Victoria thanks you for criticizing this man. I'm terrified of this channel and I think one of these hamsters is a male and the other is a female and it will end up with hamster babies and it seems to me that the creator intends to attract people by making the hamster give birth and get more views. It's really awful
The worst thing is that this arrogant person is constantly talking like he knows what he's talking about, he's totally fooling kids to think that this is okay.
@@VictoriaRaechel And if this friend who left the hamster for overexposure is a bad owner? I think it could also be explained that a hamster named Adolf arrived on the Slivki channel of the show in a cardboard box, and not in a cage and not even in a carrier
I've been avoiding that channel like the plague. I keep getting asked about it because of my experience with soil enclosures and it just took one look at their original set up for it to be so obvious that they're doing it to farm views. Even though soil set ups are still very uncommon (as they should be, I love them but they're a huge pain in the butt to maintain correctly😂) there is at least enough information available now that they have no excuses for doing it so so badly, and no excuses for the tiny size or lack or enrichment. Honestly, it reminds me so much of that channel with the underwater hamster cage and the roborovski. I don't know if that guy is still around but both channels have the same "do anything for the views" vibe, and the scariest part is their presentation. They intentionally film, edit and script their videos in such a way to make it appear as though they are educated and knowledgable on the subjects they speak about, it's so manipulative. That unjustified confidence is enough to lure any casual viewer, new owner or kid into trusting everything they say regardless of if it's true or harmful. Love seeing these channels undermining the hamster community's hard work all for the sake of easy money 🤪😒
Omg this unlocked a memory I have tried to forget, the guy who had the underwear hamster enclosure made me sick. Can't remember the channels name, but I think it was basically about doing unnecessary and cruel experiments with hamsters, like putting one in a drone and flying it.
Yeah same.. like i watched one video and even i, someone who has absolutely no idea of how to treat a hamster, thought that this can't be a healthy living situation for a hamster.
You’re absolutely right, the channel expresses having zero knowledge about hamsters, but if he was to reengineer the idea with knowledge backing up his creative process then maybe he can win this idea. But he’s making a random enclosure and just throwing a hamster inside. Idk it kind of a seems like he’s only obsessed with the idea of playing God.
When I was a kid I bought two dwarf hamsters from a pet shop because they actually RECOMMENDED that two be bought together because they didn’t like to be alone. Needless to say they literally chewed each other to pieces within about 2 weeks. 2 unfortunate little hammies and a very traumatised child. I still feel guilty.
I remember this too, i got two syrians :(( … I understand that it’s still the owner’s responsibility in the end, but when I was a child I thought that I could trust people working on pet shops. As i grew older the realization just gets worse :’/
The way this man chose to not only abuse his animal but also, record it, edit it, voice it over, and post it is actually crazy. Thank you for bringing awareness to this.
I just adopted a hamster a few hours ago, and it’s been such a long journey to get to this point. It’s been in the making for almost a year, after I realized my past hamster didn’t have good care. My hamster, Merlo (I might rename depends on her personality) is going to be living her best life, and it’s all thanks to you and your channel. Me and all the hamsters I will own in the future are so glad you have this channel! Also- almost every rescue I had looked at to adopt a hamster recommended me your channel (after I’d found it), so that’s cool.
Every time I tell someone I have a pet hamster, people are like "Oh, yeah, I used to have one as I kid, but then [so and so] happened" and it's always a tragic story. Poor hamsters deserved so much better! Even in my house, I forbid people to touch or feed Bunny (that's her name, haha! She's an albino hamster and has red eyes) when I'm not around because I just don't trust anyone to know how to take care of a hamster if they haven't done A LOT of research. My mom has more than once suggested that I put Bunny in the yard to walk on the grass. And there's falcons and owls that live nearby!! I stg, people just aren't sensible.
I wish people would take even such small animals more seriously. It's still a living and breathing being. No toy! I don't know if the small price for these critters makes them think - if it's dead, i buy a new one? (I bought my very first hamster for 5€ ... still not sure how to feel about that) Anyway, thank you so much talking about proper hamster care and draw attention to such awful cases like poor stefan and how to do better!
