@@tarini.padmanabhuni Thank you for your concern, I am doing well. People are not allowed to say the truth, it'll cost them their very existence. because you won't know if they're dead or alive. The issue isn't "who is the real villain?", it's "how many villains are there"?. from what we know and what we saw, ISIS is an international terrorist group produced by the USA. Our government hates us they want us dead, and the western media always treats us like numbers and paints us as non-educated camel riders who never opened a book. In Syria we always had internet and technology, it's just that the media always wants you to believe we are religious nut-jobs that want to blow you up in the name of god. We are banned from traveling to any country that offers a decent life. I am still a legal Syrian citizen, I pay around 300 euros to renew my Syrian passport every 2 years because I am wanted for military service. and you know the irony? I need a visa on my Syrian passport to travel to Syria haha I literally cannot travel anywhere. I'm an artist and my identity was never hidden, I'm not and never will be safe. In fact, the government tried to accuse me of being a double-agent smuggling weapons to Syria. The home country that I have never been to in 5 years. I'm very young I just turned 20 years old! The government is the one killing citizens, alongside ISIS and whatever new puppet they came up with. They are all on the same side. We Syrians are just a part of a BIG theater show and our role is just to die along with our dreams and ambitions. The Syrians are also to blame for this, they wanted to be ruled by none other than the almighty he. This is the consequence. Our society in itself is erratic, corrupted, and rotten. I had a pleasant childhood in Syria but I always felt exiled because I was different and held on to my beliefs and views.. that resulted in horrible and traumatizing experiences for me. I live abroad and I feel that I found my real home. But right here, I live the curse that I am a Syrian and will always be judged to be something I am completely not. I have been doing music since I was in Syria, I partook in a fight to make rock music legal because it was viewed negatively by the government. Despite all this, I won't hold any resentment or grudges in my heart. I hope for my home Syria a bright new tomorrow filled with love and smiles
Phoenix Spirit don't hate the country but hate the government. most lebanese people dislike the Syrian government for what they did to Lebanon during the war in Lebanon and the war of the camps. The Syrian occupation of Lebanon didn't end until 2005.

In 2005 (when I was 4), I visited Syria to meet my Iraqi relatives. During that time, Iraq was going through the most and I was not allowed in there because of my father's dumb politics (and the conflict ofc) so my relatives had to go over to Damascus and I had to travel from Sweden. Anyways, there I met some of my relatives for the first and also the last time. I thank Syria for allowing us to meet each other, I remember Damascus being so beautiful and lively. I was amazed at the fact that every child had looked just like me, or not, but after being surrounded only by Swedes this was a really cool thing to me. The locals there were so kind to us, and the moment they heard we were Iraqi they would become even kinder. It's as if they were grieving with us. It is sad that only 6 years later, everything would turn upside down for them and Iraq that used to be the most dangerous country on Earth in the 2000s, suddenly became more peaceful than Syria. 4 years later after 2011, when the migrant-crisis in Europe occured, I would suddenly see Syrian refugees lined up in train stations, streets etc and each time I would think back to the time that Syria had hosted me and my family for a few weeks when I was 4, and now it's my home country's turn to host them. Not so long afterwards, my mother had to divorce and seek asylum for private reasons so she was placed temporarily in a refugee 'camp' in a very beautiful region. Me and my brother would visit the place and have sleepovers, and these were some of the best days of my life. There we would have breakfasts together with Syrians, go out and play football with the children and the teens of the camp and later have gatherings where they would share stories from their past lives. Tears would spill from them and my heart would break each time. I would often feel guilty and the enormous privilege that I had compared to them. The younger ones of the camp would be amazed at the fact that me and brother were born in Sweden and could speak Swedish so well. We quickly became popular in the camp as the Iraqi Arab kids who were too Swedish to be Arab and hadn't experienced shit lol. Last year, at the age of 18, I got a volunteer job at Red Cross and worked with refugee kids mostly from Syria, and there again they would be amazed about the fact that I was born and raised here and couldn't believe that I could speak both Arabic and Swedish so well. But due to that, they were able to feel a bit more comfortable about me being an Arab since the other leaders were Swedish, and they tended to share stories to me about their lives in Syria and how they arrived here. One thing that broke my heart to another level, again, was when we decided to do an activity with the kids and their parents. We had asked them to draw a picture of anything positive and then have them tell the story of that picture. One parent had decided to draw a picture of his old village beside a river back in Syria, and he started to talk about his happy times there. But even though he was talking only about the positive things, the sadness in his eyes was so visible that you would think he would cry at any second but he somehow managed to keep his tears back. For him, he was only glad that his daughter was alive and well in front of him. Both were so nice and were also very creative too to the point you would think they were artists! You could truly see that his daughter was his WORLD. During the last day of my volunteer job, even though we weren't allowed to accept gifts, they had bought us all flowers. I didn't understand at first that these flowers came from them and never had the time to thank them which I regret so much today. My heart goes out to all of you Syrians. I hope there will be a day where we both see peace in Iraq and Syria. Syrians and Iraqis tend to share a very special bond with each other and we are all brothers and sisters. I'm sorry for writing this very lengthy text that no one is gonna read nor care about, I just have a very soft spot for Syrians.
I had mixed feelings while reading your story. It is beautiful. honestly, I've never been in a situation where I witness war going around me and the damage it takes in person (obviously just news and articles) but somehow can relate to certain degree like how you have soft spot for Syrians. Back when I was a kid I'm always curious about my ancestors lineage and found out that I have Egyptian and Chinese blood in my veins even though I'm an Indonesian. Still, I've never had a chance to meet either Egyptian or Chinese long-relatives so It was really nice to know you had a chance to meet your Iraqi relatives. I'm sure things will get better from now on. Stay positive and have a nice day! Best regard, just a random 19-years-old girl passing by

