Seen tons of "Christian" bands over the years who would eventually abandon their faith or keep silent because they were afraid to offend people. Sleeping Giant only got stronger and more up front about their message. Had the pleasure of doing guest vocals for them live and meeting Tommy on multiple occasions. This band embodied what a Christian band should be.
I’m 30 and just discovered Jesus. Was a militant atheist who mocked Christ and Christians all my life. All I can say is He is real. Thank you SG for all the great music I just discovered.

As I approach my 50th year on this planet I have never experienced worship in any church that can compare to attending a Sleeping Giant event. I can’t listen to Sleeping Giant in public due to it’s extreme emotional worship response it has upon me. It touches my spirit to its very essence. I cannot express my gratitude for your years of service. I pray whomever picks up your mantle that they can move with the same power. You will be greatly missed.
First time I saw them I had a true religious tunnel vision moment - the walls closed in - no exits to be found - the room got dark only illuminated by them - it was just Tommy's voice and Sleeping Giants thunder AND ME - no one else was in the room! God was speaking through him to me and before I could gather myself I realized tears were falling down my face during "oh praise him"! I remember "coming to" and my wife was looking at me with an understanding that I was dealing with pain - suffering - shame and regret all at once! I'm older so I've been in the HC scene for a long time! They broke through in a way I wasn't ready for! Then again = The more I watched and listened to Tommy the more I saw/heard a typical social justice warrior and it hurt how I perceived him! I loved them as musicians but he wouldn't like who I am! To me his overt political messages/SJW message makes them no different than any other HC band - separately from their sincere Christian presence!
So sad ..I am 52 yrs young and have played metal/heavy rock for years and years ....I just now tonight heard SG for the 1st time ...I don't know HOW ..I been listening to War of Ages and For Today for years ...plus many more....but I SAS the vid for ..one of their tunes...odd name ..can't recall right this second...but ..it was so BEAUTIFUL at the message and the crowd that I WEPT!!!!!!!!
I have only just cone to know HolyName so thought i would look up sleeping giant , I am humbled, ecstatic and so happy to know their are bands like this out there preaching in their own way, thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
Sleeping Giant is something Christianity needed as a whole. To show us, that we don't need to sacrifice who we are, we don't need to appear clean, to worship the One True God. That we could worship while being exactly who God made us to be. That's a beauty few will get to enjoy.

I first heard about y’all through the Punk Rock MBA channel from his video “what killed Christ core” and y’all brought me back closer to Jesus Christ. I have honestly drawn so far from him and thought he abandoned me. I cut my teeth on bands like Pantera and Metallica. When I gave my life to Jesus 8 years ago, that music was the first thing to go. Sleeping Giant was there to help me fill that music void and now my music collection is bigger than ever, and it's mostly made up of Christian hard rock and metal. Thanks for staying true to what God has called you to do. You have inspired thousands. Keep it rockin Tommy!
Same exact situation with me! Except, the majority of my music is Sleeping Giant now because they set the bar so high! Do you recommend any other bands I should check out? Most of the "Christian bands" I have listened too have been disappointing because they are so lukewarm

Well u need to check out Tommys new band HolyName , they have instantly topped any other band - christian or other - that i have ever listened to ( and believe me I LOVE music, I adore this band and can not stop listening to them @BeatVids
I can remember being at the showcase theatre and the lead vocalist for the band Overcome began to preach. At that time, late 90,s ish, no one preached. I remember people in the crowd hushing him....shut up and play...awesome to see Tommy preaching and not getting booed off stage
This band taught me how to worship. Laughing and crying while stomping across a concrete floor and in the next moment face down in surrender. Then to get up and yell out praises. Forever thankful for being present during all of this. Also...your conference changed my life. Thank you for what you've done sleepy g's 🙏

This is so encouraging, I’m in a faith centered hardcore band in South Carolina and my heart so burns for what they left and they mantle they have set up! I hope my band and many more rise up to keep pushing the kingdom of heaven into all parts of the world

I don't think there will ever be a band quite like Sleeping Giant. Musically, lyrically, spiritually, personality, and even stage presence. They were unique and anointed in every way.
I'm 43 ive been a Christian since 98 and just discovered this band yesterday while at the gym. This was never my style of music but I wanted to listen to something different and while I lifted weights I just listened to the words and I'm hooked. Awesome music and amazing lyrics
A few months ago i was going to end my life!! I hit the worst part of my life and i only saw darkness!! In that darkness i found this band and some others..the impact it had on me was overwhelming! I really wish you these guys were performing! And if anyone is reading this please pray for me i really need strength to carry on and not fall!thank you and god bless

