QUESTION OF THE REVIEW: Come up with a TV series based on a different tragedy or disaster. Even though this topic allows for some truly awful ideas, let's keep it at least minimally respectful to the people who actually passed away as a result of the tragedies/disasters you're using. Just like "Fantasy Island" keep the focus on a completely made up story instead of the actual results of the event. Please explain your concept briefly instead of just putting down a title. I imagine a story about a couple of gerbils who single-handedly pilot an airplane (which has fallen victim to simple mechanical failure) from crashing into the Empire State Building, while also thwarting the plans of an evil tycoon who wants to burn down the rainforest so he can build a sadness factory.

The aftermath of 9/11. It's almost like an end of an era. Airports are taking precautions, those affected are, at first, questioning how things will return to normal afterwards, sorta like everyone during covid but as the days go on our main characters begin seeing positive changes done to the world. And while we will never get be back to how things were before, a new bright future can be seen ahead and we truly see either through a montage of the site being cleared or the creation of the memorial or the character arcs our heroes go through as the series continues, that maybe tragedies like this were meant to happen for a good and sometimes vague reason. And there is to be no magical moonbeams or a forced good vs evil subplot.
The 1917 Russian revolution, but with a cute doggo and a bat sidekick and an amnesia plot -- no, hold on, wait...
The 1607 founding of Jamestown, but with tree spirits and a hummingbird and -- no, wait...
This gag should really follow the rule of three, but I think that's it.
The Swan Princess? That could be a series. Alpha and Omega? Sure. Tentacolino? How is THAT the movie that got a show?!

"Fond memories of Hurricane Katrina" As someone who was displaced by said hurricane, I can appreciate your sarcasm.
This show reminds me of those games you played as a kid. There would be random figurines from different sets but they all live in the same world "Just Because!" And as the game got longer the story got more inconsistent and things randomly happen until you get bored of the game and just have a snack break, and forget what you were even doing, when you get back to it the next day.
You just described Sonichu. Or perhaps Pooh's Adventures. Or Yoshizilla fics.

If Mondo tv wanted to make me appreciate “Titanic legend goes on” the rapping dog one, it did a great job. I now love that movie for not starting an unnecessary franchise.
What kind of a world do we live it where we can honestly say THAT movie did it BETTER?
@@Bobsheaux a dark world full of pain. Then coming to terms that legend goes on at least had some characters die and didn’t start a franchise it was a one and done. It still not good though.

You got to also check out the rest of what this "franchise" has to offer besides the Titanic stuff, which includes Simba the King Lion, Christmas in New York, and Winner and the Golden Child. Apparently Mondo World wanted their own interconnected universe.
I call this the Nuke Pasta Cinematic Universe.
Nuke for North Korea and Pasta for Italy.
I just checked its portfolio of films and TV series. It could rival, if not exceed the Marvel Cinematic Universe in terms of volume LOL.
This whole mess has the consistency of a really awkward fever dream.

The Titanic Series series gets stupider and stupider, what the hell did I just see?! It seems that the King of Atlantis(or Atlanti, ugh) is the real villain of the series. The script is so terribly written it’s unbelievable and the some of the character designs are uncanny! I’ve seen enough of this monstrosity of a series!
The studio has much more to offer, you know.
I like how the only thing I could think of for why it was called 'Atlanti" was because in Latin, a second declension noun just gets conjugated in its plural form from a "us' ending to "I" (Like, cactus to cacti). Except, you know, Atlantis ends in a "is," and you know, it doesn't make sense that Atlani would be plural. But Latin is the basis for Italian, so- -I'm giving this series far too much credit -
Mondo tv is a hot bed for bizarre shows that feel like out of control fan-fiction. One of their most “ambitious” story ever told has to be Simba and Sleeping beauty knock offs. Where these two have their own stories that eventually cross over in a show called “Winner and the golden child” the shows lore and story is so confusing it makes Kingdom hearts story understandable and easy to follow.

Actually, the girl looks like she's from Angels Friends, and the boy somewhat like he's from Monsters and Pirates, both are older Mondo tv shows.

They're not Polly Pocket clones....

I am kinda surprised how much the animation semi improved on the show. It's still hard to believe that this was animated in North Korea before Italy's studio: Mondo Tv distributed it
Fun fact: The Legend of the Titanic and In Search of the Titanic was animated in North Korea, in fact this a co-production between Italy and North Korea. So I wonder if this TV series was also animated in Pyongyang, and what kind of awkward conversation occurred between these collaborators.
They will literally make a tv cartoon series out of anything that exists. Anyone remember the one about MC Hammer owning and wearing magical talking shoes? Or how about the ones with the cast of Gilligan’s Island and the Partridge Family taking plac3 in space? Yeah. There are cartoons about a Gilligan and the Partridge Family living in space. And don’t get me started on The Brady Kids, the Back to the Future cartoon, or Toxic Crusader.
They even made cartoons based on R-rated movies like Rambo, RoboCop and Police Academy.
And a Happy Days cartoon where the Fonz and the gang go back in time with an anthropomorphic dog named Mr. Cool.