Unfortunately that happens a lot :( Especially parents who aren't ready to have the "death" talk and will quickly replace their child's pet hamster before they notice.
I remember wanting rabbits when I was a kid and being annoyed with my mom for making me read books about them and go build them a house etc. Looking back, I wouldve failed my rabbits if it wherent for my mom kicking me in the butt and making me learn.
I don't have much experience with hamsters in this regard, but I *do* have experience with bettas & it's eerily similar how people treat these two animals. They stick 10 of them in a jar & think that's okay because "I saw a cool picture on Instagram :)" & then get sooo mad when it's pointed out that it's animal abuse. People hate admitting small animals are animals & not inanimate objects for some reason, man. I think they just want a pet but don't want to do the work involved, but also don't want to feel guilty about killing an animal slowly so they pretend it's basically a pet rock :/
Hi Victoria. Recently my first ever hamster died. I've been watching ur videos for 3 years and because of you my hamster had a very good life. I really appreciate you posting videos and teaching new hamster owners. Loosing a pet is hard ❤
Experimening on animals can be useful when we are experts and do not know something about the species. Experimenting on them, when there are plenty of data about their needs and behaviour, just to see if they act otherwise is pure torture.
"this hamster is sitting next to another hamster so they is prolly friends. oh. now they're fighting and i'm just gonna sit and watch and hope they keep fighting. Aw, man. they stopped. I mean, **ahem** yay. they stopped fighting so they're best friends now."
I loathe this channel with every fiber of my being. Thank you so much for bringing awareness to this. Thanks to you, I've actually given my hamster a much bigger, better cage. I had the biggest one from the pet store for some time, but it didn't meet the needed requirements. I used your DIY enclosure setup to make his, and now he has a sandbath, 10 inches of bedding, a 12 inch wheel, you name it, and he's so happy! Thank you for all you do.
Confession: the channel with Stefan the hamster was my first exposure to hamster content on RUclips. Fortunately I ended up here and now I know better.
Hello! I just wanted to thank you for all that you have done for my hamster. Without you, he would be living in a tiny pet store cage with 1-2 inches of bedding. Now, he lives in a giant 40 gallon breeder aquarium with 8 inches of bedding! You have really helped!
Not to mention sometimes you'll put hamsters together and they won't fight for days, weeks, months but then you come home to a murder scene one day. It happened to me 25 years ago when I was 7 and my parents had no idea about proper care because all we had to go off of was advice from the pet shop we got them at and they knew they'd be together - they sold us the "right" critter trail for two hamsters even! I'm still haunted by the gruesome way my hamster was murdered...
“The other hamster runs up to Stephen in an unusual way, and now as we can see here the other hamster is now lying on the floor unconscious. Oh look he got up now they are bffs!”
I haven't watched Victoria's videos in a few years, but I just want to say how much I've always loved her channel. I recently found out I have Autism, and hamsters were definitely one of my first special interests, and this channel was basically the only thing I watched. I was 9 then, I'm 13 now, I pretty much grew up with hamster videos like this. Thanks, Tori.
I am so horrified ! I can’t imagine that some people have the idea to perform such experiments just for the buzz. It’s so sad for their hamsters. THANK YOU for you awareness. I hope this kind of things will happen less and less.
I thought that “Stefan” looked a bit overweight, but then it occurred to me that “he” very well could be pregnant, and “him” actually being a StefanIE may be true and she’s actually a girl hamster who is pregnant. That REALLY shows how little this guy knows about hamsters.
If you want two rodents in a hamster enclosure, do not get hamsters, get gerbils. Gerbil enclosure requirements are pretty similar to hamsters, so you can move on to gerbils without changing up the whole hamster setup. Gerbils are social and although they're also not always like their roommates (in which case you should separate them), they're very likely to get to like each other and actually benefit from the presence of a friend.
