- Tired of the low output and unreliability of parts store alternators. These flex a lite dual fans on my tahoe draw so many amps, I can't run my A/C and drive at nite.. Won't keep the battery charged. Now I can recharge the AC.. and hopefully add a sound system.

Optima battery are no good these days. I have efans, sound system, and new ac system my stock alternator can not keep up so I will be going mechman also.

Get u the clear glass headlights from spyder and some led light bulbs and it makes a night and day difference….the glass ones won’t ever fade and them being clear makes the output lighting alot better ….people be flashing their lights at me at night thinking I have my high beams on until I show them they aren’t on and I hit them with my brights which they are leds too and bright as hell too….I’ve been running my led bulbs on my 96 for 3 years now and they haven’t went out yet

How you liking that mechman alt? Been thinking about going with a 320A Alt for my 2020 ram 1500. Seen there's other brands that are little cheaper but I'm firm on you get what you pay for and rather pay once for a good reliable Alt rather than cheaper one and it crap out on me
So far I love it! I do wish I had spent a little more and got one powder coated.. the bare aluminum does tend to get a little bad looking at times.. I have a powder coated.. black one going on my 2000 turbo silverado build.. it sure looks clean!
@Sketchy Rooster awesome yeah think I'm gonna go with the 320A for my 5th gen Ram. Know you got me thinking If I should get it powder coated lol. Long as it performs I'm good think Mr. Tony at mechman said the 320 would do over 200 at idle which is awesome for me. Did you go with 1/2 shorter belt or more than 1/2?
I haven't got the shorter belt yet.. I need to.. its right at the edge of the ok range... yeah the finish is just so it would look nicer..
@Sketchy Rooster cool think I'm about to order mine. My trucks white My go with a white powder coat. I seen the next size belt for mine is .53 inches shorter and the next one is .98 inches shorter. You think the .53 should be the one I need? Thanks alot
I'm not sure on belt length.. off top of my head that's what I would try though.. the .53..
200amp at idol.. most ho alts are much less some week down to 130ish at same ratings..
These should work with regular belt size in most trucks as the hairpin design doesn’t require much in terms of pulley size adjustment.
I never messed with changing it out.. its right on the edge of the good zone. Thing still doing great.

after install I kept getting a fault light. Mechman said its a ghost code. I think this is something that they should share before purchasing. I cant get an inspection with that code. And it caused a limp mode. switched back to stock. no problems. cost me over $100 bucks for an experiment that they knew would happen.
