I stole their first cassette tape from a Christian store. Cutting lines on it while listening to it..painting skate boards in California. Clean 33 years now. Thank you Lord Jesus..and my mom.
I've seen them multiple times live and I have never seen a band perform nothing like them ever. They have incredible music talent up there with extol cradle of filth and dimmu Borger in performance live. Everything just so crystal clear in every beat. Best show I've ever seen and helped with sound was cornerstone festival with Terry and Bill from heavens rage. Awesome guys.I wish they could bring cornerstone festival back.they got sued because a female girl got brain damage and almost died from mosh pit injury.
Favorite band ever!!! I've been playing drums 30 years and it all based on Lance's style. I got the name Animal because of it. When he beats the crap out of that China cymbal I makes me rage! Love it!
Reborn was legit; I still have fond memories of listening to Reborn when it first released. Not a knock off, but their own creativity and ingenuity at work.
My friend you've made me smile today. I'm so glad you made this. This was THE band I listened to on repeat in high school. I'm no longer a Christian, but this band will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Saw them back in 1998, they almost didn't get to Minneapolis to play the show on time cause they got caught in a snow storm down in Iowa, but a half hour before they were supposed to play they came knocking on the side door of the club. I didnt know who it was until I opened the door and saw Lance standing there with a couple drum cases in his hands, so I helped him set up his kit while a couple others helped the rest of the guys.
Have been a fan since I was a kid buying the cd in a Christian book store. I’m guessing around 02-03. I was 12 and hooked. I still enjoy listening to them. Favorite record: Hammering process
They have been my favorite band since I was 13 and bought Nonexistent on cassette! I bought Reborn on CD when I was 18, and seeing them live in Dallas with Project 86 when I was 19 was one of the best shows to this day! These dudes have stood the test of time and will ALWAYS be my first favorite metal band of all time.
living sacrifice at the revelation room in canton tx in 2001 (i think). i was 11 and it was my first show. it was at that show i knew i was gonna spend the rest of my life in the music world
Saw LS at H’s Cellar in Grafton, ND in 2000 with The Rock Band, Spoken, and a Canadian group whose instruments got held at the border. H’s was so rad. Wonder what happened to that guy.
Saw them at Cornerstone in ‘94. The bass player singer played the Open E string the whole time. Every song. I don’t think he used any of this fingers on the fretboard, ever.
Yes!! I was blessed to see these brothers back in the early 2000's at a local church and WHOA; they were AMAZING 🎉🎉 🎸 🔥 That was during the time they released their Hammering Process Album. 🔨 👀 See time stamp 8:50 Also see time stamp 3:10 "the floor got wet during the Hammering Process," he meant. 😊 The sound they produce is powerful and other-worldly! 🌎 😮 And no; they do not sound like Slayer. Please! 😂 Not even their self-titled album sounds like those Catholic shredders (Slayer), yet many critics will say otherwise. Yes, the lead singer (Tomás Enrique Araya Díaz) was raised Catholic.🙄 You have to dig deep into ridiculous subjectivity (aka stupid opinion) to draw the conclusion that Living Sacrifice ripped off Slayers' sound and lyrical style. 😉 But I digress. They are gifted! No doubt! 😎 Shalom!
I love their first three albums, especially "INHABIT" which is the most brutal raw Christian death metal I've ever heard. It is amazing. I am not too crazy about the Reborn style of music but I have high respect for the post-Darren Johnson lineup. They should have maintained their original style in my opinion, but it is what it is.
this band was my introduction to whoever named the rhythmic in (however one chooses play it thanks to finding out about Messhugah years later )000 on DGD on guitar called a breakdown thanks to hearing Reject when i was about 13
evwnthough living sacrifice 1989 to 1995 era was my 6 to age 12 era so I did not get into them until, concieved by fire. I must say as a fan yes music is about to evolve change. I am all about being eclectic even with metal. However I still prefer old school sound of thrash and black and death and doom. So as a Christian , I prefer Discern , Antestor, Horde, Crimson Thorn, Diamoth, So old school LS is so much better in my opinion.
DJ was cool but Bruce..geez that guy is intense.Slings his guitar like a weapon on stage.Killer metal band.I was blown away by Reborn. Then they topped it or at least equaled it with Hammering..

I love Living Sacrifice! Please come out with another album!!
One of the best bands of all time. If you've never been to a live show, you need to. You're welcome in advance.

Reborn was the first time I realized that their is Christian metal. It changed everything for me.

That's right reborn album was metal / hardcore I loved it
They started sounding a bit like Coroner later on. Great sound.
I love their first three albums, especially "INHABIT" which is the most brutal raw Christian death metal I've ever heard. It is amazing. I was nuts about the first two albums, I had the tribal black long sleeve LS. had to import it LOL
Great Jason Truby