I didn’t want to. My hammy had babies and I waited till the deadline before separating the males, and 2 females. It took me awhile before finding someone to adopt the female. Then, the 2 girls have already been together for weeks. The first week I gave the one female off, the one I was keeping started to sleep all day long. I received a text from the other, saying that the other was acting weird too, sleeping all day and suddenly becoming aggressive. She got returned and I placed them back to the same cage. To my surprise, they both sniffed each other and immediately started to help groom each other. It has been 6 months now, I still find them sleeping with each other and being with each other in a hideout despite the fact that I put 7 hideouts. I also find them sleeping in the same burrow a lot. Still, I make sure to put a camera inside and observe them. Though, I find they follow each other a lot. In the future though, I will avoid keeping 2 hamsters together that they bonded.
I got into an argument with someone who loaded a compilation of funny hamster videos. One was of a poor hamster swimming around in a bath. The comments were saying how sweet and funny. Had to report it several times and face a backlash from others...saying its fine, calm down or are u a vegan teacher??? People that abuse or mistreat hamsters disgust me. Just watched the rest of this video. That little hamster is the double of my Louie. He is the most gentle soul. I can watch anymore of this. Keep up the good fight. All responsible hamster parents are behind you. X
Those videos definitely always suck, and the responses you'll get are almost worse 😅 The amount of people who think you're overeacting when you know something is wrong just sucks.
I used your tips when I got my first 2 hamsters only a year ago. I was going to do this naturalistic setup when I found that guy's channel, but decided to follow your setup instead. So glad I did poor Stefan
I want to say thank you! I have been planning on getting a hamster for a couple months now, and at first, I thought that if I put it in a 10-gallon cage it would have plenty of room. NO, I was absolutely wrong, and I'm so glad that I found your channel to finish my research. For all my life I just figured that since its a small animal it gets a small cage. But I'm so glad that I found your channel to give my future hamster the best life that it can have!
I'm mad that I wasted time trying to give this person advice after seeing the first video, only for him to completely ignore every person who commented criticizing his enclosure. And he somehow made it worse!! A naturalistic enclosure isn't a bad idea, but the execution was pretty bad for someone who claims to have done research on hamsters prior to building it. And then let a 2nd hamster into that tiny space too... Poor little Stefan and Adolf deserve to be with owners who care more about their safety and well being
I haven’t commented in a little while and I appreciate you calling out this guy. Also, my current hamster, Pepper, is nearing the end of his life and because of you helping me give him proper care, I feel good in knowing that when he eventually passes, he’ll have lived a good life. My past two hamsters didn’t have the best care due to my lack of knowledge and I felt super guilty about their deaths. But I feel confident that I have done everything to give my little guy Pepper the best life possible
my friend had 2 hamsters in separate tanks that sat next to each other. her hamsters would throw them selves at the glass wall to get to each other to fight. that really just shows how aggressive they can get. edit: yes she moved the tanks immediately
Well obviously they'll be aggressive towards each other if their both males with how territorial they are. But if you tame the hamster and provide the right conditions have 2 tanks next to each other is a common way to introduce animals to each other in the breading world of small animals
Thank you for calling this out! From a friend of mine who is a vet, he is fed up to his back teeth of treating hamsters who have lived in a "natural" or "bio" habitat - which are not suitable for hamsters at all. My friend has treated hamsters from people trying out this "silly trend" (his words not mine) for respiratory issues, skin problems, colon impaction, and even removed sand/soil from their pouches so they can breathe (because it dries out and gets stuck over time in the hamster's pouch, causing infection.)
I couldn't even watch all this, sorry Victoria. I don't know how you managed. The tank, the wheel, then the cat 🤢, putting them in together. I couldn't get any further 😭
6:06 big agree, hamster bites are no joke, and they can be an issue even with well socialized hamsters! one time i was trying to examine my late syrian Pine because he looked a little off, but he was extremely skittish (probably because of the issue that i had noticed and wanted to examine him for). because i was concerned about his health, i kept trying to pick him up and look him over when i should have left him alone, and he got spooked and gave me two nasty bites on my hand. i immediately went to wash them off and take care of them, but one of them was bleeding so fast it was dripping blood and i had to keep pressure on it to stop it. biting is their last resort defense mechanism, and god damn if it doesn't work! tl;dr, i can vouch for hamster bites definitely being something you should take seriously lol
I had a nervous hamster and he bit my thumb REAL BAD to the point where there was so much blood coming out I felt dizzy… likely shock, but was still painful and left a scar on my thumb for several months.
