  • DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.....This video is just for entertainment and educational purposes. Alternator demo using a Delco CS alternator, this alt has a built in regulator and has a output voltage 14.5v to15v, 75 -105 amp. The induction motor is powered from home 120v ac current I'm only using the motor because it much easier to talk over and explain things unlike with a loud gasoline engine running. In this video I'm showing some the wiring and hooking up to battery also capacitors. I have done a small mod to the alt so you can use it with or without the built in regulator, with this mod you can us it to run power tools with universal motors also arc weld, and run the alt self energized. You would be hooking this alternator to an engine, of course you can just buy a generator which puts out much more wattage. This is not practical generator please buy a generator, let myself and the others gear heads build this stuff. Thanks for Watching check out my newer projects, Please Subscribe ‪@kurtscottage‬ Peace Out

*This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries, **batery.repair** and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!*

There is no free lunch. The electric motor that is turning the alternator will use draw far more energy than the alternator can produce.

Old fashioned "crank to generate electricity" type alternator (just like them shakable flashlights that charged up as you shakedown them) with a compressor electrical pulley engine. Start up the compressor and it will automatically turn the alternator generating electricity so the compressor engine can keep on turning

Good demo, thumbs up! Capacitors are a great addition to many electrical systems. They help inverters and 12v fridges get that initial starting current (grunt/torque) they need for heavier loads and are a great companion in a solar system.
I made a 6 pack of 2.7v 700 farad caps with Anderson plug & balance circuit for use with a number of things at home,ie, battery charging, 12v fridge (always on in 4wd), I have started my forklift & mowers with it and a number of other uses also. It helps greatly with 12v fridge in cruiser, as I have had a few issues with electricals, terminals , etc, getting enough volts to start fridge and they can regularly drop out on low volts if they hit about 10.5v @ compressor, which can easily happen with any small resistance in the circuits, so bottom line is the caps have stopped those issues as I have and Anderson Plug and H/duty cigarette plug on the fridge, I can plug the caps straight to it and the cig socket. Anyhow, thanks for the share, and I like ur vids.

Thank you for this simple demonstration. You seem to have good luck as you have not burned out the regulator yet. Be advised that these CS Delcotron alternators are the most temperamental I have ever encountered. Just too many wires for my liking and you need to buy a special 4 pole battery isolator (instead of 3 pole) if you wish to use one. I am perplexed as I have already burned out a couple internal regulator modules while trying to adapt this CS alternator to a home built stationary power plant.

This is the correct way to get "free energy" it's gotta come from somewhere. Wind does work, or water uses gravity to do work, or you gather the gillions of watts the sun throws at us by the minute with a solar panel. It's gotta come from somewhere.

you are right, sparks around the battery are no joke. I had a pinto back in the day. it had loose battery terminals. I shut it off, went into the store. came back out, turn the key, and instantly there was an explosion. my hood blew up about 4 in, while still locked in place! when I finally did open the hood, acid was dripping off the inside of the hood, and where the battery was, well, it was gone!!! there was no longer any battery, except for a 3-in cracked piece of plastic. I couldn't find the metal plates, any pieces of battery terminal, nothing. one spark, and it was gone. it was one of those refurbished batteries that put out a lot of fumes. yeah I'm a lot more careful since that happened...😯💥😳💯💯💯

So, a 12v dc motor running off the battery starts the motion, the alternator can then be switched on, which recharges the battery(when wired correctly)
Then plug the inverter to the battery which then converts 12 vdc -to- 120 vac.
The amps (everything needs so many amps to run correctly, usually says how many on each appliance) which you can get more with more rpm on the alternator.
But then, I'm not an electrician,so this is what I'm theorizing, or deducing based on what i saw in Kevin's video. The use of those other apparatuses and their function is over my head. Plus, like the rest of you guys, i still have to try it first

What do you use to prevent overcharge or dissipation? I’d use a Stanley charge controller- maybe and utilize something for the power to run from battery and a smart system that will turn on generator with batter low. Safe no lighting bolts or battery bombs.

5:40 Here is a little info, very IMPORTANT. '' eli the ice man '' where E=volts L=inductor/coil i=amperage current. Volts, leads current, in a coil/inductor
    2. ' ice man '' where I=amperage current C=a capacitor (circuit) and E=volts Current, leads voltage, in a capacitor circuit. So, when he puts current, to those capacitors, the voltage follows. Remember this, it'll come in very handy , when thinking/designing '' stuff ''. Thanks, Mr. Kurt.....

I'm convinced that kinetic energy self running motors could light a home and charge devices and other low power electric items. Our lights are LED. You may just need the grid for power tools, cooking and TVs. You don't need much power for phones and laptops. Or radio (if people still use them?!)

Hi great video. Can you guide me on how to achieve this. The goal is to charge the battery like the other cars do and used the battery as the source of electricity to power something like a bulb, base radio and others. The idea is something like these... the alternator will charge the battery and the battery will power up the induction motor to make the alternator running. It's like an infinite loop. Do you think this is feasible? Thanks in advance.

  • @EducationPineapple

you can get a old school alternator with out a voltage reg...and take the out put DC and wire it back into the stator to self excite after a inital jump start from battery and tap into the 3 phase AC on the stator before it goes into the diode rectifiers..and with enough RPMs you will get 120 volts AC....

Can you add more alternators to the same drive belt to increase the charging capacity? Also, can you use a 12 volt motor for a drive motor in the charging circuit? If yes, do you have an estimated time before the battery would run down?

    • @MittyNuke1
      @MittyNuke1 2 года назад

You can add more alternators but will need a more powerful motor or engine to drive it. There is no such thing as free energy or perpetual motion. He is using the motor instead of an engine just for the sake of demo. It’s taking more power to power that electric motor than the alternator is producing. So adding a 12 volt motor attached to another alternator will do nothing except reduce you maxmimum power by the amount of inefficiency in the motor. To understand this, see if you can find some sort of human powered generator. If you have a DC brushed motor that will work. Spin the motor, then short out the +/- terminals and try to spin it by hand again. You will notice that it takes considerably more force to spin, and this applies to the alternator In this video as well. It’s kind of like trying to plug a power strip into itself 😅
