I have 2 of these cars, a 89 and a 91, the 91 since new, first time i have seen that cover on the diagnostic ports, pretty neat, guess mine was taken off at the dealer or it just plain came without it,lol, i love my INNOVA scanner,33 bucks online, counting flashes is just not my thing, really helps out and pays for it almost immediately, next time one of these cars lands at the salvage (a rare occurrence these days) I'm gonna hunt for that little diagnostic ports cover. Another thing about the scanner is that it comes with a really cool book that has all your codes that way you dont have to be looking at your phone and searching for stuff, there are also several tests in the book you can run on the car like cylinder balance test and just a bunch of other stuff.
Had a buddies MAF with a tucked wiring setup in the fender get wet in a storm on PowerTour and his fox really started running like crap. Got it dried out a wrapped it in a grocery bag and it ran normal again.🤪
need some help .. doing 5 speed swap in 88 lx convertible ... what about computer plus 02 sensor ... do i need to change ecm or keep the auto in there .. no mass air in car ... what happens if i put 1990 gt ecm in ... u are the man of all knowing can u help me please thanks Rob
when the hell did they calibrate them to throttle bodies size? the 75mm is the size of the meter housing. all they ever did was tweak the transfer functions of voltage for the injectors, a band-aid compared to what's available these days
Well that makes more sense! The only reason I thought that is because the guy before me said he had the MAF calibrated for the upgraded throttle body despite the car having stock injectors?
Correct. Mass air flow are calibrated to injector. Throttle body does not come into factor however that is likely what info the guy may have passed along.
I have a 91 that has a check engine light on. Back in the day I had the scanner for these cars but that’s been lost or lent out years ago. I was trying to use my test light and I’m not getting what I think I should. When I jump the two wires then connect test light it’s on, I turn the key and it a bit brighter but then that it just stays on. Any ideas?
Whats it like to drive a bone stock coupe? I've never got to ride in a bone stock car besides 2.3T and a 255 auto car. Im looking at a coupe with 2.73s and bone stock other wise. 5 spd. Not sure on 2.73s......would have liked 3.08s or 3.27s
What would cause me not to get the “running codes” ? I can get the koko codes but when I turn car on for the codes it shuts off? Any ideas? Much appreciated
I was thinking about building an injection car...but the guy won't move off his 1500 dollar price..so for a car that I would have 2 build from scratch missing way to much.even though it's a T-top.its just not worth it..by the time I bought everything I could just buy a car.
LS3 swap that! aluminum block lighter than a 5.0! make it a evil sacralidge for Ford owners!! Cheap, light, reliable, crazy Hp in a small package drops right in there neat and tidy! Do one of those for a video the hate mail u would get 😂😂😂
Put an LS in a roller shitbox preferably a GM product. Why take a nice car and fuck it up to go faster with a most likely used engine and janky swap hookups.
@@thomhagan8297 Haha see the hate 😂😂. Ford guy tried n true! All manufacturers make great products and all have their headaches! Appricate the love I knew that would come with the comment 😝

Wiring issues are always fun to track down. Bring some swag to Foxtoberfest if you can.
Too bad I am stuck here in Canada!

Good stuff !!!! Got me motivated have new parts on the way and turning some wrenchs today really hoping to get this going soon
Great job Chris, it's always a wire that comes loose when the original wires get spliced into. Hopefully that took care of the problems.
That hood looks so dope an smooth with the shocks
Soldier and heat shrink def the best way to splice.
Yep agreed... Now that everything is testing good I'll be cleaning up the connections and make it look factory

Ya it was on a completely stock motor too which really made no sense. All good

Did you use the hood terminal
I find a lot of broken wires in my old Mustang from people using butt connecters I swear by solder and heat stink
What would happen if use the hood light one
You'll fry a trace wire in the computer and all your sensors will be pinned at 5v