I got bit pretty badly once by one of my chineseys, but it was my fault really. We had multiple hammies at the time, different genders, and I had just been handling one and didn't wash my hands or wait a bit between trying to interact with another. I tried to move something away from behind her and she must have caught the smell and got surprised thinking it was another hamster. She chomped down hard on my pointer finger and got stuck. I tried not to move my hand suddenly but I had to pry her mouth open slightly to remove her as she was hanging off my finger - I don't even think she knew what happened. She sat down and sniffed my blood drops and just seemed weirded out by it. The bite almost pierced all the way through. It healed fast though and this little one must have felt bad because she was so sweet with me after, like she was sorry somehow. Other than that mistake I've never been bit and I've cared for fourteen Chinese hammies over the last ten years.
Aw, thank you for putting my comment on screen! I'm now thinking he knows exactly what the hamsters are doing and intends to breed them. He's telling a story on RUclips that has nothing to do with reality, otherwise he wouldn't have cut the actual mating scene just before Adolf collapsed. Here's hoping he doesn't actually leave them together.
It is definitely a fact that cats and doggos can be friends! If you want to have multiple pets, getting a cat and a dog is a good option and with the right introduction they CAN get along and become great friends! My kitten Lyra absolutely LOVES my beagles, they cuddle together all the time and they look like triplets! The dogs love being with my cats too. They’ll give the kitties kisses, cuddle up with them, and even play with them!
Oh my gosh has anyone noticed Victoria’s nose piercing, it’s so pretty. Thank you for reacting to this and I hope one day they learn the real care. ❤❤❤
I once rescued a pair of hamsters from an unkind home, I don't know if hamsters can bond with trauma but when I first got them they would become very distressed when I tried to separate them. They wouldn't leave each others side, they were happy to be held if together but bit to all hell if alone, and my heart broke with the sounds they made. I let them stay together until they fully settled into their new home and separated them once they were less attached. After that I kept their homes close to each other and for a long time they seemed to talk to each other and try to be as close as possible within their separate homes. The home I rescued them from is so lucky they formed this strange bond, because from their chipped and pierced ears and scars it was clear they had fought a lot when they were young.
Hey! I just wanted to thank you for your channel my hamster passed away not to long ago and I followed your channel since before I even got her and I continue to watch it now so thank you
I have reptiles, bringing stuff in from outside always runs the risk of parasites, or pestisides. I Found this video a while back and there were so many things about it that bothered me.
This man literally posted a video about the death of his first hamster and he included footage of finding his lifeless body and showed it on camera. It was incredibly disturbing and traumatizing
This was a very sad video to watch… I was almost at tears the whole time…. This poor hamster did NOT deserve this! 😢 Love you Tori! This needed to be said! ❤
I was actually thinking about this the other day, not even talking about the problematic substrate but it's just way too small! Sucks that this person has so many viewers, including children
My hamster hammy died a few months ago but I got her because I was so inspired by ur channel and now I'm sure she's eating a ton of sunflower seeds in heaven ❤️
Victoria, you are totally right. TWICE I housed about 2 dwarf hamsters together. Until my syrian got into their enclosure and chewed one of their heads off, it was all fine. After that my roborovski dwarf attacked my jungarian. I have no idea why has them together. I thought that everybody at Petco was knowledgeable. But now my syrian and one of my dwarfs are living in septate enclosures big enough. And I'm so happy to see them thriving and surviving. (The Syrian dwarves were never housed together.)
