As a security guard I use my pocket 3 a lot. So it’s always in my pocket. And I found the gimbal lock with the screen cover she calls “not the best quality” not a bad at all. I’ve combined it with a silicone cover for the bottom half of the camera and it’s fantastic. The gimbal stays in place and the screen is also locked in place and the silicone cover gives me extra grip and peace of mind.
There is a Case made by 'Scotty Makes Stuff ' that is worth looking at. A different concept, in that the Pocket 3 actually is secured in the lower half with a quarter 20 and so provides constant protection, even during shooting, and affords a wider grip attained by the case being in place during use. It has no less than 5 quarter 20 points, (plus the one that secures the Pocket 3 to the case) One can also purchase a roll cage for the gimbal that clips into the bottom half of the case. The Pro case comes in two versions , one with a tripod on the bottom and one with a battery extension , if you have the creator pack version. It's getting good reviews, and I've ordered one. A very good video Gemini! I like your relaxed presentation and easy pace. A pleasant change from some of the frenetic channels that some times make me think the presenter is desperate to go to the toilet and is going as fast as they can to finish the video.
Neewer has a four-filter kit with ND16, ND64, ND256, and a circular polarizer for about $36 on Amazon. The filters are thin enough that you can stack them, and they're thin enough that if you power off with one of the ND filters on the lens, it will still turn to the normal shut off position. I like the ND64, for shooting outdoors, on sunny days, and the polarizer can stack on the ND16, without vignetting to cut glare when it's really bright, outside.
Thanks for accessory rundown! The pocket 3 works very well with the Ulanzi F38 or F22 systems. Many people on RUclips love Scotty Makes Stuff gear for the Pocket 3- like the 4th axis gimbal and several cases. But I’m not a fan of the 3-D printed feel of their materials.
Great video! I've been using a Peak Design Tech Pouch to carry my Pocket 3, and it works well. Pricey but I feel very confident everything is protected.
When I applied the lens protector, the magnetic filters would no longer stay on. The StartRC hard case is very nice for all you Pocket 3 and accessories, it's also affordable. Great accessories, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the info! I think the Sunnylife protector is great because it allows you to protect the OP3 when it's fitted out with the expansion adapter etc. so you can put it in a bag without having to de-rig. Another reason to avoid protectors on the camera lens btw is that magnetic filters may no longer fit when the camera goes into the shut-down position... For another accessory I recommend the Falcam GoPro to DJI Magnetic mount adapter... You have to modify it a little to extend the 1/4-20 hole all the way through, but once done, you can mount it on the thread adapter of the OP3. Now I have the DJI magnetic mountings on several different places and can use my Pocket 3 and Action 4 interchangeably!
Im so confused you said you like to keep it simple however i noticed the camera does its own thing and the exposure, wb etc changes when it shouldn't. 😮 Great tutorial!😊
Wow 🖤 Thats fantastic..I'm planning to start a lifestyle vlogging RUclips channel, so I've decided to buy the DJI OsmoPocket 3. I've just started saving money, and I hope to buy it soon Mam😀🥴
You really need to know advanced settings well to determine that. If you don’t know where to start with filters, pick up a polarizer (reduces glare and makes colors more saturated) and a mist filter (gives you a soft, glowing effect) to start with. The ND filters are harder to explain - if you don’t know why you need them, save them for when you learn more about video settings.
Hello, when we use selfie stick, how or where to press the button to capture photo or start / stop recording? It can't be use our hand try to reach the pocket 3, right? Thank you
7:26 my fiancé just got this base for her camera, but the issue we ran into was after a few uses, the stand became very loose. Not in a way that it would fall over, but in a way that it won't stay on if you decide to pick it up. Word to the wise
Flip it, one side is curved and the other flat. If you put the flat part of the base to the curved wall, it will fit snug. Flip it the other way, it’s loose but still secure. They also had little sticker pads to stick to the wall of the base in order to make it more snug
I bought the larger case, a different stand but need to see if I can access the bottom usb-c. I gave away my dji fiters for the freewell. I also bought the screen protector.
