I vocally gasped at that transition from that new vortex look to 9 and 10's version; it was seamless! And the homage to the '90s movie with the Logo moving into the vortex was a nice touch, too! David's face could've been seen more, but it's not a significant flaw.
Not often I see a vortex that I like, this is GREAT! The integration of the diamond shape is subtle, not overbearing, and the vortex itself has just enough texture overlays that it doesn't look flat/repetitive. Also the asteroids that appear IN SYNC with the Mcgann piano notes??? That is so damn clever, I love it.
The only things I would suggest would be to speed up the TARDIS flying animation slightly, comparative to the speed of the vortex. Also in post-rendering, upping the contrast/curves, or adding a multiply/overlay could help some of the lighter colors pop more, along with the text.
@@minecraftrotisseriechickenAll of the TARDIS movements are references in some form to past titles, where they're actually much slower than you remember! The *very* slow movements at the end are around the same speed of the 1996 sequence, and it'd feel wrong doing those movements any faster, to me.
@@argorath Ok, that's fair! I did catch the movement similar to the series 5/6 intro. I suppose I was confused because the new opening theme has an additional motif after the sting compared to previous themes, which gives added time for the TARDIS to stay before the swell.
I hope that Murray Gold putting the middle 8 30 secs in the song finally means we get it back in the opening credits, and not only the closing ones or not at all. If a perfect time has come to put the middle 8 in the title like you did, this is it. Im gonna be a little sad when the official one is not as a good as this one because this is prefect.
Took my breath away. Absolutely brilliantly executed - thrilling, dramatic, energetic and INDISPUTABLY Doctor Who from the first pixel to the last. Bravo!
So many references! 3rd and 4th Doctor titles, with the colours and patterns and diamond references, 8th Doctor slow rotation of the TARDIS with zoom in, asteroids from the 7th Doctor, transitioning to 9th and 10th vortex behind the logo! Agh that's so cool! I probably missed a few references, too...
I love how you implemented the middle 8 intro the intro ithe way the logo shows up just as it starts wish the they implement the middle 8 in the real intro aswell
What i wouldn't mind for a title sequence for once is if we get the usual vortex intro sequence but then instead of following the tardis we ctually explore the console room for once.
Really cool title sequence concept, the only thing i would say is for the first episode, there are too many names, you should only show david tennant and catherine tate, then after the logo appears, but obviously in later episodes for example journeys end, that was right to show all the names there
Looks super good, I can see the inspiration from the 9th and 10th Doctor's openings. Only flaw is that the episode's title was a bit hard to read. It would need to contrast more with the background.
That’s great, 2 points that I think would improve this: add motion blur to the TARDIS, when the logo passes the camera turn it 180 degrees as the logo passes otherwise great video seriously
I know the middle 8 will probably only appear in the closing credits, but if it is in the opening credits, they HAVE to time it with the logo appearing like this!
I love this! I don't think we'll get Bernard Cribbins or Miriam Margolyes in the opening credits though, and I suspect the middle eight will be closing credits only sadly.
@DoctorWhoManiaProductions23 if you put in "15th doctors theme" and go to the one from the channel Doctor Who TV you'll be able to listen... I'm really hoping it was either them playing around with the background music or just messing around cuz it's not Dr Who in the slightest, I hear it and think of a car chase or a western where they're on horseback next to a train but not a Who theme song
Hello! I really love Doctor Who and I absolutely adore these titles, I was wondering as how Doctor who is back with a new title sequence Could you please make one similar for me? With obviously the names taken out? I’m making a fan series soon and these titles look so awesome!! But if you do not take requests then sorry to have bothered you
Not really something I'd want to do, the title sequences that are just pre-made assets put together often feel a bit lazy and I'd rather people put the work in to make their own custom ones. I'd be more open to doing a VFX breakdown or tutorial on how I create the vortexes and do the animations, as that feels more productive to me. The software I use to make my work (blender) is completely free, so there's very little barrier to entry here, other than skill, and I only started learning about 9 months ago, so I wouldn't even say that's a particularly high barrier.
No. No. No. Stop putting Ncuti and the others in the sequence people, he's not the main character yet, the credits should only have 14 and donna, any else is just stretching out the intro and making it longer, ruining the flow of the sequence
Wouldn't work for a normal series, sure, but for anniversary specials with such big cast lists, having a bit of fanfare is warranted! Plus, with this music specifically, it feels built around having the logo appear with the Middle 8, the music reaches it's crescendo at that point, rather than where it typically does in the main theme, it just makes sense imo
@@argorath I can see why it would seem like that's where the logo should be put at face value, but every doctor who intro theme has the extended bit at the end, that's the part of the theme that just comes with all of them, the end of the intro is more realistically to end at the 27 - 28 second mark, the studio TV versions never add the fanfare extended part into it for the actual show. In the offical TV version they're lucky to squeeze even 3 names into it because the logo always has to hit at the peak part of the song.
@@Apac12 I'm well aware that this isn't the norm, but it not having been done before isn't a good reason to not do it now. Even in extended versions the middle eight isn't usually the cescendo of the theme, it is here, so this feels appropriate for where the title should hit. and the middle eight was excluded from 2005 onwards because Murray Gold didn't like it, not because of time constraints.
Absolutely terrible … the music is way off tempo, the tumbling TARDIS and kool aid colored vortex is old idea and you left out Neil Patrick Harris THE ANNIVERSARY VILLAN … Adam Walker VFC has the best 60th ANV TSC using updated design to Tom Bakers opening with the Diamond Logo. Days away from what will really be used as a title sequence … I hope RTD doesn’t muck this up.
The music is the official music, I didn't make it, it's a bit off because it's a concert recording rather than the official TV mix, but without the official TV mix this is the best I could do The TARDIS and vortex are an old idea, yeah, it's an anniversary title sequence, it's celebrating the past, that was the idea. NPH isn't in it because he's not in The Star Beast, he's only in The Giggle, although I probably shouldn't have put Ncuti in there for that same reason, but oh well.
This ticks all my boxes!
Tardis in the Vortex ✅

A little series 5 fanfare with the tardis movements!

That reference to the 1996 movie title sequence was nice.