I’m not sure if this man has any common sense or respect for these animals. Honestly, I am so grateful that you are criticizing these types of people. You don’t see a lot of people like you advertising proper hamster care and information. You mostly see people on the internet who are abusing these animals for views and money. As a very big hamster lover, I love your videos and I do try to spread them to people I see that are not engaging in proper care for their hamsters. In fact, you changed one of my friends hamsters life, because my friend got information from your videos.Thank you Victoria, and please never stop doing what your doing because you really are changing animals lives, and peoples mindsets!!!❤️❤❤
Hello, haven’t been commenting lately but my hamster bear is doing absolutely amazing! He loves to chew on his little toys and hiding his food. I got some reptile sand and he loves to bathe in it, thank you so much for guiding all of us in the right path ❤❤❤🎉
I was hoping you would react to this, I got it in my recommendation and I got too frustrated to finish the video. Your reaction pretty much summed up mine. Now there are 2 possible outcomes for those hamsters, either one is a female and will give birth or they will get into a much bigger fight at some point. 😖 Not even gonna mention that the setup still sucks. I also hate how he did research before he decided to introduce them, saw that hamsters are solitary and was like, "Oh, well, lemme introduce these guys just because I can." Just ugh. 💀
I recently bought a hamster with my mom and the hamster was really aggressive. I watched a lot of videos of yours and now the hamster is so peaceful and it really loves to sleep. I made sure not to play with her too much and gave her healthy food.☺
That video made me so anxious. The cat is bad enough, but I've seen what having two hamsters together can end up like. When I was a kid, we had two dwarf hamsters. I didn't know any better at the time, so they were in the same cage. I think we had them for a month or so before one killed the other. Really traumatizing for a kid.
My sister and I kept our sibling dwarf hamsters together in a large enclosure for the first couple months of their lives. I'd say at 3 months old they decided they had enough. These were babies that cuddled together constantly prior. Thankfully it wasn't a fight or explosion, we just noticed the one starting to hoard the food and not let the other close to the stash or dishes. We separated them that night. Glad we did too because they were sexed wrong and we did have a boy and girl. But we didn't want to risk that fight and that bit gave us time to build 2 permanent enclosures. This video gave me so much anxiety though. My boy will bite me if he even so much as smells another male hamster on me. And it hurts.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! When I got my hamster i didnt get that good supplies but thankfully i saw your videos and upgraded to a big good cage! THANKS VICTORIA also ur very pretty
Are natural enclosures ok for hamsters? I always thought the dirt and stuff would get in their eyes but I use a sand bath. I use the regular hamster bedding and sometimes my hamster (ab 8months) gets like this sticky stuff in her eyes and I take it out with a cotton swab, this normal/should I keep getting it out or am I doing more harm then good?
Hello Victoria! I want to start by telling you that I absolutely love your video and if my hamster can have this amazing life it's because of you and your video you help me to give him the life that he can dream of and improve the way that I am taking care of him. I also have a suggestion for a video in the future who, I think, would help me and a lot other person which is to do a video on the herbs and their effects on hamster. For example, in your last video you said that thym has a effect on the respiratory system of the hamster. I hope you will think of it! Thank you!
Thanks for highlighting the issues with this channel, I'm going to go and report it. Exploiting animals and treating them irresponsibly for entertainment is disgusting. I rescued a Syrian hamster from a pet shop that had been left in a cage with another so I've seen first hand the damage they can do. His back was covered in deep gashes and wounds, and he would scream in fear anytime you went near him. It was amazing that he survived and eventually became a tame, happy pet. He was covered in scars for the rest of his life though.
Hi Victoria Raechel. Oof, some people don’t provide the proper care for hamsters 🐹 over the years proper hamster care has improved a bit but still most people provide poor care. We just have to keep ourselves to give our hamsters proper care. I love your vids thank you 😊 🐹 just saw you got to 600k, congrats 🥳
For gerbils it would have definitely been a fighting arena and they ARE social! Gerbils be like "come at me bro!" 😂 Seriously tho hamsters are solitary!!! Even if they mate they don't hang around after that 😬
I can vouch for the whole hamster biting hard thing. I was tryna get my dwarf hamster to climb on my hand so I could mover her from her smaller cage to her upgraded 40 gallon enclosure I was transferring her to and she created a few puncture wounds in my finger and she did NOT let go 😭
Can you check out, something animals natural aqarium its not the more cleanish but it is very great with more enrinchment I have ever seen and there is a follow up vid on their hamster Nitrogen checking out their new cage.