My last visit to Syria as a tourist was back in 2010.. it was amazing. This video is so heartbreaking to watch and compare it with all my beautiful memories in this country. God bless Syria 😞💔 Greetings from Kuwait🇰🇼
when the war started, or when i realized we're in a war , i was a kid, was normally saying goodbye to my family, taking my sandwiches and getting on the bus, my school was in babbila , near qazzas [ in damascus] while in the middle of the road, we suddenly start hearing bombings, the driver changes the road we start hear screamings: " They bombed the school! , They bombed the school ! " i was in shock , then i realized 2 of my friends were already there when we got back, i ran to my house after a long road of gunshots and bombings then we started seeing protests, we noticed terrorists hiding between protests, wearing black masks with guns it turned bloody so fast things began to change fast suddenly on eid we see armed people , not wearing uniforms or something we were scared , our windows were already down we start hearing screaming, Allahu Akbar! , Allahu akbar! then we peek out , we find 4 people with a black flag and black uniforms carrying a body we started running out of food our building was almost down we couldn't escape, we were not even able to recognize who are the armed people and every day they change, it was so scary 3 weeks later the Syrian Arab army rushed in , we found an opportunity to escape they took us and we were running from a street to street while getting shot by snipers you could not even see the sky because of the bombings and its tails untill we arrive to allied soldiers we slept a night in their house then at the morning they took us with a car to a close area, thankfully we had a house there and since then we still live there we changed school, we were still having so much questions like why are they screaming Allahu Akbar i was a kid i didn't understand i thought they were calling us to pray or something not having a single idea they would use this word for their violence and they will make it a scary word instead of it being a peaceful calling for prayer as usual after then a lot of things happened the terrorists almost reached us in the other area but they couldn't , and since then its under the Syrian Arab army control , we couldn't get to the roof of the buildings, we will get arrested for suspicious spying... they had PKS's and snipers on all the roofs we see helicopters i turned from a kid that gets amazed when looking at the guns and interested to a kid that it became something normal you wake up on a bomb sound, you don't even care anymore you see tanks you see helicopters now our previous house is completely destroyed, on the ground, as well as the whole area the protests were never peaceful, terrorists abused it and turned it into a bloody war and god knows who gave them guns , note that it was mostly american guns , few of them had ak47's the guns were not syrian they were not belonging to the syrian arab army . may allah burn them in hell for what they did.. too much shit that even a movie cant describe, i wish i filmed it or someone did because you will never be able to understand it or imagine it may all the martyrs rest in peace...
I really can't imagine the situation u r going through... It's so worst and even Indian movies are made in which they escape but no one ever dare to show that nasty place ...The movie was "Airlidt6"
This is so heart breaking. I can't imagine what it is like to go through, that fear, that pain, that feeling of loss.... May the Lord give us strength to overcome this mentality of violence. The stories of Syria has always given me shivers in my spine. I can't forget those disturbing images of terrorists beheading innocent children.... I can't...
My brother I sit here in Canada having moved in 2002 yearning to come back your story brings me to tears I'm from Damascus too and my fondest memories are still there I was so hopeful for the protests and we were going to parliament herr in Ottawa 2011 protesting for our government to do something praying for the best outcome always. Something tells me there was an interest in making the protests violent to have a reason to shoot into the crowd and contain the whole movement. I wish I could have done more and I pray insha'Allah to see my home again soon may Allah increase your patience and bring peace to Syria ya rabb stay strong 💔

