    I had low voltage problems with my mechman alt (I think my stinger battery harmed my alt, my stinger battery was lightly smoking and swollen to the point it looked like it was going to explode so I took that as a sign that there was a problem. I accidentally put the positve on negitive and that pretty much ruined my battery) I replaced the battery but still only got 13.5 volts so I sent the mechman in with no warranty and they looked it over and sent it back and when I put my alt back in it read 14.5 volts. I was very happy with they way they treated me, they definitely have great customer service. I am impressed with mechman overall.

    Move up to a two alt set up so your not over drawing just one alternator and over heating it. Use one for charging system the other for car audio system exclusive. One that’s designed for High amps draw that is super beefy.

    Does upgrading the alternator affects the mileage of car?

    • @DonkeysBreath
      @DonkeysBreath  5 лет назад +1

      No just swapping the alt to a larger one will not. The larger load installed in your car ( ie pwr amp, inverter , etc.) will be the factor that will slightly, very slightly affect your mileage when in use. Where or not you have a upgrade alt or not

    pulley combination. How could that have damaged the brush and ring and regulator.
    They sound scamme like power bastards salesman who refused to answer simple questions too Goddamned lazy to learn and give back answers to my question.
    So far for many hours searching through videos and articles there are no good manufacturers of alternator upgrades that will handle the car's load and running an inverter for welding, lighting, and ventilation.
    I loosely suspect the 220amp will handle the requirements but in the 300 amps would be safer because of initial starting arc current and for better load duty cycle and part longevity to dissipate potential heat.