yeeeeeeah I wanna throw up while watching this ;-; "oh they stopped fighting now they must be friends!" but on a side note thank you I've only had my hamster for a week because my sister gave her to me out of the blue and your channel has helped me a lot like she came in a tiny cage like 130 and that same day I ran to Walmart can got the biggest bin I could and use your videos to build one but it's only like 350 and I'm buying a 1.2k+ square inches soon plus she had a 6-inch mesh wheel and the best I could do on short notice was a plastic 8.5 so I'm ordering a 12.5 wooden one after I get my paycheck your channel has helped me a lot this past week! Cookie my Panda Syrian is showing less and less stress signs so thank you!
hey Victoria, you’ve probably heard of me before I am the owner of Mars my hamster and last time I talk to you I said that my hamster was lost and I could not find him and I was scared he was dead. I ended up finding him and then I spoiled him with new hives new herbs and many other things. My hamster still has mild fleas and I plan on taking him to the vet very soon, I am just saving up money so I will have enough to pay for the bill. Thank you so much for posting at least once every week. He’s taught me so much and now I’m a great hamster owner and trying to get better at the things I am not the best at. thank you so much Victoria! Have a great week month and year, bye!! 💗
Maybe there's some sort of payment plan or could borrow from someone payback for later or part fund online save some money for future and future shouldn'f wait if find out pet is ill/unwell in is any way
I was going to grow cat gross in coco fiber for in my hamster enclosure, but I was just going to put it in a bowl I could remove or use it for the play pen not the main cage... I have a major interest in a natural enclosure, but was more worried about mites than fungus
I learned about hamsters being solitary the hard way. Many years ago I bought a hamster from the pet store and she ended up having six babies. I kept all of them, separated the boys and girls, and they never fought or hurt one another as far as I am aware. I thought it was normal and not that I was lucky. Fast forward many years something similar happens- I kept two boys, one girl, and the mother. My last pair of brothers were super close from what I saw, and I thought the same thing for these two new ones...Well, I came home one day and they had off'd one another. I was shocked because I had never had something happen like this before. It was a pretty eye-opening experience for a younger me. I haven't put any hamsters together since. I know better now. :') Honestly though I despise seeing channels like this. Especially with the cat being right there lol. There's another channel on YT that has placed a teddy bear hamster next to a mother cat and her kittens several times for extended periods. I just wanted cute cat videos and all I got was stress. 😵
i had two russian dwarf hamsters and after two weeks of living together, i started hearing squeaks... and eventually they'd start squeaking very loud at each other during the night, which caused me to wake up. after a few days i separated them and they've been much happier and more social with me. although one of them is very much so not a people person
Hii! I have been watching you videos for about four years now and I just want to say thank you so much you provided me with the proper hamster care and because of that I now have my first hamster!! I love your videos no much and nugget is very happy to have an amazing proper home because of you!
As most of us know, female hamsters are in heat like once a week, and if anyone has owned a female and accidentally touched near her back end they know females stiffen up for a few seconds while the male mates with her. She goes stiff for easier access. The hamsters made an attempt to mate in this video, though judging by the position of the little one I doubt it was a successful first attempt
i mean heck if you want two small rodents just get some gerbils. why are you mixing hamsters when so many other rodents are social? rats, mice, gerbils, chinchillas, etc
Omg this is awful! I cannot imagine putting animals in harm's way just to get more views. I really hope that maybe this man will see your videos but honestly doubt it at this point. Thank you for making this video and talking about the risks of putting two hamsters together ❤️
If you are having a bad day I hope it gets better for you and I hope you enjoy this amazing video to cheer you up! Even if your having a good day stay positive and enjoy life! - Random Stranger :)
Tiny tales is the best cage ever how dare you the cages are giant 😡😡😡😡 and you should listen to pet store employees also hamsters should have a 2 cm wheel because arching their back is very good also tiny tales I think they are pretty big for a hamster why not a 30 sq inch cage?
What the hell 😭😭😭 I'm so disappointed in Slivki. At some time he was considered one of the kindest youtubers in russian speaking segment, but seeing this just blew my mind. Why did he think that this was a good idea😭
During the pandemic, we wanted to get a hamster. While we were on the waiting list for a hamster from Strong Brew hamstery, we also checked out local rescues for any hamsters in need of a good home. There was a rescue that featured hamsters in pairs and even threes, and when we wanted to apply to adopt one of them, they refused because they said they were looking to place those hamsters all together as they were "friends". At that time the hamsters were still fairly young. We told them that hamsters were solitary, they refused to let us adopt a single hamster and were adamant the hamsters needed each other. I was very surprised at such an approach from a rescue. We ended up waiting for 5 months for our Strong Brew hammie (strongly recommend them), but I always wondered what happened to those poor hamsters they refused to adopt out as singles...