I still want to point out from the review years ago that it really makes you wonder whom were the real villains of Tentacolino
While the mice want to take over the world and sharks just want to screw around/take the treasure; the toys and atlanti(cs) taken the main characters to their city where they get "special treatment," when they just force them to drink a strange elixir that not only let them breathe underwater: But also give them force immortality;
let their toy freak tell them they can't go home (Even though the show made that part Pointless);
and once the mice took the red herring of the elixir, they instantly go to war and cheer when they suffered a fate worse than death;
and finally: Put them in the island where they're casted away for all eternity
Hell the guest star in his trilogy review has a point of saying it's like North Korea's propaganda of Squirrel and Hedgehog
It wouldn't surprise me that North Korea would make a cartoon where being held against your free will on an island cut from the rest of the world would be considered a good idea.
They made the movies because Titanic was popular, they threw in the talking mice because An American Tail was popular. They threw in the sea creatures and Atlantis because The Little Mermaid was popular. They threw in the toys because Toy Story was popular. They threw in the anime babies because anime was popular. They played the notes, but not the music.
Feels like they also copied "Emily Windsnap": an undersea king sends the MCs to a hidden tropical island for "protection", plus memory wiping any outsiders who come upon the island

I just thought of something. With how completely bonkers this show is, and with how its primary location is Atlantis, what if this is a reworked version of the cancelled "Team Atlantis"? You know, that cancelled TV series based on Disney's "Atlantis: The Lost Empire"? With only 3 episodes being repurposed for "Atlantis 2: Milo's Return"? And how that sequel involved Milo and Kida traveling to the surface? Regardinf the core premise, what if Italty managed to get the rights to "Team Atlantis", and then injected ALL the illegal drugs into it and that's how we eneded up with "Fantasy Island", which somehow didn't get a massive lawsuit considering there was a live action sitcom from the 70's with the same name that was later turned into a horror film last year?

Bobsheaux, it's been such an honor for me being a fan of yours since the beginning and the only way I found you was through the Tentacolino review, and ever since I saw your channel grow and you continue to be a great and underrated reviewer and I'm so happy that you found love with Raven and you continue to review movies and TV shows that are either bad or just all around bizarre with a few good films in between, but after seeing through the TV screen and now knowing that Tentacolino has a TV series of it's own, I just want to ask a tiny little question...

I don't think you understand how shocked I was when I saw this. I actually said, out loud, "what the fuck?" Who in God's green earth thought THIS was even remotely appropriate?
SEK studios of North Korea was responsible for the animation of this show as was the case with Legend of the Titanic and Tentacolino. I’ve spent a lot of time with their shows personally and they have such a unique style that it’s impossible to miss a piece of animation from their studio.

To answer your question about the kids coming out weirdly anime, it's because they're recycled character models from Angel's Friends. It's another MondoTV series, obvi. The daughter is a clone of the main heroine, Raf, all the way down to the outfit and hairstyle.
This isn't Fantasy Island! Where's Ricardo Montalban?! Where's de plane?! De plane?!

It was inevitable that you would cover this after hearing about this... this... thing in Media Hunter's review of this same show! I myself didn't think it was worth it to tell you about Mondo's Fantasy Island... Instead, you found out the hard way. The existence of this series and how it portrays the Titanic tragedy is so mind boggling that it makes Blumhouse's Fantasy Island look like a good movie by comparison!
A lot of people blame Italy for this mess. Common misconception! While Italy and Spain do shoulder the blame for Titanic: The Legend Goes On, that one is of course unrelated to the rest of the animated Titanic "trilogy". The Tentacolino franchise? Italy helped, clearly they helped a lot judging by the opening credits, but it was outsourced to them. By whom? North Korea. Not even kidding. That's why it's so freakin' CRAZY. North Korea has a ton of animated series like this, and they all operate on exactly this level of insanity in their storytelling, like children at play trying to one-up each other with constant new power-ups. And if you think about it, you really can't blame them at all, because, well... North Koreans, to put it lightly and through no fault of their own... they don't get out much.
Yeah, given the weird crap from North Korea that Saberspark covered; all I'm left saying is that I'm pressed that there exist animation from NK that isn't blatant propaganda.

I am rewatching this video and when I saw the scene of Razorteeth (or Iceteeth) sleeping. I felt obliged to point out that Sharks don't have the floatation bladder that enables other fish to hover in the water. So Sharks must swim constantly or they'll sink. The more you know.
The daughter's design makes me *extremely* uncomfortable...Like "5 years after this, the character designer is going to be arrested and we'll all know the exact reason why" uncomfortable.
She also slightly looks like the mother but looks like she has a different father.