Best band ever. These guys were a huge part of my life. I've never witnessed a band with such genuine praise and heart for the Lord. I was glad to be a part of one of their farewell shows in Dallas.
I am a Pastor of a church, and I absolutely love your music. Everyone calls me the tattooed Pastor because I’m covered with tattoos. Lol. The Lord saved me from a life of abuse and agony and your music is a way out for a lot of people searching for hope, and in it they will find Christ. Praise Jesus!!!
I still remember the day when I stumbled upon Tithemi randomly right after I graduated high school, and at the time I couldn’t really listen to hardcore at all. But the pure worship and rawness was something I had never heard before, and I wanted more of it. Within a month I went to Scream The Prayer when they came through town and SG was there and that’s all I really cared about. Looking back through my college years and even now, Tommy and the Preachcore from Sleeping Giant truly marked my walk with God and changed the way I saw and interacted with the church and sharing the Gospel... I just hope one day I get a chance to say thank you to Tommy and the band members face to face!! KINGDOM OVER EVERYTHING
I never got a chance to worship with SG live, but I've blown out my speakers in my car worshiping with them! If the hardcore scene sees no issue with preaching about animal rights, about being drug free, against discrimination, why don't more "christians" preach about the hope that is in them? If you're on a stage every week and you're sucking up the praise and adoration of your peers and NOT funneling that glory to Christ, you'll fill up on pride and fear man's approval more than anything else.
Sleeping Giant is really amazing of how they can take the music that GOD has put on their hearts and share it with the kids in the scene to let them know they are loved by Jesus and they don't have to be afraid of Him. Sleeping Giant never compromised their faith for the scene. I love that about them, they wanted the kids to understand His love and grace in a way that the church couldn't. They have been a blessing in my life and I pray that GOD move in a mighty way in their lives in the next chapter of their lives. Thank you guys for sharing your faith and never backing down from anyone.

Id be curious to know how you like it. Ive only just discovered Holy Name and just learned today about sleeping giant. They sound pretty different to me. But same singer, guitar player and drummer I think have carried over to the Holy name group
@@danielblakely952 Much more of a Sleeping Giant fan, BUT if you haven't seen it I recommend watch the Sleeping Giant Farewell Documentary. They discuss how they wanted to blend metal and church sound to bring the metal scene and the church together via preachcore genre. I personally feel like that's what Holy Name's purpose is. There's still some chug riffs and some great drums, but it's not nearly as intense as Sleeping Giant.
Ok i got the opportunity to listen to a bit of sleeping giant yesterday. Definitely a very different sound. As a member of the Orthodox Christian faith, none of either group sounds anything like worship music to my ear lol. Thanks for your insight. Sorry if i got your hopes up to see sleeping giant live.
Tithemi is straight-up the most powerful worship song I've ever heard. I jam to it with my young boys, I've shared it with my father, I throw it on when I'm feeling down or anxious. There is nothing like hearing the name of Jesus freakin' declared with sincere emotion. I grew up in the Church and I can't stand most worship music, because it just never felt sincere; it always felt like we were trying to cover up our stench with perfume and just wasn't being real. This is real and it is incredible.
In the early stages of my my faith Sleeping Giant was instrumental in giving me inspiration in my walk. Although now theologically we have many disagreements (I left the pentacostal charasmatic movement and became Confessionally Reformed in theology), I really appreciate how God has used this band in the lives of his people! I’ve been lucky enough to share the stage with this band a few times. Always was impressed by the energy and how their messages were conveyed. Being from Utah where religion is EVERYWHERE and used more of a tool to control the masses, There was Tommy Green with a message that stuck with me. He said “The only relationship that matters is the one you have with god themselves.” That really stuck with me. Thank you for the many shows and energy you shared Sleeping Giant, may you Rest In Peace.