I actually said to the original Ukrainian channel in Ukrainian (obviously I used google translate) that the cage was too small and that I reccomend them instead of putting soil, putting sand to make a real natural hamster terrarium
Live ur vids!! But I have a question, I want to get 3 dwarfs hamsters, are dwarf hamsters allowed to be in the same cage? Because I have done something research and it says they can but I just wanna make sure. Ty : )
Victoria thanks you for criticizing this man. I'm terrified of this channel and I think one of these hamsters is a male and the other is a female and it will end up with hamster babies and it seems to me that the creator intends to attract people by making the hamster give birth and get more views. It's really awful
So sad :(
@@VictoriaRaechel yea..

@@VictoriaRaechel And if this friend who left the hamster for overexposure is a bad owner? I think it could also be explained that a hamster named Adolf arrived on the Slivki channel of the show in a cardboard box, and not in a cage and not even in a carrier
oh no
I've been avoiding that channel like the plague.
@@rowdyrats7035 how did they even make an enclosure underwater?
When I was a kid I bought two dwarf hamsters from a pet shop because they actually RECOMMENDED that two be bought together because they didn’t like to be alone. Needless to say they literally chewed each other to pieces within about 2 weeks. 2 unfortunate little hammies and a very traumatised child. I still feel guilty.
I remember this too, i got two syrians :(( … I understand that it’s still the owner’s responsibility in the end, but when I was a child I thought that I could trust people working on pet shops. As i grew older the realization just gets worse :’/
Not your fault at all, it would have happened to someone else with those two if not you. Possibly someone who’d never have learned from the mistake
@@meganclaridge2235 very good point actually! I had many a hamster afterwards and never, ever did it again.
Don’t feel guilty ! You were just a kid !
You honestly have no reason to feel guilt. You were a kid. Now you know & don’t do it!
So they did some research, ignored it, and decided to try and beef up the new hamster so if they fight, the fight isn't so one sided. Amazing.
The way this man chose to not only abuse his animal but also, record it, edit it, voice it over, and post it is actually crazy. Thank you for bringing awareness to this.
For fucks sake it’s a MOUSE

I just adopted a hamster a few hours ago, and it’s been such a long journey to get to this point. It’s been in the making for almost a year, after I realized my past hamster didn’t have good care. My hamster, Merlo (I might rename depends on her personality) is going to be living her best life, and it’s all thanks to you and your channel. Me and all the hamsters I will own in the future are so glad you have this channel!
Also- almost every rescue I had looked at to adopt a hamster recommended me your channel (after I’d found it), so that’s cool.
Aw! I love to hear about the journey, your past hamster would be proud to see how far you've come!
OMG same and they repeat their awful story as if it's hilarious everytime I mention my hamster
Stop my hamster was an albino and her name was literally that lmao
@@ilikepurplenoses No way! And I thought I was being creative hahaha
Oooh Bunny seems like a nice Hampter fella, I’m glad ya didn’t bring her outside cause that would end terribly.
@@Me_When_The. She is! Thank you. 😄
I wish people would take even such small animals more seriously. It's still a living and breathing being. No toy!
I don't know if the small price for these critters makes them think - if it's dead, i buy a new one?
(I bought my very first hamster for 5€ ... still not sure how to feel about that)
Anyway, thank you so much talking about proper hamster care and draw attention to such awful cases like poor stefan and how to do better!
@@misery8264omeone should go kick this guy running that channel in the butt then lol he needs a decent kicking from the looks of it.
@@misery8264 sounds like a cool mom
This has the same energy as "Look, my two beta fish haven't killed each other yet. They must be fwends."
