    What I think would be a interesting idea for a Little Red Riding Hood story is to have her be blind. After noticing that she is blind the wolf thinks that he could trick her because she wouldn’t be able to see that it is a wolf pretending to be her grandmother. But Red has heightened hearing so she could instantly tell that this is not her grandmother and her asking the wolf about the nose, ear, and teeth when she touches him is a diversion tactic until the hunter that helps grandmother comes to fight off the wolf. Make Red Riding Hood a cunning girl that most people overlook because she is blind.

    I feel like Little Red Riding Hood has the makings of a druid or a ranger somewhere; I actually really liked seeing her talking to the fawn and the thrush. Furthermore, I want to see a version of the story where there are other wolves present in the forest; they're a tight-knit family unit and usually leave humans alone. Thus, there's a contrast to the BIG BAD Wolf, who's an outcast, and an asshole I'd wager.

    • @abrahemsamander3967
      @abrahemsamander3967 4 года назад +18

    Fun fact: the original Red Riding Hood tale was conceived with the wolf being a direct analogy to sexual predators who would stalk lone children, not just regular animal predators. Essentially an old timely stranger danger tale. So for better or worse, the creepy undertones are at least respectful to the source material.

Unfortunately, it's nigh-impossible to find any casting credits for these movies that actually credit who voiced who, so you have to rely on your familiarity with these VA a lot of the time to recognize them. I also recognize McNeil as Frollo in Goodtimes Hunchback, because you can sometimes hear him slip into his Dinobot voice.

    I honestly think this animation is sorta cute, sure it's nothing spectacular and doesn't hold a candle to Disney 2D movies in any way shape or form, but honestly, it's not bad either, and, although it is a bit mixed with massages I think that kids could get some valuable lessons from it like: be kind, help others, but maybe not be so naive and don't talk with suspicious people and listen to your parents. Also, being easily distracted and flip flopping on listening to your parent's advice is just kids being kids. With all that said review is still quite endertaining.

    • @daliborjovanovic510
      @daliborjovanovic510 4 года назад +3

      I agree. The animation in this movie is actually (by Goodtime's standards) quite impressive, especially when compared to their various movies that rip off Disney flicks, like The Jungle Book (the animation in that something is a sight to be behold XD).

    actually what you discribed is Freeway which is an adult dark comedy retelling of little red ridding hood. the wolf character who's a human serial killer in this one offers the girl a ride, buys her lunch, gets her to open up Gets her to trust him and then reveals he thinks she's trash and tries to kill her. Its heavily implied that this effected her in negative ways for the rest of the movie.

    I finally figured it all out! Little Red Riding could talk to the animals because she’s literally Fluttershy! Look it up on Wikipedia if you don’t believe me. Also in an odd twist, the bird is Pinkie Pie’s father. That explains everything!

    15:59-16:16 that music never gets old! :D All seriousness though, this version has something particularly in common with Hoodwinked. This wolf uses disguises similar to Wolf in the movie. However, its not too necessary here considering how the fairy tale mentions Red Riding Hood's never met a wolf so she's not scared of him. Of course, she trusts him which sets the effect of telling him where she's going and so on. Wolf in Hoodwinked used disguises because he's an investigative journalist revealing he's not the villain. That was part of the plot, not to mention funny. You don't have to be literal with the wolf in sheep clothing metaphor. Oh wait! Goodtimes did that! -_-

    Yeah, having the wolf befriend her beforehand would be a great twist on the formula than usual. Also interesting that this version didn't include a huntsman/woodsmen to come in and save the day, especially since it's a modern version. While the cleaned up version of Little Red is always about not talking to strangers, the older, adult version is about not trusting shady men, who could smooth talk you into ... come to think of it that might be just the same thing but on a more mature subject matter.