I haven’t listened to this guys enough to really feel the essence of how powerful their music is, and I never saw them live to know how life-changing their shows can be. This documentary makes me want to listen to them more. I’m super inspired by their faith and their willingness to preach to crowds unashamedly, and I know their music will live on and keep changing lives! Preachcore lives! Long live Sleeping Giant!
I have been so blessed by the ministry of Sleeping Giant. I got into SG because I was an ANGRY, HURTING Pastor's Kid; loved the aggression of Hardcore, and feared God as much as I wanted to love Him. I was explaining to a buddy that all anyone in the Christian hardcore scene was doing was complaining. I couldn't even tell whether something was really that heavy anymore. Then he played Blame It On The Holy Rollers for me. I was so hooked! As I grew in my understanding of who God was, and the victory won by Christ, I found that only Sleeping Giant and one other artist were tracking with me - or really trailblazing ahead of me. When I commit my workouts to The Lord and listen to Sleeping Giant, I sometimes experience the presence of The Holy Spirit so heavily that I have to interrupt my own set to just fall to my knees and praise. I'm deeply grateful that Sleeping Giant has Finished Well, as that's something very few godly men have done in my life. I don't begrudge them their post-band lives, and I'm so glad that they have the opportunity to pursue those. I don't know of any bands that worship as heavily and authentically as SG, and I'm really feeling the loss of knowing I won't jam to another album of theirs again. I look forward so much to hearing those kids who make Sleeping Giant's ceiling their floor!
I am 47 years old and have bin in the Christian metal hardcore seen since I was 12 and have seen many shows I have seen the mighty SG 4 time's and every time I felt the presents presents of God like no other show thank you guys for doing this documentary ! OH praise HIM ! I know that when we are all in heaven that SG will play in front of their King and I will be there in the Pitt worshipping my King with them thank for all the music we will meet on the other side brothers
I’ve never understood Churches and Christ centered bands that support homosexuality and now transgenderism. I want to be clear; I do not hate these people and I certainly do not wish ill on them. I want them to find healing and help the same way I want people suffering from other addictions and vices to. If we’re just preaching what society and reality TV preaches, aren’t we just worshiping culture? I had a close friend from my childhood announce he was transitioning some years ago. I spoke to him and he was generally dismissive about what I thought. We fell out and I was down about it for four or five years. We reconnected recently and he told me that he had detransitioned. I don’t know if what I’d said had an impact, or if it had been somebody else if the outcome would have been the same, but I have to believe that a lot of people out there are confused and just need somebody to talk to. Balancing our obligation to love one another but also to recognize sinful behavior when we see it feels more personal and tumultuous now than ever before. Whatever you’re going through, God is there for you.
I remember growing up with Living Sacrifice. This is LS but true worship. I just discovered these guys, but wow. Their music brings me to tears. Jesus you hold the crown! Bow Down!

I grew up with all the hardcore/metalcore Christian bands, but Sleeping Giant always hits different. This is legitimate worship music.

I don't think there will ever be a band quite like Sleeping Giant. Musically, lyrically, spiritually, personality, and even stage presence. They were unique and anointed in every way.

I'm 43 ive been a Christian since 98 and just discovered this band yesterday while at the gym. This was never my style of music but I wanted to listen to something different and while I lifted weights I just listened to the words and I'm hooked. Awesome music and amazing lyrics
A few months ago i was going to end my life!! I hit the worst part of my life and i only saw darkness!! In that darkness i found this band and some others..the impact it had on me was overwhelming! I really wish you these guys were performing! And if anyone is reading this please pray for me i really need strength to carry on and not fall!thank you and god bless

Best band ever. These guys were a huge part of my life. I've never witnessed a band with such genuine praise and heart for the Lord. I was glad to be a part of one of their farewell shows in Dallas.

RIP. Sleeping Giant always blew my mind live. I’m glad to have at least been apart of the farewell shows to say goodbye.
I still remember the day when I stumbled upon Tithemi randomly right after I graduated high school, and at the time I couldn’t really listen to hardcore at all. But the pure worship and rawness was something I had never heard before, and I wanted more of it. Within a month I went to Scream The Prayer when they came through town and SG was there and that’s all I really cared about. Looking back through my college years and even now, Tommy and the Preachcore from Sleeping Giant truly marked my walk with God and changed the way I saw and interacted with the church and sharing the Gospel... I just hope one day I get a chance to say thank you to Tommy and the band members face to face!!
KINGDOM OVER EVERYTHING
I never got a chance to worship with SG live, but I've blown out my speakers in my car worshiping with them! If the hardcore scene sees no issue with preaching about animal rights, about being drug free, against discrimination, why don't more "christians" preach about the hope that is in them? If you're on a stage every week and you're sucking up the praise and adoration of your peers and NOT funneling that glory to Christ, you'll fill up on pride and fear man's approval more than anything else.
Sleeping Giant is really amazing of how they can take the music that GOD has put on their hearts and share it with the kids in the scene to let them know they are loved by Jesus and they don't have to be afraid of Him. Sleeping Giant never compromised their faith for the scene. I love that about them, they wanted the kids to understand His love and grace in a way that the church couldn't. They have been a blessing in my life and I pray that GOD move in a mighty way in their lives in the next chapter of their lives. Thank you guys for sharing your faith and never backing down from anyone.