Hi Victoria. Recently my first ever hamster died. I've been watching ur videos for 3 years and because of you my hamster had a very good life. I really appreciate you posting videos and teaching new hamster owners. Loosing a pet is hard ❤
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss ❤️ *hugs*
Oh I thought loathe ment love... Damn
Confession: the channel with Stefan the hamster was my first exposure to hamster content on RUclips. Fortunately I ended up here and now I know better.
Glad you could find our way over here instead!
Hello! I just wanted to thank you for all that you have done for my hamster. Without you, he would be living in a tiny pet store cage with 1-2 inches of bedding. Now, he lives in a giant 40 gallon breeder aquarium with 8 inches of bedding! You have really helped!
It's great you've been able to improve your care!
Yes ! Without her my hamster would be the same now she has 1000+ square inches of home and around 7 - 8 inches of bedding!
“Guys! My two hamsters fought to the death! Their both lying down beside eachother in red bedding! They must be friends!!!” I bet he would say that 😂
“The other hamster runs up to Stephen in an unusual way, and now as we can see here the other hamster is now lying on the floor unconscious. Oh look he got up now they are bffs!”
literally 💀
Aw! I'm sure Pepper has had a really great life with you!
@@VictoriaRaechel thank you!
my friend had 2 hamsters in separate tanks that sat next to each other. her hamsters would throw them selves at the glass wall to get to each other to fight. that really just shows how aggressive they can get.
edit: yes she moved the tanks immediately
Well obviously they'll be aggressive towards each other if their both males with how territorial they are. But if you tame the hamster and provide the right conditions have 2 tanks next to each other is a common way to introduce animals to each other in the breading world of small animals
This is so sad I hope more people are informed by this video thanks Victoria!
Mabel gave me a pretty nasty chomp when I was trying to stop her from lifting her playpen 😅 they definitley can hurt you when they want to!
Thanks so much 🥰
i didn't notice that!
Then he named his next hamster Stefan too, I wonder how many Stefans he has actually had
@@teijaflink2226 I was wondering the same thing
This was a very sad video to watch… I was almost at tears the whole time…. This poor hamster did NOT deserve this! 😢
Love you Tori!
Oh idk what to say to that 😶
I’m not sure if this man has any common sense or respect for these animals.
That's great to hear!!!
I will quite happily enter an arena with whoever posted this original video. I'll just walk around the glass. No more abuse videos.
I recently bought a hamster with my mom and the hamster was really aggressive. I watched a lot of videos of yours and now the hamster is so peaceful and it really loves to sleep. I made sure not to play with her too much and gave her healthy food.☺
I AM LITTERALLY JUST SOOOOO CONFUSED
Even tho I don't own hamsters anymore, I still love to watch your videos❤
Thank you for the support 🥺
10:27 lol I’m in tears. In love with your laugh btw! so genuine.
YT doesn't care about small animal abuse, I have reported several channels for staging fights between animals and the videos are never removed.

I wish they would stop. But I doubt there's much anyone could do to actually get them to. I'm glad to see you calling them out though.
For gerbils it would have definitely been a fighting arena and they ARE social! Gerbils be like "come at me bro!" 😂 Seriously tho hamsters are solitary!!! Even if they mate they don't hang around after that 😬

Honestly though I despise seeing channels like this. Especially with the cat being right there lol. There's another channel on YT that has placed a teddy bear hamster next to a mother cat and her kittens several times for extended periods. I just wanted cute cat videos and all I got was stress. 😵
"imma go fight somebody"
Yeah I felt that 🤣
Didn’t know it could get worse 😩😫 also congrats on 600k!
i had two russian dwarf hamsters and after two weeks of living together, i started hearing squeaks... and eventually they'd start squeaking very loud at each other during the night, which caused me to wake up. after a few days i separated them and they've been much happier and more social with me. although one of them is very much so not a people person
Congratulations on 600k subscribers, Victoria!!🥰💕

Ahh not the “natural hamster terrariums”

His channel should be reported for animal abuse.
O.M.G ThankYou so much Victoria Raechel for all you do it is amazing g!!!
I actually said to the original Ukrainian channel in Ukrainian (obviously I used google translate) that the cage was too small and that I reccomend them instead of putting soil, putting sand to make a real natural hamster terrarium
