My robo doesn't have a cover for her wheel and she's perfectly fine. I haven't even seen her go flying of it (though she did fly out of her flying saucer a few time during playtime in her playpen. So I don't use that anymore)
Thank you so so much for including my 2 separate 30 gallon tanks!! The boxes were from Ikea, and we've started adding a LOT of bedding so they can burrow and nest!! Love you content
3:45 I'm pretty sure (from experience) that the wheel is 7.5 inches. I got it at first for my Syrian but upgraded to an 11.5 inch because it was way too small.
Its the pets at home silent wheel I've had it before but it broke after a year of my dwarf using it and its just over 6.5 inches it's more like 6.7 inches
I have that wheel for my dwarf hamster and it's about 6.5-7 inches. It's so disappointing that pets at home advertises it for Syrians and 5.5 inch wheels for dwarf hamsters :(
Victoria is so kind! If Victoria saw a VERY bad cage she would be the person to just give them advice in a kind way, always get your research from Victoria!
Victoria Raechel this is a little random, but do you know anything abt guinea pigs? Because we might get two. I saw one of those videos and in it there was a clip of a hamster being BATHED in WATER with a CAT. I can’t believe anyone would ever think that would be a good idea. The poor hamster :(

@@VictoriaRaechel Victoria in the video you said hamsters should have 10 inches of bedding but is 7 inches still ok for a dwarf hamster with 636 sq inches of floor space Also could you please mention in your videos that people shouldn't split there enclosures into deep bedding and shallow bedding parts unless the cage is at least 1300 sq inches big I love you, your pets and your videos 💖 And I'm really grateful that you go out if your way to share how people should corecctly care for hamsters.
I like how she’s so respectful when she gives the advice, and if they have a cage that’s way too small, she doesn’t yell at them she says stuff in a nice way 🙂👍
Fuzzy Rodent Tips i get where you are going with this but if they buy the wrong cage and some wrong stuff they can save up to get a new cage and stuff for them! Thank you!❤️
Just be careful Fuzzy Rodent Tips how you word things and when considering hamsters.Sometimes people go to pet stores and get loads of advice from them and they might not think to look online because they believe the pet store employees. Then when they come to finding out correct information if they are children they may struggle to get their parents to be reducated and to go out and buy the correct things for hamsters.
Camerstars :D I did that then i started watching Victoria and she explained my cage is too small. So I’m trying my hardest to get/build a new one, its just my mom being stubborn and my dad is all for it bc he loves my hamster, she just thinks the plastic from made in America bins is going to kill my hamster. I’m trying to prove she is wrong but i think she is just penny pinching even tho my uncle already has all the stuff to help me make it and i have money saved up to fill it. So i really hope she comes around and lets me do this. I just feel awful that I didn’t know this information before getting my cage.
I love how the 10 gallon guy or girl said “my haMmIe lOveS iTs cAge” uh duh they don’t stop lying to yourself they aren’t gonna love something that is as large as them lmfao
Weirdo gacha It’s not really about cost since I made my bin cage (around 650 sq inches) with the same/maybe even less cost as a 10 gallon tank. People saying that their hammies “love” their tiny cage is just absurd is what the OP was saying. If they can’t afford a good cage for a hamster, they shouldn’t get one. That goes for anybody.
I am formulating a plan for my 1st hamster in 56 years . . .Thank you Victoria your videos are perfect. I am going to join 2 55 gallon plastic bins together for him. Maybe even a RUclips video

The holiday bins are the BEST!!! I found these about 3 years ago when I started owning hamsters and they’re absolutely fantastic for dwarfs and robos. It isn’t big enough for Syrians in my opinion. My Syrians have need more running and climbing space and always seem so be bored in just that bin. My current Syrian has a wide/deep bin on bottom and it is connected to a holiday bin on top. She hasn’t been bored since I got her a year ago!! Took a bit of engineering but it was totally worth it :)
You have helped me so much with my long haired serian and he sadly passed and i just got a robo dwart named pepper and she has an amazing life bc you have helped me get everything she needs.
Okay, no... My hamster lives in a 50 gallon tank ( I found it on Craigslist for $30) he has plenty of bedding (up to 11in) and has a properly sized wheel and my 12 year old self paid for him, I don't expect for people to find a huge tank for $30 but I only spent $100 on him and his stuff and I made most of his toys. But now he has everything he is ganna need for a long time. "I can't afford to" isn't a excuse ... There are ways around that. Another thing that helps me is I make my hamster bedding and that cuts the cost down A LOT. So do some research and there are definitely ways to get around financial problems and if you are to lazy to take the extra time, then you probably shouldn't be owning a animal.
I agree, I mean I’m 20 and I’m spending a LOT to fully upgrade and crowd my boyfriend’s hamster’s cage, but the minimum requirements can be easily accessed if you need them. I made a bin cage for around $25, I got some basic ceramic bowls, bedding, and etc on sale. I’m mostly spending a lot of money on niteangel stuff because I can afford to, but the dollar store and Craigslist have some great options. Good on you!
A few suggestions for an appropriate hamster cage At the very least a 450 Square Inch cage, but more is always better Plenty of wheel space, at least enough to not make the hamsters back bend (if it is a Syrian hamster at least 11-12 inches will be the minimum) At least 6 inches of bedding (hamsters burrow and they can't burrow with nothing to burrow with) A decently sized sand bath Hideouts Hamsters don't need tall cages so no need to worry about a second level Moderate room temperatures If you have other pets who might eat your hamster, Add a lid or keep the hamster in a different room the pet cannot enter in It's safe to say all store bought hamster cages are not nearly big enough, so consider wooden cages, bins, and whatever else is safe Yes I don't have a hamster
I love your videos sooo much they have shown me that my cage needs an upgrade so I have spent alot of money and alot of time on a new bin cage(I watched your tutorial on how to make one!)thank you so much
All my cages (3 atm) are modified cages, with the top levels usually attached onto wooden bases. My oldest little man Popcorn has a Rosewood pico on top of a base with a 1000 square inches of space. Oddly he spends most of his time as high as poss. He's got a nest on every level but not where he has a little hide in his huge basement. Funny little guy.

