It is true non-believers have no place in Christianity and in Islam as it is practiced but, it is not a condition at all to call oneself as a Hindu. For an individual, caste is more important than whether he worships any deities or not. It is absolutely true that this practice spills out in Christianity even among the so-called ardent believers. This was also spelled out well by the professor in his talk.

I am practical person, I make choices in live, some good decision making process made me for what I am. When a man thinks, he will know he is a alive.
I am Tamil, I don't want to talk about the ancient practice of Tamils but we are resilient people. Yes we are in proud of our history. We want to keep our identity & roots without it a man syncope.
People is the west particularly want to keep their identity. Look at the UK for example, Northern Irish are proud of their identity, The English are proud of their identity, Scots are indeed proud of their identity & the Welsh are proud of their Identity & language.

They(DMK members) will be very friendly with the brahmins & do business & even marry themselves to brahmins but always do NOT let the common people mix & get along with the brahmins.
Today's children are way beyond this chaste & division. They had married to show their liberal & forward thinking but sadly they had paid that price for this attitude with their lives. In their mind its better to die if human's are not treat as equals.
This people are all living in the past & cannot forget the injustice they had gone through. If people stop talking about brahmins, they will come forward with open arms, they are also humans with all the feelings.
Just move on like Kamal Hassan, who had simply lived his life, though, fate had also made a similar justice to him. God, will ultimately decide & dictate the life of every individual. Only in realisation, they will know & it is when that person will be spiritually ready for the next phase of their lives.