I've got variable nd filters from K&F concept and i find them pretty useful. I think they're worth to mention since they're also not expensive. They even have 1-5 vnd with black mist 1/4 built-in which also allows the lense to fully close when turned off.
@@vgplay4850 Nothing difficult actually. I only prefer to use black mist filter at night though. I don't want to change nd filters all the time and that's the main reason why i gone with variable nd lense. But changing to blackmist filter at night and changing to normal nd filter during day is such a hassle for me. I like to leave the nd filter on pocket 3 and never take it off.
@@HakanOnurDerici what about keeping the black mist on during the day? I'm curious since the product I'm referring to is combined so if during day it's still good then great I can go for that and not keep changing like you said
Hi Gemini, Great video... Do you know if any self-stick or extension poll can really help operate/rotate/change the angle view of the camera while on it? so we control camera movement from the stick ??
I always look to your reviews! I ordered the Pocket 3, but am currently waiting because it’s on back order…. In the meantime, I ordered the Scottymakesstuff Pro case that will accommodate the battery extension. What do you think of that? I’m going to backpack the French Route of the Camino de Santiago with my daughter. I figure that should be protective enough that I can throw it in my pack without having to worry.
I do wish to buy a Pocket 3 but not sure whether I should save and get the basic kit or get the full combo kit. Not vlogging or content creating. Just documenting kids and school stuff. Also considering whether to get a more flagship smartphone or a decent camera for those stuff. It's just another one of those things where I wish to get photos and videos for work but unsure whether a small camera, a good phone or a proper camera is all I need. I can only choose one for now 😂
I think the fact that there aren't a gazillion accessories out there for the Pocket 3 means that it's a complete little camera/gimbal that doesn't need much in the way of accessories. I bought the rubber camera cover but returned it because it would knock off the ND filter when I put the cover on and took it off, and since I already have various extensions and tripods I didn't need to buy more.
I am looking for something that allows me to attach my OP3 to my cross body bag strap. When I walk thru the airport, my hands are full and I'd like to get some shots there. Thanks.
The best way to do that is likely with the expansion adapter (official DJI or a third party version) and the Peak Design Capture Clip. Will add some bulk, but will securely attach the camera to your bag strap.
I tried using Davinci but it struggled with the D-Log 10bit footage from the Pocket 3. Did you have the same issues? Footage just looked like it was struggling with codecs so I just moved over to Adobe and everything just worked.
Resolve Free does not support 10Bit (properly) - I spent ages searching on this after my videos showed awful colour glitching. I ended up turning off DLog and it was fine, can't afford the full price for editor. Other than that I think its a brilliant editor. You can convert your existing Dlog footage if you need to, to say avi and and it'll work.
I used to use the DJI extension rod with my Pocket 1 (useable for Pocket 2 also). It allowed me to control the Pocket 1 from the handle of the rod and use DJI Mimo from my cellphone attached to the rod (with no cables etc). It's not suitable for the pocket 3 - the camera is now slightly larger so won't fit. Does anyone know if DJI are going to make available a similar extension rod for the Pocket 3?
I'm still not sure if I should buy the pocket 3. I had two pocket 2 and both of them did not work for longer than 6 month. Then the International mic in both of them recorder nothing than white noise. None of the cameras ever fell on the ground or anything like that. I think it's the temperatures im our RV - Italy in september, Germany in august... i guess that's simple to mich for Sommer Electronic devices such as cameras. But I'm also not convinced of the gopro 11. So my search for the perfekt travelvlog-camera goes on.
I’ve used the Pocket 3 near daily since getting it 4 months ago, and I haven’t had any issues with it. The camera comes with a warranty and you can also get insurance for a pretty reasonable price. I’d recommend the insurance just in case something happens to it.
The BRDRC Stand is my go to for when I am needing a quick stand while downloading videos or standing it up a little more securely for a quick shot. I got the Mist filter and the wide angles lens but that’s all I have been using. The video quality coming out of this thing are pretty amazing straight out of the box!

I disagree unless all you want to do is the bare minimum all auto video. No way to keep your ratios for cinematic exposure without ND filters unless you always are in perfect light. But you're right, technically you don't need anything else to get footage out of the unit.