The generation who went through this 9 years of war has gone through the most and yet other countries disrespect us and make us live in camps over the street. And what you heard when you were at the citadel was bombs before Aleppo was completely between our hands, we stayed at home for 3 months because of these bombs and we managed to pass the finals. GOD BLESS ALL THE SYRIANS WHO SUFFERED AND MADE IT THROUGH♥️

Always when I meet new people they think I am from south Europe, but when I tell them I am from Syria they think we are savages, we don’t have manners, we live in tents and we are where we are because we want to be there. This make my heart so heavy that people prejudice without knowing anything. 💔 I hope we could go back home someday.
@Yankee Gohome May allah protect you all . I really wanna go to syria and serve as a medical aid for sometime . Fascist goverment can never be justified. May allah protect you guys.
Nauman Khan The problem was we wanted more freedom, but the government killed people so we had oppositions. In the beginning the opposition was very good, but after that it became very extremely islamic, and they used to kill people in God’s name, take their wives and daughters. You can look for it on RUclips or news, see how they kill people. I was living in Aleppo in 2013 until those terrorists overed my city and damaged everything. I have chosen to go away than being killed by those groups or being forced to fight with them. Because 2013 70% of Syria was controlled by them. Even in 2018 they attacked my city Afrin and killed so many Kurdish people because they said they don’t believe in Islam. My grandma had to leave her house and go somewhere else. She’s now 75 years and lives in a refugee camp close to Jordan. So some people are still asking about religions and suni and Shiaa, like the one replied to your comment. This why the war never gonna stop.

Everytime I see those abandoned buildings and streets I think about how all the children used to play there and how happy they used to be....all taken away by people who do not know the value of life.I can only imagine how hard it must've been for them to leave their hometown.I hope all those people find the strength to move on and live a happy life wherever they are right now.

@@kinchydink I don't think it's what you think it is. The war started between the Free Syrian Army and the government, and was mostly about control. Democracy or dictatorship. In the end, the dictator won, but that fight was never much about ethnicity. Other factions turned up in the power vacuum, and had other ideologies. Of course ISIS is a big one that did many terrible things, including genocide, but never expanded into the areas that Jacob visited. Ideologies can be deadly, but Syria isn't an example of a war about jealousy, and the genocide that did occur was more a result of the power vacuum rather than any kind of instigating event. And there was certainly nothing about what happened in Syria that could be considered one-sided.

@@faisuobld6726 well, the people wanted to change their president; they started an unarmed revolution; immediately external counties as USA, Turkey,Saudi Arabia and Qatar were ready to fund rebellions from different groups with money and weapons, some rebellions were extremists who came from all over, so every group is funded from different country; the rebellions have been controlling 85% of the land, but then they started to divide into groups cuz of interest in power & control, different ideologies, some knew the fact that the revolution is controlled from outside & is heading different targets from fighting the Syrian regime so they wanted a honorable revolution just to defeat the regime without accepting foreign agendas, so when Russia got involved they took back many lands from the rebellions, and countries as the US, Saudia, Turkey.. didn’t care about the revolution actually or democracy but they had many interests and they got what they wanted: the US is controlling the oil in east north Syria with the Saudis, Turkey is controlling north west and northern Syrian -Turkish borders & started to make a demographic change for it’s benifit (USA also replacing the local Arabs in east north with Kurds for it’s benefit of course) let’s say the Syrian regime is bad but they have their right not to let the revolution happen cuz it was an outside plan to destroy Syria & share the cake ( Syria is very rich with Gas& Oil, a big cost and in an important location as well.

Thank you for your concern, I am doing well.

Syria rise again you can do it
In 2005 (when I was 4), I visited Syria to meet my Iraqi relatives.

