sharepoint side. That to me is a major. I encountered this issue last year and the problem still persists and is not resolved. You basically have to trial and error a team until you get it the way you want and then create another team from scratch with every move being perfect so that what is in team is reflected in sharepoint

    Is it possible to have a meeting with someone that doesn't have a microsoft account in teams?

      Caroline Persson definitely, but you may need to invite them via outlook. The guest can join the meeting as an anonymous user in their browser

    Funny comments about early microsoft at the beginning. In the early days of MS-DOS, there WERE no servers. Each machine sat by itself. The servers were your sneakers as you walked a floppy from one machine to another.

    The desktop app is self updating so the recommend the web browser to stay up to date is wrong. The Desktop app is the most complete experience the web browser version is limited.

    • @christophmagnussen
      @christophmagnussen  4 года назад +4

      The desktop app gets updated every two weeks, except there is a important change. From the Microsoft-Website:
      "If an important update is required, the teams will bypass this schedule and release the update as soon as it is available."
      The web application gets updated weekly.

    *Guest access accepted*
    Edit: When you Change the name of a Team, the Sharepoint Site and Outlook Group associated, gets the new name. What doesn't change is the URL of the Sharepoint Site or the Group email. This is to ensure access isn't broken for existing links. You can, however, change those in the admin settings if you wish. (FINALLY! You could do that earlier this year.)

    • @myslimeorg

      Where do I change Group email? I am only aware that it has been possible via Powershell.

    • @eingoluq

      Lukas Jancok whoops yes you are right, only through powershell. But you can at least still do it

    • @Worrelpa
      @Worrelpa 4 года назад

      Correct. The site name and the URL are two separate items. Thing is if you change the url all existing links to a site become invalidated. Which is why it does not change. It may change in the future as Microsoft increase the integration between the two services.

    I cannot find the planner in teams. What is necessary for that, please?

    • @eingoluq
      @eingoluq 4 года назад +2

      Only paid version. Free teams don't get Planner sadly.

    • @Worrelpa
      @Worrelpa 4 года назад +1

      If you have an office 365 subscription you can add a planner using the tab plus button. One plan is created and you can add more.

    • @larsvankoningsveld6179
      @larsvankoningsveld6179 4 года назад +1

      I had the same question, I think you need an Office 365 Business Premium subscription, which is the only one that includes Teams Premium, as far as I could tell.

    I work as a geotechnical engineer and have at least 400 projects per year, where I am the leader or at least involved. Is Teams still usable for such a large ammount of different projects?
    PS: Gerne auch deutsch ;)

    • @neo778
      @neo778 4 года назад +1

      Daniel1991FG hängt von den anderen Mitgliedern in den Projekten ab. Aber du hättest quasi damit auch 400 Posteingänge. Über „Aktivitäten wirst du über alle Nachrichten in einer Liste informiert. In Outlook hast du ein wenig mehr Kontrolle, was du noch bearbeiten musst etc. Dafür musst du dich aber auch um die Ablage kümmern.

    • @christophmagnussen
      @christophmagnussen  4 года назад

      With the few infos, and a first estimate, Yes!
      400 projects/year means about 2 different projects every day. If you have a good team structure, the individual teams consistently show & hide the Planner and use tags disciplinly, then Teams even helps you keeping a better overview I would say. There are of course many variables. But I hope that helps as a first assessment!
      Mit den wenigen Infos, und einer ersten Einschätzung, erstmal Ja!
      400 Projekte/Jahr heißt dann ca. 2 unterschiedliche Projekte jeden Tag. Wenn man eine gute Teams-Struktur hat, dann die einzelnen Teams konsequent ein- & ausblendet den Planner sowie Tags diszipliniert nutzen, hilft dir Teams sogar besseren Überblick zu behalten würde ich jetzt schätzen. Das sind natürlich viele wenn und aber, hoffe das hilft als erste Einschätzung!
