I've been watching several of your videos lately and, man, You really should do more videos flooring it on winding roads. Japonese Culture has a word for it. TOUGE. You've been practicing it quite a lot, and probably never knew about that. You should check it out. And dude, it's a way of life. You go there with a Veyron Vitesse and a Huayra, and you see two other Veyrons just randomly pass by... When we were in France with a 1st gen. Opel Tigra, the most interesting car I've seen was an old Peugeot 504 Coupe... and maybe an older Rolls Phantom, but the Peugeot was more exciting to me.
I'm certain the Veyron is super fast but I was just watching footage of Harry in a Huayra with Horacio Pagani. In comparison, the Veyron seems incredibly dull compared to the Huayra. The Huayra 's interior is plush iand a little retro. The Huayra also has more sound going on too.You can hear the turbo waste gates. Put everything together and it's one huge event!!
Well that's the point. The Pagani has become much more performance oriented and showy, whereas the Bugatti has always been a premier example of understated/conservative luxury combined with the pinnacle of performance and engineering. The Bugatti was only meant to give excitement in the technical capabilities it has, and only shows them when you ask it to. Unexpected excitement can be quite unpleasant with so much money on the line, especially if you just want to do a long distance cruise, which is what the Bugatti was built for.
The Huayra is a fabulous machine, a sure-fire legend that will only get more valuable. But a few characteristics remind the observer that the car's maker has no racing program to learn from. (Competitors Porsche, McLaren and Ferrari are heavily invested in racing, and the results show in their supercars.) It appears to me those flaps on the four corners of the Huara do NOT make it handle better in high-speed corners. The flaps, intended to increase downforce over each respective wheel, are the equivalent of lifting yourself off the floor but pulling on your bootstraps. If anything, the flaps probably disrupt the airflow and make the Huarya a little unstable at speed. Anyway, neither of these cars has any place on public roads. If driven as intended, their drivers would lose their licenses within weeks. And they seem as if they'd be laborious when driven at real-world speeds. Thanks, but if I'm going to spend the big bucks, I'll take a nice coupe from Mercedes or Bentley.
It is a matter of taste, I know. But I find both cars ugly. I do recognise the technical brilliance, but I don't like the looks. It is over the top. (Of course the power output and the prices are as well, of course).
then why did you click on the video of two hypercars? You can't complain about _both_ examples of billionaire's taste in a video where those are the only two subjects...