As a Syrian man who Expatriate from my home like 4 years ago...
I would thank you for bringing me back for 20m to my precious country
Thanks form my heart really ❤
My last visit to Syria as a tourist was back in 2010.. it was amazing. This video is so heartbreaking to watch and compare it with all my beautiful memories in this country. God bless Syria 😞💔 Greetings from Kuwait🇰🇼
You made a great video. It brought back so many memories. I used to eat at the Safir hotel in Maaloula.
when the war started, or when i realized we're in a war , i was a kid, was normally saying goodbye to my family, taking my sandwiches and getting on the bus, my school was in babbila , near qazzas [ in damascus]
while in the middle of the road, we suddenly start hearing bombings, the driver changes the road
we start hear screamings: " They bombed the school! , They bombed the school ! "
i was in shock , then i realized 2 of my friends were already there
when we got back, i ran to my house after a long road of gunshots and bombings
then we started seeing protests, we noticed terrorists hiding between protests, wearing black masks with guns
it turned bloody so fast
things began to change fast
suddenly on eid we see armed people , not wearing uniforms or something we were scared , our windows were already down
we start hearing screaming, Allahu Akbar! , Allahu akbar! then we peek out , we find 4 people with a black flag and black uniforms carrying a body
we started running out of food
our building was almost down
we couldn't escape, we were not even able to recognize who are the armed people
and every day they change, it was so scary
3 weeks later the Syrian Arab army rushed in , we found an opportunity to escape
they took us and we were running from a street to street while getting shot by snipers
you could not even see the sky because of the bombings and its tails
untill we arrive to allied soldiers
we slept a night in their house then at the morning they took us with a car to a close area, thankfully we had a house there and since then we still live there
we changed school, we were still having so much questions
like why are they screaming Allahu Akbar
i was a kid i didn't understand i thought they were calling us to pray or something
not having a single idea they would use this word for their violence and they will make it a scary word instead of it being a peaceful calling for prayer as usual
after then a lot of things happened
the terrorists almost reached us in the other area
but they couldn't , and since then its under the Syrian Arab army control , we couldn't get to the roof of the buildings, we will get arrested for suspicious spying...
they had PKS's and snipers on all the roofs
we see helicopters
i turned from a kid that gets amazed when looking at the guns and interested
to a kid that it became something normal
you wake up on a bomb sound, you don't even care anymore
you see tanks you see helicopters
now our previous house is completely destroyed, on the ground, as well as the whole area
the protests were never peaceful, terrorists abused it and turned it into a bloody war and god knows who gave them guns , note that it was mostly american guns , few of them had ak47's
the guns were not syrian they were not belonging to the syrian arab army . may allah burn them in hell for what they did..
too much shit that even a movie cant describe, i wish i filmed it
or someone did
because you will never be able to understand it or imagine it
may all the martyrs rest in peace...
I cant imagine the pain you are going through.
I can't...
U people will have high place in Jannah Insha'Allah...I can't do anything for syrian except dua...u people r always in my dua...
This got tears in my eyes The cities looked so dull & lifeless
Syrians are so so so hopeful!!
I pray for Syria & Syrians

I'm actually a young Syrian girl who experienced war when i was 6 years old, i remember how our parents used to take us to malls and parks and then one time out of the blue, everything broke apart, when i was in middle school a bomb rocked our school and killed 3 high-school students and injured 9.

As I am Syrian refugee who had to leave his country in 2013 because of war, I lived in Turkey and now in The Netherlands.

Syrian war is One of them!
I hate the word "war"... It's clearly one sided genocide to ruin what once was doing well. Pure jealousy

@@faisuobld6726 the rebels it all started because of them.
Feeling shame on other countries poor Syrian people have no influence in this .I think russia helped Syria
I cried in this video. People are positive and the smile make me cry.
Wish for the peace of the world and more love, stay positive Syrian.🙏
I know I would get emotional when I watch this video. Every time I saw a smiling face in the video, I just started sobbing because even in those situations, people still have hope and move on with their life. It made me think about my parents and grandparents who survived through the war, and how privilege I am to live a peaceful country.
Binh Hoang , God bless your heart
It was such a beautiful, rich, prosperous, intellectual country. I feel so sad watching this, It's so heartbreaking. but kudos to people there smiling, not losing hope thats heartwarming, love to see that.
Dear Syrians
You all are synonyms of strength & courage. The smile on your face speaks volumes of your strength & determination. Sky is your limit & depth of ocean is your grit. Fight to rebuild your ever beautiful nation. We in India call our nation as our mother, syria for you is your mother, wipe her tears, hug her tight to tell her that world loves her. You fought a lot & your courage will be spoken about forever. We will never say "once upon a time there was a land called Syria, instead we will say, once upon a time the mighty syrians were challenged & they defended their motherland & rebuilt it again, those were the mighty syrians" we will remember you, history will have your name, generations will know you.....once upon a time the mighty syrians were challenged & they wrote history. Come on! World awaits for you, build your nation, show us your smiles, wipe those tears for the mankind loves you.
You are a beautiful person for writing this.

Lol chutiya, it's all because of Islam. Just see what Islam has done to Syria.
@@Nigoto_Saituri Lol chutiya², you have no idea that Islamic Radicals were not the only factor for the Syrian war
And europeans who survived the massacre and brutality of ww2 are all just white privileged people right?
In 2010 Syria was one of the beautifully country’s in the world
america and israel destroyed it, as they did to Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, and Egypt.
i hope Syria will find peace, support from Lithuania
