Question : I have a C4 95 and I was just wondering. My alternator is on the driver side front of engine and doesn’t really look like there’s room for side x side duel alts. Usually a good/quality in-vehicle Lithium battery can take care of voltage drop issues in those vehicles. Bought a "High Performance" alternator from Ohio Generator for my 2009 Mazda 3 2.3L engine. The best they could do was 180 amp peak. It is absolute shyt at idle. It completely shut down and stopped working at just over a year, barely out of warranty. They made me pay to have it fixed even though I called them and complained. It was 180amp max, 13.8 voltage but drops down to 11.5 volts under load at idle. Stereo system is around 2000 watts total. I sent it back to them after it broke, they charged me over $100 to fix it. Got it back, worked for another year with same crappy performance. I have all my wiring done with double 0 aught wire from battery to my amps and one 0 aught wire from the alternator positive wire to battery terminal. Big three, all grounds are upgraded to 0 aught wire in addition to factory grounds, ohm metered all below 0.04 grounds. There is no reason this alternator should perform so poorly like it does. I just ended up buying a 6 phase Denso hairpin from Singer. There is no way I am going to send it back again to Ohio Generator. Even if they offered to fix it for free, I wouldn't send it back to them! Ohio Generator couldn't make a hairpin for my vehicle when I bought my alternator from them orginally and when I called them recently, they still couldn't. Ohio Generator puts all competitors down but they're the ones who can't make a decent alternator for my vehicle. Seems all they did was rewind the copper on an OEM alternator for my car and called it a day. I hear they can make decent alternators for the vehicle makes that already come with a big alternator but if you have a foreign make of vehicle, stay far away from Ohio Generator!
I have a Mechman on my 98 Yukon and it is ok. But I hate how it kicks my battery light on. I have e-mail Mechman on this and have called them but got no response. I guess every alternator company has there ups and downs.

But the mechman alternators aren't as easy to install as the others. Plug and play with stock belts and stock everything is alot better than spending a whole day rewiring and cutting dash/firewall with a mechman.

Alts are limeted by the winding that can fit in the housing so there are just good places that remanufacure stock housing for less because your only paying for the high output winding and a fresh set batting new hd regulator then for the ones whoes limited by there are places like mechaman that one off chassis that direct bolting in your car and fit more winding so depends but mech make good stuff and they make best you can out your chassis it depend cool both are good as humans we aren't perfect nothing we makes gina last forever the most perfect highest stuff fails or is not promised so truth
I'd go with yall but have already clamped my friends '270' at 233 max amps, turned me away. He bought it on a sale you had through SSA and never installed it after it was benched.
Well, installation is 99% of it. Too small wire? burns it up. Belt too long? burns it up. Bad grounds, burns it up. Dunk the whole vehicle in a mudhole, hates life for a while THEN burns up. These are HIGH PERFORMANCE alternators for NON STANDARD vehicle additions. If you are looking for a replacement alternator for your car with a 200 watt amp, we are not the company for you. If you are looking for an alternator for extremely high performance, living in a harsh and punishing environment then that is where we step in. If your "run forever / 20 years" alternator needed to refill 5+ batteries over and over and over with constant 200+amp loads on it, it would probably last ONE TIME. I personally have one of @Meade916 old small case 240 amp units on my jeep with a Chevy 350 engine that's been running flawless over the past 10 years. It has the correct belt, it has the correct tension, it has the right sized wire for power and ground. Gets splashed with mud/water all the time. Still charges 14.8 volts.

