    I love these type of Gangster movies of robbery , crime & mayhem .. No , not that I would go out & do such a thing but I just love to watch them , Such as Dillinger & Bonnie & Clyde .. And guess what ? These are old Classic movies & they are just as good as some of these new movies today ..

      I understand Vivien. I am with you 100%. I have been in prison 9 years and getting out next year. And this movie really hits home. Goldcard , i like your name . You sound rich, forget Vivien let's talk about us. shhh a guard is coming. Of course I am kidding . This movie does a great job of portraying what a bad life and bad HOME example can lead to. Nowadays we have a societal Ma Barker. Perhaps not as fragrant as encouraging criminal activity but absolutely criminally permissive. Ask our fellow beings in Seattle, we can see how that little social experiment went and is going and going and going. ( p.s I have never been in prison . Knock on shackles).

      And true to form he was the one that was squeaky clean, and didnt want to do crime. I felt sorry for that brother killed before Ma Barker because he was really trying to stop doing crime, and turn himself in.

    Alvin Karpis was known as "Creepy Karpis" due to his weird smile, he was born 10/Aug/1907 and died 26/Aug/1979 in Spain, George Kelly Barnes 18/July/1895 - 18/July/1954 was known as Machine Gun Kelly and is reportedly the person who called FBI agents " G-Men", he died in prison on his 59th birthday

    You should read the Wikipedia article about Ma Barker. Apparently, she was not at all a criminal, just a cover for the gang as they moved around. I've read that Alvin Karpas remarked: "Ma Barker couldn't organize lunch." (BTW, Karpis was just about the only famous bandit of the public enemy era to actually complete his prison sentence. He spent his remaining year in Portugal as a beachcomber.)

    • @ArizonaJoeHines
      @ArizonaJoeHines 3 года назад +3

      Oops I meant he spent his remaining YEARS in Portugal. (Or Spain, according to Wiki). He died in 1979 after being released from US prison in the early 1960's.

    This is a good black and white film. I remember the one kid from my 3 sons. That was a good series. This woman is so ungrateful for what she already has. She has a house and a loving husband. But that isnt enough for her. Her and her sons are all going to wind up dead.

    Even though this movie makes Mrs. Barker out to be ruthless, in reality she was highly moral and only turned to crime when it benefited her.
