Folk have to remember this is a very early development prototype so there's very little if any sound deadening. I was taken for a ride in this and the fans are not as loud as the video make them sound. I've never been in anything that caused so much interest or nearly caused as many accidents with people 'rubber necking' :D
The Griffith 500 will remain my dream car, but I never heard of this one, so thanks for sharing! Cars like this, where even the video sound of the fans drives you mad after 2 minutes, can only be British. And I do not mean that offensive at all. It is the British spirit of doing something completely different that always made British cars unique and hipsterish. Gosh, we will sure miss you in Europe...😕
Yes noisy but it's a prototype made by a tiny engineering company and it works! Great example of thinking about the problem they want to solve and starting the solution without reference to what everyone else has done.
As soon as he said 'this is so cool' just before entering the water,i was thinking it's going to get extremely cool (and damp) for you if it sinks. What a machine though.Looks like something Gerry Anderson would have thought up
I loved Peter Wheeler...a great British eccentric. He used to laugh at me wearing no socks a la Miami vice haha. Harry, could you track down the White beast he built for him and the dog ?
I thought the military have had Amphibious vehicles for decades ,is this a new idea ,Hang on I went on a tourist bus that went on the bay ,This is GROUNDBREAKING ,pardon the pun ,Water breaking stuff
Wow. What creates steering in the water? Front wheels, direction of water jet or a rudder? A bit scary if you hit a big kangaroo or moose through the windscreen - into the cab.
Oh so noisy, never seen Harry looking that tense in ANY other vehicle. And, the old Land Rover in front had no problem on that terrain..... Land Rover it is, then.
Really don’t understand it at all. They used something bigger and better nearly 80 years ago during WW2. There’re called Frog Boats and are still on the road and being used up and down the Thames river by London Duck Tours.
I enjoy your videos very much and your camera work is good and interesting. and you have a great speaking voice. but your audio is atrocious not only on this video but your other videos. please invest in a writeless microphone with a wind screen it will make your videos much better thanks.
Er - it's a car video? There's nowt worse than a smart arse with nowt to say. *edit* apart from the three equally idiotic sheep that 'liked' his comment.
Who's watching this back in 2024.😀
Fantastic insight into a unique vehicle, the motoring world is a poorer place for Peter no longer being around.
Jay Leno would buy this in a heartbeat...
No he wouldn't

That water was lapping pretty high you want the canopy shut and a water tight seal.
you've entered the world of "james bond" Harry
Man I thought it was going to be some TVR SUV, boy was I wrong. That thing has to be among the coolest things I have ever witnessed.
I watched his son drive that car today! Amazing video.
what an infernal racket

So glad I watched this. Proud to say I worked for TVR for nearly 18 yrs and this shows how Mr Wheeler was never short of an idea. What a mad vehicle.
As soon as he said 'this is so cool' just before entering the water,i was thinking it's going to get extremely cool (and damp) for you if it sinks. What a machine though.Looks like something Gerry Anderson would have thought up
Swan was like Ok I'll move a bit darn it.

HAhahahaha I have never seen him so Scared to drive a vehicle
GREAT to have you back Harry!
I loved Peter Wheeler...a great British eccentric. He used to laugh at me wearing no socks a la Miami vice haha. Harry, could you track down the White beast he built for him and the dog ?
I half expected it to start flying
that's the one thing it's missing, a set of wings or rotors & it'd be a complete vehicle for the man who has everything
that fan is driving me crazy after a couple of minutes of video.
Yeah, had to stop watching.
This must be the 21st century Amphicar,by TVR wow isn't it amazing! Only the British could pull this off.
Lovely pub the Inn at Whitewell? I'm homesick. Mad tvr... But aren't they all!
what a brilliant car,
Rare TVR..! Looks like something Cheech & Chong smoked up!
God bless Mr Wheeler...
Well now, that's batshit crazy isn't it, had me laughing as soon as the camera panned across to it, and I love the fact it exists.
I wish they would release these as kits, so I could have one here in the States.
Looks like something out of a Bond film...
Pity none of that moor was still attached for the concours! Congrats on the win.
Hey Harry - the ESA called, they want their lunar lander back!

....on with the russians... who... did what with TVR? Naaah, great review once again - and a great effort from the owner/manufacturer.
sounds and looks like it was built in a warehouse
I thought the military have had Amphibious vehicles for decades ,is this a new idea ,Hang on I went on a tourist bus that went on the bay ,This is GROUNDBREAKING ,pardon the pun ,Water breaking stuff
harry love your vids plz get a wind screen on your mic
Nice toy
The frame of the steering wheel is about the same size as the steering wheel :)
how fast on the water?
looks like something from captain scarlet and the mysterons.
car of the future
Peter was a great guy he'd try anything. Tesla look primitive.
Watch lost in space on Netflix and they have vehicles not dissimilar to this.
Looks like a Homer Simpson design
Why am I only seeing this now Harry???
epicccc
It's got a built in washing machine, once the spin cycles done it's ok.
Clean sheet if paper for that one i think..
What a machine! Beautifully designed .. except that crappy plastic looking steering wheel 🤢🤮
and the swan was like.....what the fu....
Wow. What creates steering in the water? Front wheels, direction of water jet or a rudder?
A bit scary if you hit a big kangaroo or moose through the windscreen - into the cab.
pretty cool but sure looks weird
similar noise of a helicopter
Oh so noisy, never seen Harry looking that tense in ANY other vehicle. And, the old Land Rover in front had no problem on that terrain..... Land Rover it is, then.
ONYA HARRY
Was Peter Wheeler a genius, or was he a genius?
Do i recognise a (younger) Brian Hosfield at the end?
Really don’t understand it at all. They used something bigger and better nearly 80 years ago during WW2. There’re called Frog Boats and are still on the road and being used up and down the Thames river by London Duck Tours.
Watch out for the blue hares racing.
such gelous
Where's the location of the lake and marina ?
I'd daily that
It's looks as off-world rover indeed!
I enjoy your videos very much and your camera work is good and interesting. and you have a great speaking voice. but your audio is atrocious not only on this video but your other videos. please invest in a writeless microphone with a wind screen it will make your videos much better thanks.
"Old-fangled Defender"
Hmm, l think Land Rovers will still be out and about on the moors long after the Scamander is forgotten...
Buy a windsock.
Building stuff like this for his own entertainment then wonders why the company goes bankrupt? Gotta love British Management and Directors LOL!
Jamie Flanagan started the project after the sale of the company :P
4'25" "Just a beautiful part of the word" - agree, Harry, but maybe easier to enjoy on foot without the noise?
Er - it's a car video? There's nowt worse than a smart arse with nowt to say. *edit* apart from the three equally idiotic sheep that 'liked' his comment.
he is on private land brother to each's own, no?
Deadcat mic cover, please.
Not exactly a farm runabout. Rich mans toy with little practical use. Good fabrication tho.
awfully noisy
Noisy ugly thing. Could be a good space lander buggy.
What a piece of crap , doesn't do anything particularly well, vw swimmer beats that
Big Ears not being funny but what the fuck would you know
🤣 and didn’t the swimmer have the ability to rig a sail up as well?!
Harry, go and buy a proper microphone FFS.
Just a hillbilly machine with a lot of plastic
Four wheeled joke.
Looks like a Homer Simpson design