I need a 200 or 250 alternator for a 1994 Cadillac deville. Can't find one on mechman site
I have a Mechman on my 98 Yukon and it is ok. But I hate how it kicks my battery light on. I have e-mail Mechman on this and have called them but got no response. I guess every alternator company has there ups and downs.
Mechman is the way to go 💯💪
really odd they dont reply to questions. Was the major factor in selling my mechman before it failed for ohio generator.
That's a tenny alt that they repaired if anyone don't know
can you make this alternator for daihatsu Mira l2s
I wish u made a 300 amp Alt for a 2019 Toyota Camry 2.5L
I bought from Custom Electric Services they will custom make for any vehicle great service!
these guys are on drugs seriously, one they dont even carry an alt for my car which is stupid only company ive seen that dont carry an alt for my car, 2nd for same car but a 2009 which is only 8 yrs older then mine they want $400 for a 240 amp alt. wtf not in this lifetime. i got an high output alt for my car off ebay 165 alt which only cost me 165 lol ya a dollar an amp which the alt is legit i had it tested when i got it in the mail. anyhow only thing i had to do was swap out the pully which is no big deal as when winter is over ima put spacers on my ac compressor to pull the compressor further from my engine block which will take up the literally 1/2 in of slack that my belt has with the pully that cam with the alt. all in all my point here is their prices on alts are insane. now i can see 250 or even 260 for a 240 alt but 400 get the fuck outa here.
LOL! Bet that Ebay bought POS done bit the dust! How you gonna brag about buying Ebay POS alternator?! You got played.
But the mechman alternators aren't as easy to install as the others. Plug and play with stock belts and stock everything is alot better than spending a whole day rewiring and cutting dash/firewall with a mechman.
Will this fit on a 2013 z71
All applications are listed on www.mechman.com
How much for that alt for my 98 Chevy k1500 truck 5.7
I bought a 240 mechman 10 years ago and it finally went out. I think I just need to replace the bearings and clean it.
Could be....or just send that one to me (Tony@Mechmn.com) and i'll give you 30% off the purchase of any Mechman Alternator listed on www.mechman.com :)
Who are the other guys?
Just wished y’all made an alternator for my truck
Epic power I'm glad I went with mech man FTW
apex alternators nuff said
Do you offer an alt for Chrysler 200 2013?
All applications are easily found on www.mechman.com
@@mechmanalternatorsI looked there prior to this comment. I did not see an alt for my vehicle unless the alt is the same for both the 2.4 an 3.6 engines. ( mine is the 2.4 l)
@@nickstalhood5380 If your vehicle is not listed on our site, we unfortunately do not currently make anything for that application.
Usually Mike at Singer Alternators can do the more one-off type units.
@@mechmanalternators ok thanks for the reply. I will check them out. Does excessive amperage make decent alts as well?
Waiting to get my 370a back from you guys, I'm doing a custom built on my 2001 Tahoe.
Tighter belt about half an inch to an inch shorter
It is normal for the alternator to get too hot
Do a vs Mean Green.
$700 for alternator ,that fucker better work!
I lost my train of thought when I saw the pretty girl 0:37
if your going to buy a h/o alt buy it a company that knows what the fuck there doing.
Also notice how they don't reply to anyone's concerns... shit company..
They didn't answer your shit concerns...don't drag other people into your personal dislike for the company..
I love my elite 370a unit.
So I seen a ad on FB about JS alternators and decided to research them. Almost all the reviews are horrible. Taking people’s money and it months before they get a product and on some it’s the wrong unit. Then it’s months to get it another one.
Damn my broke ass wants the cheap one. Ham radio is killing me
to the guy who post this vid i bought a mechman 240 amp about 2.5 yrs ago looks similar to the one in the video i installed it in a 626 mazda the 80's model ,the alternator came with a resistor which i have since removed because the car seemed to have one already in there somewhere this alternator did not come with a ground point i have installed a 0guage ground point very close to it but not on the alternator itself, unlike stock alternators this alternator does not spit out amps as stated in ad it must be under load i bought a clamp meter to see for myself what it has been doing i have 3 yellow optimas and one red in the engine it shoots out about 50-90 amps with my volume at 10 i could draw about 200 at full tilt i havent gone higher with the clamp connected....
Alts are limeted by the winding that can fit in the housing so there are just good places that remanufacure stock housing for less because your only paying for the high output winding and a fresh set batting new hd regulator then for the ones whoes limited by there are places like mechaman that one off chassis that direct bolting in your car and fit more winding so depends but mech make good stuff and they make best you can out your chassis it depend cool both are good as humans we aren't perfect nothing we makes gina last forever the most perfect highest stuff fails or is not promised so truth
customer service sux !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd go with yall but have already clamped my friends '270' at 233 max amps, turned me away. He bought it on a sale you had through SSA and never installed it after it was benched.
video showing your Alternators only lasted 3 months, until all bearing were worn out ?
Love em sell em
Why do some fit cars and some don't fit my car is 1996 and can't find shit to fit its pissing me off
Thanks this is good to know so now I know I need to order a high output alternator from js not eBay mag man is more expensive
Sucks to be mag man then.

how come they only last 5 years ? Its very sad that after the cost of a MEchMan Alt it can run reliable for more than 5 years.
@@mechmanalternators I'm looking for a 240 or larger amp unit for my 2008 ram 2500 6.7 diesel. Would your unit have a smaller pulley requiring a smaller serpentine belt?
@@mechmanalternators will this alternator fit a 2020 mustang gT? I’m installing the Big 3 upgrade kit, air suspension and a fully custom speaker system. So 1 subwoofer , two amps , two tweeters , 2 component speaker(rear and door) what you said make so much sense so I want to make sure it’s done right
@@christlike_5.043 Reginald, the 2015> Mustangs actually come with a really good alternator FACTORY, around 200 amps. So with the level of audio you've added I think you'll be OK as long as you use good grounds/proper wiring. If your audio setup exceeds 3,000 watts then I would start looking into our 320 or 370 amp offerings that are located on www.mechman.com
Mechman doesnt honor their products if you purchase it from amazon.. They forced me to pay to have it fixed after 2months of purchasing it..
It would be really awesome if mechman would make one for my car which is Chevrolet cobalt as 2.0 liter I would definitely shop with yall
@ATVMan24
IF I WAS THEM ILL REPLY TO U UNLESS THEY WANT BAD BIZZ EXPOSED LOL
Mechmans idle must be like 80 amps lol. 2400 engine idle this guy has lost his mind
Da hackmans hackman go to sonicelectronix n order 1....