Id be curious to know how you like it. Ive only just discovered Holy Name and just learned today about sleeping giant. They sound pretty different to me. But same singer, guitar player and drummer I think have carried over to the Holy name group
@@danielblakely952 Much more of a Sleeping Giant fan, BUT if you haven't seen it I recommend watch the Sleeping Giant Farewell Documentary. They discuss how they wanted to blend metal and church sound to bring the metal scene and the church together via preachcore genre. I personally feel like that's what Holy Name's purpose is. There's still some chug riffs and some great drums, but it's not nearly as intense as Sleeping Giant.
Ok i got the opportunity to listen to a bit of sleeping giant yesterday. Definitely a very different sound. As a member of the Orthodox Christian faith, none of either group sounds anything like worship music to my ear lol. Thanks for your insight. Sorry if i got your hopes up to see sleeping giant live.
Tithemi is straight-up the most powerful worship song I've ever heard. I jam to it with my young boys, I've shared it with my father, I throw it on when I'm feeling down or anxious. There is nothing like hearing the name of Jesus freakin' declared with sincere emotion. I grew up in the Church and I can't stand most worship music, because it just never felt sincere; it always felt like we were trying to cover up our stench with perfume and just wasn't being real. This is real and it is incredible.

In the early stages of my my faith Sleeping Giant was instrumental in giving me inspiration in my walk. Although now theologically we have many disagreements (I left the pentacostal charasmatic movement and became Confessionally Reformed in theology), I really appreciate how God has used this band in the lives of his people! I’ve been lucky enough to share the stage with this band a few times. Always was impressed by the energy and how their messages were conveyed. Being from Utah where religion is EVERYWHERE and used more of a tool to control the masses, There was Tommy Green with a message that stuck with me. He said “The only relationship that matters is the one you have with god themselves.” That really stuck with me. Thank you for the many shows and energy you shared Sleeping Giant, may you Rest In Peace.

This documentary makes me want to listen to them more. I’m super inspired by their faith and their willingness to preach to crowds unashamedly, and I know their music will live on and keep changing lives! Preachcore lives! Long live Sleeping Giant!

I have been so blessed by the ministry of Sleeping Giant. I got into SG because I was an ANGRY, HURTING Pastor's Kid; loved the aggression of Hardcore, and feared God as much as I wanted to love Him. I was explaining to a buddy that all anyone in the Christian hardcore scene was doing was complaining. I couldn't even tell whether something was really that heavy anymore. Then he played Blame It On The Holy Rollers for me. I was so hooked! As I grew in my understanding of who God was, and the victory won by Christ, I found that only Sleeping Giant and one other artist were tracking with me - or really trailblazing ahead of me. When I commit my workouts to The Lord and listen to Sleeping Giant, I sometimes experience the presence of The Holy Spirit so heavily that I have to interrupt my own set to just fall to my knees and praise. I'm deeply grateful that Sleeping Giant has Finished Well, as that's something very few godly men have done in my life. I don't begrudge them their post-band lives, and I'm so glad that they have the opportunity to pursue those.
I don't know of any bands that worship as heavily and authentically as SG, and I'm really feeling the loss of knowing I won't jam to another album of theirs again.
I look forward so much to hearing those kids who make Sleeping Giant's ceiling their floor!

I am 47 years old and have bin in the Christian metal hardcore seen since I was 12 and have seen many shows I have seen the mighty SG 4 time's and every time I felt the presents presents of God like no other show thank you guys for doing this documentary ! OH praise HIM ! I know that when we are all in heaven that SG will play in front of their King and I will be there in the Pitt worshipping my King with them thank for all the music we will meet on the other side brothers
I’ve never understood Churches and Christ centered bands that support homosexuality and now transgenderism. I want to be clear; I do not hate these people and I certainly do not wish ill on them. I want them to find healing and help the same way I want people suffering from other addictions and vices to. If we’re just preaching what society and reality TV preaches, aren’t we just worshiping culture? I had a close friend from my childhood announce he was transitioning some years ago. I spoke to him and he was generally dismissive about what I thought. We fell out and I was down about it for four or five years. We reconnected recently and he told me that he had detransitioned. I don’t know if what I’d said had an impact, or if it had been somebody else if the outcome would have been the same, but I have to believe that a lot of people out there are confused and just need somebody to talk to. Balancing our obligation to love one another but also to recognize sinful behavior when we see it feels more personal and tumultuous now than ever before.
Whatever you’re going through, God is there for you.