In 3 days I’m turning 14! I might get a hamster, I don’t fully know if I will because of what’s happening right. About 4-5 months ago I found you. I watched your videos for a week and then decided that I wanted a hamster. I went to the store with my mom and in while we were driving to the store I asked my mom if I could have a hamster. She asked some stuff that I need to know. What kind of bedding, food, how big should the cage be, how much bedding... of course I answered that because for some of those questions you answer in every video. So she said “make me something to show what you would do to prove that you are responsible, what you would do to take care of the hamster, and how much you know about the hamster.” So I did, I’m pretty sure that I persuaded her. Throughout the 4-5 months when I asked I learned so much more stuff. So I’m really excited for my birthday because I really want a hamster.❤️Taylor

-A lot of places to hide.

Large silent spinners are alright, as seen in the video, the 12 inch one.
-Never use dust baths, they can cause respiratory problems
-Never wash hamster with water or any wet substance
- If you choose to give your hamster a water dish, change the water out every day or at least twice a day
-Use safe bedding. Paper is recommended, wood shavings are dangerous
- Give your hamster a proper diet of good brand food (not the commercial brands), fruits and vegetables, and timothy hay. Make sure to research how much food and what type is good.
-More toys= more productivity
- Scatter feeding promotes simulation of the wild for hamsters
- Dwarf Hamsters: 6-8 inch+ wheel
-Syrians: 8 (for babies, mostly) - 12 inch+ wheel
-Can have a hideout with multiple rooms to promote burrowing or hiding of food
-Plastic tubing not recommended, ventilation tends to be not the best.

Glad to hear that you upgraded your cage 👌❤️😊
3:45 I'm pretty sure (from experience) that the wheel is 7.5 inches. I got it at first for my Syrian but upgraded to an 11.5 inch because it was way too small.
Its the pets at home silent wheel I've had it before but it broke after a year of my dwarf using it and its just over 6.5 inches it's more like 6.7 inches
I have that wheel for my dwarf hamster and it's about 6.5-7 inches. It's so disappointing that pets at home advertises it for Syrians and 5.5 inch wheels for dwarf hamsters :(
That thing is fine for dwarfs robo etc but they just had to get it for a syrian... which would clearly not be big enough for it
@@kittenmimi5326 yeah that's what we are saying
Victoria is so kind! If Victoria saw a VERY bad cage she would be the person to just give them advice in a kind way, always get your research from Victoria!
A hamster does not “love their cage” if it’s too small
A lot of the times many just learn to live with what they're given which just isn't fair to them :(
Victoria Raechel this is a little random, but do you know anything abt guinea pigs? Because we might get two. I found a cage that meets requirements two house two and plan to use fleece and bedding (I also use the bedding for my hamster it’s the kaytee clean and cozy) but I want to do more research on guinea pigs before making an impulse buy if you know anything it would be a big help, thanks :)

Camerstars :D
I did that then i started watching Victoria and she explained my cage is too small. That goes for anybody.

needed to end it on some type of note haha
The holiday bins are the BEST!!! I found these about 3 years ago when I started owning hamsters and they’re absolutely fantastic for dwarfs and robos. It isn’t big enough for Syrians in my opinion. My Syrians have need more running and climbing space and always seem so be bored in just that bin. My current Syrian has a wide/deep bin on bottom and it is connected to a holiday bin on top. She hasn’t been bored since I got her a year ago!! Took a bit of engineering but it was totally worth it :)
You have helped me so much with my long haired serian and he sadly passed and i just got a robo dwart named pepper and she has an amazing life bc you have helped me get everything she needs.
most of these cages look so great! I'm so happy for the little hammies
That’s amazing!
I just want to say that is noticed everyone's hamsters in this video are SOOOOO CUTE❣️ I have never seen a hamster that didn't melt my heart 😊😍
A few suggestions for an appropriate hamster cage
At the very least a 450 Square Inch cage, but more is always better
Plenty of wheel space, at least enough to not make the hamsters back bend (if it is a Syrian hamster at least 11-12 inches will be the minimum)
At least 6 inches of bedding (hamsters burrow and they can't burrow with nothing to burrow with)
A decently sized sand bath
Hideouts
Hamsters don't need tall cages so no need to worry about a second level
Moderate room temperatures
If you have other pets who might eat your hamster, Add a lid or keep the hamster in a different room the pet cannot enter in
It's safe to say all store bought hamster cages are not nearly big enough, so consider wooden cages, bins, and whatever else is safe
Yes I don't have a hamster
I love your videos sooo much they have shown me that my cage needs an upgrade so I have spent alot of money and alot of time on a new bin cage(I watched your tutorial on how to make one!)thank you so much

AHHH THAT SOUNDS SO CUTE I WAANNA SEEE
gots a question can I house a momma and its 4 week son in a 650 sq inch bin
10 inch bedding
At 4 weeks they should be separated.
That is a big enough for one of them. Do not house them together though. No matter if they're related or not they should be seperated.
Please don't house them together, I did that one and the mom hurt the baby and he bassed away
