  • Welcome back to the second video in a two part series about shorter cranks and the importance of a bike fit. Today I'm with Callum Hughes who is owner of VeloClinic. He is not just running through a fit on my tt bike, but also my road bike as well.
    I've been having back issues on the bike and with 50% of my time being spent on the road bike and not having had a bike fit it was about time for that to change. Callum is a guru on not just making you aero, but also making sure your position is sustainable, comfortable and ultimately making you injury free so you can ride faster for longer.
    This video is long and full of loads of info, I could have easily edited lots out but I feel like all the info in the video is really important and I hope you learn something new. We made some pretty big changes to the bikes and I'm really looking forward to training on them to see what they feel like compared to before.
    As always, if you liked the video please give it a link, share comment and subscribe if you haven't done already. If there are any of you out there experiencing pain on the bike or are unsure of getting a bike fit I would urge you to do so- it makes a huge difference.
    I'd love to hear tour thoughts on the video in the comment section below, but also what you've experienced from bike fits and what the changes have done for you😊
    Thanks again for watching the video, I'll see you in the next one!

    Cannot recommend Callum enough, his knowledge is endless, and enthusiasm boundless.
    Been fitted by Callum for the last 3 years and is always evolving with my increased flexibility and also age too.
    The guy is a veritable genius.
    He’s also now my coach too 😁

    I ride a giant road bike and recently got clip on aero bars. I was having real issues with getting my saddle far enough forward because I'm 6'3 and the sloped back seat post angle made it very difficult. This tip for flipping the saddle mechs at the top was really useful in helping with that so thank you so much.
    Great video Harry

      Kieran Dickson really glad the video helped Kieran! I’m not as tall as you but even I was having issues so I can only imagine it was really frustrating for you. I’ve been out on the road bike since and it feels completely different- I hope you feel the benefits from it

      @@Harry-Palmer That's good to hear, I've just switched mine around now. Especially trying to fit it as a triathlon bike and wanting to get the seat tip right by the casette its been difficult. Hope your new fit helps resolve some of them issues you've been having

    How did you find this bike fit experience compared to Matt’s?

    • @Harry-Palmer
      @Harry-Palmer  4 года назад

      It was great. No doubt about it Matt is a brilliant bike fitter. But Callum uses the Retul bike sit system which gives you all the numbers and confidence that you are in the right position at the end of the day

    Why not go back to the guy that did your first fit?

    • @Harry-Palmer
      @Harry-Palmer  4 года назад

      Great question. One reason is the travelling. Callum lives a lot closer. Also Callum used the Retul bike fit system which is incredibly specific and gives you confidence. Also I just really believe in Callum’s knowledge and experience- he’s a top guy with so much to share
